Blog #14 So work sucks but I only have to be there until early September so whatever. Anyway on to some music. First I would like to thank xx. for recommending Memory Tapes. The album is awesome, and that is without smoking a j. All my friend smoke so I will def pass it on to them; a must listen for everyone reading this. Another thing is I finally got one of the album I needed to check out this year in Versaemerge's Fixed at Zero and it is definitely very good. If i had to tell you what they are like, I have to use the Paramore comparison but it might be unfair, to Versaemerge. VE is less pop punk and is stronger technically. The other reason they are compared to Paramore is that it is headed by a female backed by an all male band. Check it out no matter what type of music you listen to. I could go on but I'm too lazy. That is all for now, it seems like everyone I know saw Pavement, Band of Horses and Broken Social Scene tonight. Not my type of stuff but whatever. Good night OTR.

Pitchfork, Sputnik, AlternativePunk combined is how to discover music. If you use those 3 and aren't into hip-hop you are set.

It's just not a good album. Hip-hop wise or in the whole musical scheme of things it is just not good. I can see why someone could enjoy it but it just doesn't measure up to other releases this year alone.

The ankle sprain is not a good thing to hear about but stuff happens. Two things come to mind when I see this pick. The first thing I wonder is who would be the other teams that would select Avery Bradley before us. I have to think the Pacers top that list. Kansas being left out of discussions proves the impact college football has and how little college basketball means in the scheme of things. Nebraska, a big football school, has 10x the power KU has and the KU basketball program has more national titles than Nebraska has tournament wins. 3-0. It sucks but every KU fan understands why.

Nebraska is Big Ten bound, Colorado is Pac-10 bound now, meaning Texas and others will follow leaving KSU, Iowa State, Baylor, KU and Mizzou. Mizzou could join Nebraska in the Big 10 or 12, 13 or whatever. KU needs something to break its way.
