  1. Yeah. Well I am not saying Utley should have won but Hudson is the closest thing to a surprise on that list. He is a damn good second baseman but I'd have thought that him getting benched for the last part of the regular season would have hurt him.
  2. Apparently Edwin Jackson is being shopped as well. If they are willing to trade those 2 they better be getting some serious value.
  3. Not that I really value the gold glove too much, but Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino each won one today. However, I think they do deserve it. I think everybody who won in the NL deserves it, which is a change from the norm. Usually there is at least one glaring mistake.
  4. Means that if you listen closely on Friday, you will be able to hear everything Matt says loud and clear on TV. It is pretty pathetic though. The other three teams in the city are doing so well attendance wise but the Sixers are doing worse than the Phantoms (minor league hockey) used to do. I don't know if I can blame Stefanski, though. They are just stuck in one of those ruts that only seem to happen in the NBA, and nobody in the area really cares. Just barely good enough to make the playoffs and get rocked in the first round, but not bad enough to get a draft pick that will make that much of an impact. Repeat process year after year. By far my least favorite thing about the NBA.
  5. Derek Jeter....awesome hitter, awesome guy, absolutely not a gold glove shortstop. The voting process is pretty messed up. Rafael Palmeiro won the gold glove for 1B a couple years ago despite being a DH for 145 games and only playing about 10 games at first.
  6. Brag about what? As I said in my initial post in here, I am not trying to be a smart [expletive].. Fish was trying to portray him as a clutch QB, and I pointed out that I'd like to see him win big games down the stretch/in the postseason first. What is wrong with that? Unfortunately for you, it is a valid point. And if you cannot see how laughable your post saying "well at least Romo didn't choke deep in the playoffs" is, then I don't know what to tell you.
  7. You are right, he choked in the regular season instead. The fact that McNabb has even been to multiple conference title games and a Super Bowl shows that he can at least win games after Thanksgiving, something Romo has yet to do. I think this is a tired argument but when you make stupid points like that one, I can't help but laugh.
  8. Depends. If it is Happ/Drabek/Brown/Gose like the rumor was over the summer, then probably not. But I have a feeling the price will come down. I'd give 3 of those 4 though, and perhaps more.
  9. Word out of the GM Meetings is that the Phillies are going hard after Roy Halladay. Not sure if I believe/want to believe this.
  10. Or....individual threads are fine lol. Doesn't really matter at all.
  11. It's better than hundreds of single threads that nobody replies to, IMO.
  12. Just to keep it organized, lets keep everything in here.
  13. Nobody cares about the Sixers. It will be nice on Friday when Diesel and I have an entire section to ourselves .
  14. What is that QB rating in December/January looking like? Honestly, I am not trying to be a smart [expletive], but it's the truth. It's hard to call Romo the most clutch QB in the league when he is generally known as a choker down the stretch.
  15. I am still pissed off over the 4th and inches call and the challenge fiasco. I have been making an effort recently to hold back on blaming officials for all four of my teams, but that was just brutal. The Eagles did not play well and probably deserved to lose, but without that horrible spot there is a pretty good chance they steal the game. Not sure what the officials were looking at once Andy threw the red flag, since I have watched the replay over and over today and it is clear as daylight that the ball was spotted about 6 or 7 inches short of where it should have been. Also, saw an interesting statistic earlier today. The Eagles are somethinbg like 35-6 in their last 41 games when leading after 3 quarters, and are 8-25-1 in that span when trailing after 3 (not sure if the numbers are spot on and I do not feel like looking it up again, but the jist is that there is a big difference). I know this is irrelevant to yesterday's game since we did have the lead after 3, but I'm just saying that Andy continues to show that he is not good at thinking on his feet. If he was half as good at coaching during the games as he is at drawing up game plans, we would probably have 2 or 3 Super Bowls by now.
  16. I think that's pretty much it. Giguere had a pretty horrible contract for a guy sitting on the bench the majority of the time. Toskala's hit isn't a whole lot better, but it is a little bit of relief.
  17. I think we'd be getting ripped off. No deal.
  18. I thought Gustavsson was playing reasonably well.
  19. Lol...considering that there will be about 3,000 people there, it's not like there will be much of a home court advantage anyway.
  20. I want either Beltre or DeRosa. Figgins will likely be too expensive and have too many other suitors. I wouldn't mind bringing Feliz back, and since I have a feeling there won't be much of a market for him we could possibly get him for very cheap, which is more than likely why the $5 million option was declined. I have a feeling it will be DeRosa since Ruben has made it clear he wants more versatility, but my first choice is Beltre. Other things I want to see accomplished.... -Resign Chan Ho Park/Scott Eyre -Sign one of Jose Valverde/Rafael Soriano/Fernando Rodney. I think Rodney is the most likely since Valverde and Soriano are both type A's and will result in a loss of a first round pick. He'd also be the least expensive, I'd imagine. Also I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a flyer on JJ Putz and give him a 1-year incentive-laiden deal. -Find some versatility for the bench. Maybe an Alex Cora or Jerry Hairston Jr. type would be a good place to start. -Sign a backup catcher. I'd suggest Bako but I have a feeling they want a right handed bat. There are plenty to choose from.
  21. Good deal for Milwaukee. Now they can let Cameron go and hand short stop over to Escobar full time.
