In the first 3 games of Patrick Patterson's career where he has received significant playing time, he has proven to be worthy of the lottery pick title. He is averaging 8.7 points (10-17 shooting), 7.7 rebounds (3 offensive boards and 4.7 defensive) and 1.3 blocks per game in 24 minutes of action. Rick Adelman also said this in a interview following the Portland game: Incredibly high praise from Adelman especially considering that the Rockets already have strong defenders in Chuck Hayes, Shane Battier, Kyle Lowry and Courtney Lee. I love what I've been seeing from Patterson, the guy seems to have the total package in a young power forward. He's incredibly smart on both ends, he plays great defense, sound offensively (although not great), crashes the boards, and is a team player. Its no wonder that after the draft, Daryl Morey came out and said that he ranked P-Pat 6th on his draft board and was very pleased to be able to take him at 14th.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/7364384.html Thoughts on Phillips taking over the defensive reigns in Houston? Will Mario Williams be able to convert to the 3-4 defense?

Looks like Barrett is going to go face and team up with Cena. *facepalm*

Didn't you post at RSZ before? I remember the username from somewhere. Anyways glad to have you on board. Its good to see another Arsenal fan around here.

The thing is do the Rockets really need another scorer on the team? I loved Chase's bursts off the bench last season but I'd honestly rather have Terrence's passing, rebounds, and defense to go with his slashing and scoring ability. Dude is the total package and has a much, much higher ceiling than Chase. I just don't see why anyone would want Bud on the floor over Terrence unless it meant building his trade value. Also I have to go back to this: I can understand that the Blazers are a tough team to beat at home but they are missing their two core players (their story seems very similar to that of Houston's injuries over the years). It may be just one game but the Rockets losing to an average NBA team on the road isn't a very good sign. Lets face it, the only way the Rockets make it to the second round of the playoffs is if they can avoid a match-up with the Spurs/Mavs/Lakers, which would mean that we would have to be a top 5 team in the West. And honestly I don't think we are even close to that level, and you can forget about the Jazz and Thunder either. The only way I can see Houston making a run in the playoffs is if they can acquire another all-star caliber player (Iggy, etc), and you can't bank on a trade that may or may not happen.

Fair enough. 2 games don't make a season. I could find a 2 game stretch (if not more) where Trevor Ariza was our best player last season. Regardless if whether Budinger is back to his old form, I'd still rather have Terrence out on the floor because he brings so much more to the table than Bud.

Still think that this team can compete in the playoffs? Our last victory against a team above .500 was December 1 against the Lakers. Can we please stop living in this fantasy land that the Rockets are anything more than a mediocre team out West? Terrence Williams and Patrick Patterson were very impressive by the way. Goodbye Bud!

Patrick Patterson is going to be something special.

Can we please just scrap the fan vote completely? I thought last year's were terrible with Yi Jianlian almost making the All-Star, but these returns are just as bad if not worse.

Nets getting frustrated with Denver's demands?

Yeah I know, I was just listing the assets New Jersey would trade since we have no idea who the other two teams are yet. -
Nets getting frustrated with Denver's demands?

On top of that they want a veteran player, an expiring AND a young player. So my guess is Denver's proposed trade is something along the lines of this: Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, 4-5 first round draft picks for Carmelo Anthony + filler. Yeah...good luck with that. -
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/14486778/rebuilding-turning-into-lengthy-process-for-timberwolves The potential lockout is going to scare a lot of players but regardless this is still excellent news for the Wolves organization and their fans. IF Rubio truly gave his word and the buyout has dropped to $1 million (I think it was in the $3-5 million area when he was drafted) then I think Minny is in good shape.

Morey is ALWAYS looking to make an upgrade in the starting lineup or rotation. This is comes as no surprise. -

It would be a great deal for Minny if they can get him at a cheap price. Otherwise I don't think they should try trading for him. -
Hoopsworld: Raptors Interested in Jonny Flynn
Dash replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Absolutely no way the Wolves trade Flynn for just Weems. Not even David Kahn is that inept. -
I turned off the game 5 minutes in because of them.

Maps are garbage, matchmaking is beyond terrible and the gameplay isn't up to par. While Bungie seems to add more features to each new game, I feel like they progressively get worse. Halo 2 >>>>>>>>>>> Halo 3 >> Reach imo
-
Officially done with this disappointment. Reach is now at the back of my shelf and will probably never see the light of day any time soon (assuming I don't sell it to gamestop).
-
I only blame myself for not seeing this coming. -_-

I swear if I have to hear Cena say CM Sucks one more time...

As much as I want Yao to retire a Rocket, its for the best. His contract is whats so valuable. Look at what we got for Tracy McGrady's $23 million expiring contract, now think of the possibilities for Houston when a new CBA is on the horizon. Big expiring contracts and trade exceptions are going to be high in demand at the trade deadline.

Lol that isn't a bad strategy I suppose but Stuckey's averages destroy Brooks' (whose been even more inconsistent) so I'm happy.
