  1. In all honesty, I think Cutler has Walter Payton to blame for the hate Bears fans are giving him. Why? Because Payton set a precedent for toughness for Bears fans. Every Bears player has to live up to that precedent in their eyes. If you don't care about Real's stories in basketball, listen to former and current NFL PLAYERS who have said that he is a wimp. Philip Rivers played through worse. They lost the game. You know what that told his team? He cares too much about the team to not play despite losing. He cemented himself as the full leader of that team, and LT was officially out on a leadership stand point after sitting out the game after 3 plays.
  2. The Jay Cutler situation comes from the preconceived notion that he is a baby. The way that he has handled himself throughout his career makes it seem like he LOVES to be bashed in the media. It isn't just coming from the fans though. Plenty of other football players are calling him out on it, saying that you have to give more of an effort in such a big game. I personally don't see how you can be considered a franchise player and not go out there(as Mark Schlereth said) and play until you are on a stretcher in such a game of the magnitude. Is it fair? Hell no. But what else are fans supposed to do? Just accept the fact that their guy couldn't go and they got beat? They won't do that. Someone has to be the scapegoat, and if a guy isn't playing in such a big game, he will be that scapegoat. What is funny is that I have been blasted here for criticizing Cutler, but a lot of Bears fans are giving it to him much worse than I ever would. Think what you want, but if ARod went out with the same injury, he could NEVER live it down after the [expletive] Favre played through, and he would never hear the end of it from Packers fans.
  3. a more appropriate title would have been do my hw assignment
  4. because the random thread is just a spam thread
  5. at least Grossman's will was never questioned by anyone
  6. The Patriots defense wasn't as bad as the Colts defense that year. The Colts also had a chance to win it, but Peyton couldn't put anything together. Brady had 3 picks in that game as well, but his 2 TDs certainly helped them
  7. It really didn't matter in that case though, the Chargers were [expletive]ed no matter what against the Patriots that year. I think Rivers gets the praise because he went out there and put an effort forward - something a franchise quarterback is expected to do. If you're hobbled, give your team the best you've got, because its better than what your backup can do(unless your back up is Vick) But like its been said, Hanie played much better than Cutler could have dreamed of in a big game, so you learn that about Cutler as well.
  8. so the word is that the Bengals CEO is denying the request. [expletive] gonna get real
  9. chosenone bashed Tomlinson for it though iirc.
  10. EVERY guy in that game was playing hurt! you don't make it to this part of the season w/o injuries, players feel you need to suck it up i understand that but his actions have left him open for criticism. There is a perceived lack of effort to play hurt. Players criticism of Cutler has nothing to do with how bad he was hurt. Its the perceived lack of effort or attempt to play hurt! As a guy how had 20 knee surgeries you'd have to drag me out on a stretcher to Leave a championship game! http://twitter.com/#!/markschlereth
  11. one of the ESPN guys blasted him too saying that after 20 knee surgeries, he would have had to be carried off on a stretcher to not play.
  12. if you watched the game, then you would know that there was more to it being a two possession game. the bears were getting out played and out coached in EVERY aspect. a two TD game is pretty out of reach unless you have some sort of momentum, something the Bears NEVER had in the game. Urlacher's pick? Offense does nothing. Briggs' crazy pick? Offense did nothing. Using the term two possession is also meaningless in football, because it can mean a 16 point game or a 6 point game as well. Say it as what it was - a 14 point game, close to being a blowout in football.
  13. you know what's funny is how worked up you get about this fish. I really don't hate Cutler at all when compared to some Bears fans
  14. you have the Lakers/Clippers, but have said you only became a Heat fan after the acquisition of the big three. i don't understand why the hell you care so much. The culture difference between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh is HUGE by the way, so it isn't odd for Pittsburgh fans to not like Philadelphia teams. I could use the same argument that you should be a Warriors fan or Kings fan because they are in California.
  15. the hell is this? Favre never cost anyone a game because of his injuries. Favre "caused" a loss because of his play style. But one can argue those teams would never have even been in the position WITHOUT Favre. Just stop. It is obvious you didn't watch the game. A two possession game doesn't mean crap when the offense can't get a drive going. As for the whole Polamalu thing, the reason he was out was to rest for the post season. There is a big difference between resting for the post season and not playing during the post season. I'm sure Polamalu would have played through the pain during a post season game, but then again, its hard to compare offensive players pain threshold to defensive players.
  16. I don't think Hanie is going to blast Cutler in the media.
  17. Where should he be? He is part of the team. He should be doing whatever he can to be helping Hanie
  18. no reason to not be helping out the team on the sideline
  19. HOV, you admitidly dislike football, meaning you aren't aware of Cutler's past. And of course his teammates will defend him in public, but the rest of the league called him out on twitter
  20. This isn't just about him playing though. I've moved on from that. I want to know why he wasn't supporting his teammates, especially his backups. He just seemed disinterested after being benched.
  21. I'm surprised this hasn't been said: Favre's sister is revolting
  22. What a post. Wouldn't expect anything more from you. Forgot questioning decisions is the same as bashing.
