Add Ryan Howard and Raul Ibanez to the injury list. The Howard one looks awful.

People said the same thing last year when he was 50x worse. I think it is time to give the job to Ryan Madson, but Charlie has literally pushed every right button with this team since he has been here so he has my full trust with whatever he wants to do.

Good day for this to happen I guess. I just really don't care today. But it's time to hand the 9th inning over to Ryan Madson full time.

Unless he is on a rehab assignment I don't see why he wouldn't be.

For the record, I hope Happ has a nice career in Houston. I like him.

I thought the Pirates did pretty well in the Dotel trade. First time in a while that they didn't get totally schooled while "selling" at the deadline.

The Astros are kicking in a bunch of money on Berkman. He also has a $15 million club option for 2011 with a $2 million buyout. Of the slightly more than $7.15 million remaining on the contract, the Yankees will pay $3,150,273, while Houston will pay $4 million. New York will pay $1.5 million of the $3,672,131 remaining on Wood's $10.5 million salary this year. His contract includes an $11 million team option for 2011.

At most parks I have gone to, they allow this. Usually they let you down there for BP, and then about a half hour before the game they will clear out everyone who doesn't have a ticket down there. I have never been to Dodger Stadium though, but I'm sure it's the same.

Don't get the trade with the Royals. Ankiel is not really an improvement over any of the Braves outfielders and Farnsworth just sucks (although I guess he's been OK this year). Seems like a lateral move.

Kerry Wood may be going to the Yankees.

Ted Lilly and Ryan Theriot for Blake DeWitt and prospects (Brett Wallach and Kyle Smit). I am not sure I understand why Theriot and DeWitt are involved. I'd understand if the Cubs wanted to get rid of Theriot because they have too many middle infielders, but they are taking one back from the Dodgers as well. Interesting. Also, wonder if all this Manny talk is legit or BS.

Wow, Jake Westbrook to the Cardinals and Ryan Ludwick to the Padres (a couple small prospects from San Diego involved in the trade as well - one going to Cleveland and one going to St. Louis). Did not expect Ludwick to be traded, I guess they are totally confident in Jon Jay.

And an FYI on Oswalt's line. Only 3 of those runs should have been earned, not sure what the official scorer at Nationals Park was smoking tonight. Just sayin'. Glad the Phillies defense decided to show up for their new ace tonight.

Give Happ time. All of those base runners and high pitch counts will catch up to him at some point. Very happy the Phillies were able to sell high on him.

I am anxiously awaiting to hear from the knee-jerk reactionary Phillies fans.

"Special" Ed Wade is leaving his mark. He is fantastic at drafting and not much else. So at least there is a little hope for the future, I guess.

And Eklund is reporting that James Wisniewski is getting traded to the Islanders.

Sounds like it's basically a done deal.

The Rangers traded for Cristian Guzman. For a bankrupt team, they are sure making a lot of moves.

White Sox are supposedly about to trade for Edwin Jackson. Daniel Hudson and maybe one other pitching prospect going to the Diamondbacks.

If only the real Jersey Shore was like it is in this show.

Also, this happened a bit earlier, but Matt Capps traded to Minnesota for Wilson Ramos. The Nationals are going to be disgustingly good in a couple years, [expletive].

Got the benefit of a bad call tonight, but hey I will take it. The breaks are starting to go our way, after almost 3 months of the total opposite.
