it is gonna be weird to see koivu in a different jersey, same thing with a few guys who got moved this year but i like the signing. they are loaded with young players, and koivu should compliment that pretty well. ducks are becoming a really good team.

i think you would have to give the most for pujols, or any young MLB star for that matter, but i think NHL is pretty close. i dont feel like going all the back, but ECN had an example trade for ovechkin, and i cant see the caps even close to agreeing to that. it would take a beyond a huge amount to get a guy like ovechkin/malkin/crosby. maybe not as much as for someone like lincecum/pujols, but really damn close. just look at how much the flyers had to give to get an old pronger. that wouldnt even be a quarter of the cost of ovechkin

and how marketable he may be has nothing to do with trade value at all. any team would take skill over how well a player is liked. i would take a hated player like barry bonds or someone over david wright or a fan favorite any day if they could produce more for my team. that is the bottom line

that is stupid. any great player will bring more revenue to a franchise, it doesnt really matter how marketable they are. sure it could help a little but, but long run it really doesnt matter much at all
