  1. For the record, I am forever grateful to Reggie for his effect on Lopez in practices ever since he got here, getting a lot of the softness out of him. I am also grateful to him for his efforts in games where he understood what he is capable of doing and played within his ability. What happened to that Reggie is beyond me. Since mid-December, he has been a frequent disaster. PJ has donned him "emotional leader" of the team, and he is accountable for none of the awful decisions he makes.

Even when he isn't doing anything obviously stupid, just his being on the floor turns the game into a 4-on-5 (frequently 3-on-5 when Wallace is also on the floor, though some of that has to do with PJ's misuse of him), and teams can double off of him to ruin our spacing.

Chances are I would not dislike him as much if he played fifteen minutes a game on average. But the reality is that Humphries should be getting minutes over him, since he can rebound and not be a total black hole on offense. Also, Evans' getting minutes stands in the way of Mirza's development, and that seriously angers me.

And who could forget Reggie running his mouth before the Miami game to get LeBron and company fired up, before proceeding to contribute nothing to the game and dodging the media afterwards. That night summed up my dislike of him in a nutshell.

  2. Reggie's foul trouble forced PJ to play Blatche and Lopez together (something he said he was going to do last week and probably wouldn't have done today if Reggie didn't hit four fouls). To no one's surprise (except PJ's, probably), it worked beautifully.

PJ said he may consider using it for "a few matchups" in the playoffs. Idiot.

  3. Just going to quote what I posted on NetsDaily

I can’t believe there is anyone on this site who actually thinks
PJ should even be considered for next year’s job. Please tell me
what he has done that warrants credit, because for anyone that wants
to say, "you can’t argue against wins," oh hell yes you
    can.

Notable wins: OKC, Indiana, New York (all before 1/21), Indiana,
Denver (no D-Will in either of the last two, but no Gallo or Iggy for
    Denver)

Other wins: Charlotte, Cleveland, Washington (struggled to win in
2OT), Sacramento, Philly, Phoenix, Toronto (nearly blew it), Atlanta,
Minnesota (no Love or Pekovic and it was still sloppy), Orlando,
Chicago (no Noah/Boozer/Hinrich and we barely escaped), Detroit
(struggled), Milwaukee x2 (both close games), New Orleans (we almost
    blew a 20-point lead)

Losses: San Antonio (embarrassed, but PJ just began), Atlanta,
Memphis (demolished), Houston (ugly), Miami (demolished), L.A.
(pathetic), Washington (pathetic, 15-point loss), San Antonio
(demolished), Houston (ugly, were in 20-point hole), Memphis
(pathetic offense, late-game coaching), Dallas (put ourselves in
    another huge hole, ugly)

Not only have we been embarrassed and torn apart in almost all of
our significant games, but we’ve struggled incredibly against teams
we’re supposed to beat. This team looks like a joke to the rest of
the nation because we cannot play for our lives on national
television, AKA the games against strong opponents. And recently,
we’ve lost to both Dallas and L.A., teams with losing records, on
    our own floor.

We’re 3-6 over our last 9 home games. We have three more home
games this month, eight more for the entire season. We have a string
of eight straight road games beginning later this month (and by the
way, there is no off-day right before or right after the trip). We
are headed for a major drop if this garbage continues.

It frustrates me that we are throwing away our first season in
Brooklyn with this moron of a coach who was named our interim after
letting go of clueless idiot #1. We are being coached under the same
damn playbook by a man who could not develop our youth if his
    freaking life depended on it.

This is the third time I’m saying this, and I’m not sure how
realistic this is, but this is frustrating me enough to the point
where I would not argue against pushing PJ out the door right now.
Bring up Bob MacKinnon to coach the rest of the season. He’s
someone within the organization, and he knows a lot about developing
young talent. At least that way, he can develop our youth and this
season does not go to waste. If he does exceptionally well, we
consider him for full-time head coach this summer, otherwise he just
returns to his D-League assignment. But under PJ, not only will this
team go nowhere (and may end up being a first-round exit), but the
development effort will be pathetic and the coach we hire this summer
won’t have much material to use regarding our young talent.

  4. Harlan, Breen, and Eagle are my three favorite play-by-play guys around the league. I've listened to a lot of opponent broadcasts, and maybe it's just a matter of listening to certain TV announcers for an extended period of time, but I am not drawn toward too many of the other callers around the league. Eagle is spectacular for both a Brooklyn fan or opponent's fan watching YES coverage.

YES has a great group of announcers: Eagle/Ruocco on play-by-play and Anthony/Spanarkel/Fratello for color. Nothing beats the Eagle/Fratello combination. Wish they'd use it more.

  5. This is sick. Can't wait to see them on the court together.

The Nets should go ahead and trade for Robin Lopez, Wali.

Wanted so badly for Rod Thorn to do it when Robin's stock was low. God knows what low value we could've given Phoenix way back when to get the brothers together. Robin's values has shot up incredibly this year. I've been wanting to deal Blatche SOMEWHERE, being that he's probably going to command more money this offseason with his impressive play, but at the same time, he's declined as the season's progressed, and I fear he'll turn into a liability. Billy won't do it, though. Seems Humphries/Brooks/first-rounder is all we're dangling, and that's for Smoove.

  6. I didn't care much for it but didn't think it would bother me as much as it did. I found it pretty annoying. They really need to stop adding new twists to Friday and Saturday Night each year and do something about the competitions themselves. Bring back the Rookies vs. Sophomores format, get rid of this East vs. West points nonsense, and come up with something more creative and watchable than Shooting Stars.

  7. Thought losses against Indiana on Monday and Denver tonight were a given. Rest of the team came up big in the absence of Deron both nights. Shooting was lights out today.

I hope D-Will is getting a good amount of rest with these two games off before the All-Star break. Looking to see him come back strong.

  8. The conversation was about why people felt he was a snub. I never once said he should have gone to the game, but was giving numbers to help you understand why others saw him as deserving.. Since all you were able to come up with was 'because Knicks'.

Again, I never once said he should be in the all-star game. But I can start chirping after all JJ's bad games if you want to play that game :)

Nope, didn't think JJ was an All-Star either.

But I do find it preposterous that anyone shooting 40% should be considered a snub, and no, his name probably would not have even come up amidst the outrage if he didn't play in NY or LA.

  9. Did you link the wrong tweet? That doesn't say JR should be an all-star.

That was in response to "40% doesn't warrant selection." Sure sounded like you were making a case for his being selected.

    Also

IDK WALI. Not many good 2s

Not sure what you were arguing here if it wasn't about being an All-Star.
