  1. why would you want to deal him?

obviously he can still run an offense pretty effectively. he's on a modest contract and hes not exactly old.

    why not keep him?

    you must be joking right?

The Raptors are TERRIBLE so anyone of value should be traded so this team can get younger and continue to rebuild. The fact that hes putting up these numbers is good only in the sense that he may now have SOME trade worth, compared to the minimal amount of interest he would experience prior to this december outburst. While i dont think they should make a trade just to make a trade, moving Calderon should still be one of their primary options.

  2. you've got to understand that these teams would be taking on Melo for a one year rental more or less as long as he doesnt sign that extension. So with that in mind i dont see any of these teams except the nets actually biting the bullet and trying to trade for him, because the wolves and kings would have to give away their best players in tyreke and love just for the chance to get him, and in the end he would most definitely leave them come free agency. With that in mind, i could see Melo for T-Will, Murphy, Humphries and a 1st

murphy and humphries are both expirings and would help the depth of the nuggets big men, as there all injured, and T-Will has the potential to be a star, and should take Melos place

  4. great article really outlines the ups and downs of the nets draft

and ya you can still draft well even though you dont have a lotto pick

the spurs still find great pick ups late (Parker, Manu, Hill, etc etc) so sorry, being successful doesnt mean everyone you draft is a scrub

the mid 2000s was rough, but they have a nice core that should return them to prominence by Brooklyn

  5. i think boshs rebounding potential is being inflated a little bit

yes i realize he put up 10+ rebounding numbers last year, but keep in mind that this is for the Raptors

someone has to get defensive rebounds, and its not gonna be Hedo or Bargs

I wouldnt credit Bosh as being a great rebounder, so please stop saying he is

he doesnt go hard after rebounds, and would much rather continue scoring from outside rather than go deep in the post where he could possibly grab 3-4 offensive rebounds per game, but doesnt because he doesnt like contact.

as for the actual debate, id rather have the NY squad because they would actually jell much better, and there is zero question about the roles of each superstar.

we dont even know if LeBron will be playing a point forward, or off ball small forward. with Paul, Amare, Melo, you know exactly who will do what

I really consider Amare and Bosh a wash, theyd offer roughly the same productivity.

if this game came down to three pointers, the only player on either team id trust is Melo, so they get that advantage

MIA has 2 of the best players in the league, so they have that

    still would take NY

  6. it depends on the market

teams like the celtics, lakers can use free agency cuz they are marketable places

whereas a team like the wolves or raps are pretty dependant on the draft or else end up grossly overpaying to have players come play there

for me personally, id chose the draft because its usually cheaper and the player grows with the team, and i think its better for the fans that way

i also hate when teams just buy the players (yankees, lakers)

  7. id say kleiza just so the ball could go to derozan more

plus i think weems would be great off the bench as he is to much like derozan as a player

with kleiza, he has the ability to stretch the floor, which will open more lanes of derozan

really, im guessing derozan will be the 2nd option this yr, so whatever benefits him the most is what the raps should be looking for

  8. gotta disagree

i really dont want any more players on this team to help keep us mediocre at best, id rather keep that spot open for a young player to come in and get playing time and develop

barnes will just insure that we end 10th in the east instead of 12th and will not be worth it
