Ya from my experience it's really not a problem, each professor deals with it differently at the start of the semester but none of them waste much time with it. As far as that statement HOV you might just be underestimating students common sense lol. I mean if you are a big distraction the professor will call you out, or address it after class but at the same time you have some professors who truly don't make an effort to explain the material well enough to keep students attention. So if you are going to call out the students on focusing I think it depends heavily on the professor as well. I only say this because I have been through the good and the bad and am guilty of pulling out my IPhone and getting online or texting during a horribly boring lecture. I have had professors who just could not speak and deliver the material well enough, I have had classes where I have realized I am better off studying the material on my own and understanding it than hearing the prof make a half [expletive] attempt at it, I mean I have had "paycheck" professors lol it sucks but it is a key factor when it comes to losing interest in a class. But I am with you as far as being mature going to class and learning for what you pay for, it's just the method sometimes fails in a big way. But majority of the students have common decency towards where you don't need strict rules to prevent chaos because at the college level you expect a certain level of maturity, no one forces you to come to class it's really on you so I think people that show up are literally willing to learn.

Agreed. I have taken classes with 400 people and now I have more classes with 30-40 since I am a semester away from graduating, and none of my professors really care if you text. I have professors that tell us if you need to make a call or text step outside the classroom and do it, or do it without distracting the class, but at least in my experience the professor expects students to be respectful and majority are. I have had one professor who just told us to turn the phone off, and if the phone did start ringing he would just tell that student to leave plain and simple, but wouldn't waste his time policing the situation, just get rid of the student.

LOL I watched the game. Lowry was just straight up on fire 15-18 the entire night. First Quarter: 3-3 with two threes Second Quarter: 4-4 two more threes Third Quarter: 2-2 Fourth Quarter: 6-8 one more three pointer and a bunch of easy layups. This is Kyle in a nutshell when he plays Memphis his former team or Philly his "home" team he always steps up and brings that extra, but gotta give him credit all season he has been an aggressive player who is clearly fortunate for the starting spot and new contract. Rockets missed Courtney Lee big time, and also Kevin Martin once again NOT coming through he just went 3-12 and has been struggling for days now. Aaron Brooks still shaky 4-12 and Chase Budinger 0-6. On Twitter last night T Will was venting a bit by retweeting a bunch of people who tweeted #FreeTWill lol he's clearly frustrated and I don't get why he hasn't been given a shot it's not like Budinger has been stellar, nether has Aaron Brooks and with Martin struggling and Lee out you would think Adelman would use his deep bench but still no T Will it's ridiculous.

Wow I am really happy to see Jermaine Taylor have success 17 points tonight. He always showed potential but just never cracked the rotation on the Rockets.

No you will see big news immediately when you look at "trending topics" you can click on the particular topic you are interested in and you will see what the news is about. On slow news days it's pretty pointless lol I mean if a new CD is coming out that will usually trend things like that. But for example the Giffords shooting trended super fast on Twitter, granted the details were blurry but still news breaks on Twitter. Lkr already answered your second question perfectly. Those hashtags basically initiate the trending topic.

Ya I agree the news just pours in quicker than any other news outlet. But I will say sometimes it's like Wiki lol use it as a stepping stone and go find a reliable source for more info haha. I remember during Christmas so many false reports of death on Twitter
