  1. We really had a great community here back in the day! Glad to see that the site is still around.
  2. Hopefully getting Kelce and Mathis back in the next 2 weeks helps Foles get his shit together
  3. Went to Coyotes/Red Wings in Glendale tonight. Had a great time. So, in the past 2 weeks, I have seen games in two of America's "worst" NHL markets (the other being Columbus) and have had great times. Would love to see the game succeed in both places.
  4. It's March 25th and Kyle Lohse just signed a $33 million contract. That's why Scott Boras is the best around.
  5. Can't wait!! Thanks for grabbing the tickets, sir.
  6. Had a bad feeling he'd go to Texas, but I am glad with how this turned out! Next season will be fun.
  7. I'd say our biggest weakness is, by far, our general manager. Age wouldn't be an issue if the farm system wasn't needlessly destroyed. Not to mention an awful drafting strategy over the past 5 or 6 years that has not worked out at all, but I guess that can't be blamed totally on Amaro.
  8. With every Halladay start, I get more worried. Fastball still hovering in the mid 80s. 9 days until Opening Day. No bueno.
  9. The worst part of this season is going to be seeing Travis D'Arnaud in a Mets uniform at the same time as Roy Halladay's arm falls off .
  10. I really don't think it's too dramatic. Sure they have a few pieces, but every single one is already a top 6 NHL forward. That's it. Not really anything else of value in the entire organization except for Scott Laughton and this upcoming 1st round pick. Then, consider the cap situation, and you can probably understand why I am worried. As for Couturier...he has shown signs of turning his offensive game around, but he still has a lot of work to do there. Very inconsistent, but he has not been getting a lot of ice time lately. Seems to be in Laviolette's doghouse, which is silly to me. If there are any positives to be gained from this season, his development would be at the top of the list. Defensively, he is already an absolute stud. I don't think there is such a thing as "rebuild" for the Flyers, so I don't see them conceding this season any time soon, as dumb as that seems. Ed Snider is getting old, he won't let it happen in his lifetime.
  11. Grantland summed this mess up perfectly... http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/54590/nhl-misery-watch-looking-at-you-flyers-fans Yep, couldn't really put it any better myself. Except I might have mentioned that our farm system is among the worst, if not the worst, in the league.
  12. Less than two weeks away from actual, real MLB games. Sweet. Anyway, Hanley Ramirez hurt his thumb in the WBC and needs surgery according to Rosenthal. Also, the Reds are keeping Aroldis Chapman in the bullpen...WTF.
  13. Yep, surgery tomorrow, done for year, etc etc. Yawn, whatever.
  14. Yep, Andy had full control here for quite a while, especially after Banner and Heckert left. I really dig the approach this offseason. For a variety of reasons, I did not see nearly as much NFL as I'd have liked last season so I won't comment on the individual players we signed, but I am loving the scouting reports I am reading (and getting from Kyle!!!). Of course, none of it really matters until we see exactly what sort of team Chip Kelly is trying to build. But they seem to be addressing all positions of need with low risk/somewhat high reward guys, which is exactly what I wanted.
  15. USA-Dominican Republic is an awesome matchup. Sad to see almost no fans in attendance.
  16. As Bob continues to play very well for the Blue Jackets, the Bryz contract could not look any worse. For the record, I don't hate the Bobrovsky trade on the surface...given the Bryz contract, Bob had to go. No point to keeping him here. I just hate that the team was in a position where they had to trade him. Too bad they didn't hang onto him until after the new CBA...would make a Bryz amnesty a slam dunk. Between that situation, the Schenn/JvR trade, and the generally bad play of the team, could not be a more disappointing year.
  17. Welp, that should just about wrap things up for this season.

  19. I went to the Blue Jackets-Red Wings game in Columbus on Saturday. Really cool place. The Blue Jacket fans were way more impressive than I expected. Speaking of impressive, the game happened to be Sergei Bobrovsky's first career shutout. Which made me happy and sad at the same time.
  20. I'd love for this to become a big deal some day. I think it definitely has the potential to. For now, though, it's hard to take it super seriously, especially when team USA is managed by a man who thinks it is acceptable to bat Giancarlo Stanton 7th... With that said, it's pretty awesome that (somewhat) meaningful baseball is back, so I am enjoying it.
