The market should have absolutely no influence when evaluating players; they have no control over that, whereas winning should be weighted in, but to a point. Is that player contributing a maximum effort, and how conducive is it to winning? How integral is that player to his team's success? Would that player have achieved this much if not for his supporting cast? These types of probing questions should always be asked.

Rose is making it hard for me to defend him, but I honestly believe he has elite point guard potential. Evans will be a star, but I really don't see first tier superstar potential in him.

LeBron right now is playing at a level that Durant is going to peak at. We haven't even seen LeBron's ceiling yet.

I've always felt that discrediting a player based on the level of his teammates was a weak way of comparing players, and even more so in this case because both of these quarterbacks have their share of weapons. Give me Rodgers. Elite arm, improving mechanics, and best of all, he's consistent. Harp on his flaws (tendency to hold the ball), but he's tough, and the fact that he's been able to deliver all season with that leaky offensive line is mighty impressive. I love Romo's improvisational skills and pocket elusiveness, but he can't carry his offense the way that Rodgers can.

I never said anything about the specifications for a blocking foul. Please find me the exact rule that says that. Not your interpretation of the rule, but the actual rule. Impressive. I've learned more from five minutes on Google than you have through years of basketball camp. Both questions are irrelevant, but probably because either those bigs didn't have position, there was too much contact, or the shot-taker was named Kobe Bryant. After the position is established, you're allowed to move. It's too vague to pinpoint anything, but I probably should've specified that I wasn't talking about this situation, but rather other times when defenders shuffle to the spot in hopes of drawing a charge. That's often what you see in games, and you have it confused with this. It's consistently called a blocking foul when it's a blatant blocking foul, or there's a tie (from what I've seen).
