I'll eat my crow if an MRI shows something was seriously wrong with his knee. However, what I need to know is: Why was he just sitting there and not fighting with the coaches/doctors to go back in? If the pain really was unbearable, why was he not having any treatment on the sidelines or in the locker room? I heard they did somethig at half time, but they weren't going to try harder to get him back in the game? Why couldn't you see him cheering his teammates on? Every shot of him was reminiscent of LT a few years back just sitting and sulking. Why wasn't he doing more to help coach Hanie and Collins? Other QBs seem to become assistant coaches when unable to play, but Cuttler was the lone exception on Sunday. Not looking for accusations of bashing Cutler or Cutler bashing, I just don't understand how you can support him or have faith in him as a leader going forward.

Popular opinion is that Ryan's antics are annoying. However, it has cemented the belief into his players that they are better than the opposition. It also gives them reason to fight for the coach they love. They don't want to see him eat crow. He sticks up for them and takes the blame after losses, and they want to defend him by winning when he says something silly. By doing nothing this weekend, he didn't give his team that extra bit of motivation. He didn't give them that extra reason to tackle as hard or the extra push on a 4th and inches on the goal line. In my opinion, Rex Ryan remains one of the most misunderstood coaches in the league. He says silly things and gets blasted for it, however by blasting him, you fall into his trap of being a masterful motivator for his team. And lets be honest, apart from the OLine, every player on that team's work ethic and talent has been called into question.
