  1. Morrow on the Lakers would be scary, Odom is solid coming off the bench but Morrow would bring a rich offensive game. He'll be an excellent addition to any team.
  2. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ys-goodenbucks070110 $32 million for 5 years? Yikes.
  3. Tweets come from a radio host in Phoenix, apparantely he was quite reliable during the deadline. With all the rumor surrounding Chris Bosh about going to Miami, Amare is not a bad backup and imo is much more likely to obtain especially considering that he was literally one tiny physical away from becoming a Houston Rocket. Battier and Scola were exactly the same two pieces that were involved in the proposed trade with Phoenix at the deadline, interesting that they are once brought up. Maybe they really like Scola as a replacement for Amare and Battier's veteran presence is nothing to overlook, could see Houston throwing in a pick or two (Knicks?).
  4. He is returning. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/celtics/index.php/2010/06/30/source-rivers-staying/ Ah looks like Swish's source was wrong or he changed his mind last minute. Anyways good news for the Celtics.
  5. Brooks can pass but he lacks the point guard mechanics to know when to pass, at least that was the case this past season. As for passing in the post, I don't recall Brooks being particularly good at that area. See this video from game 4 of the Lakers series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L6VDSeQqbM Notice how it is Battier who is mostly passing Yao the ball down low before he just disappears from the game. Roughly around 3 minutes Mark Jackson comments that the Rockets haven't even looked for Yao.
  6. I think it really depends on how much better Brooks becomes as a point guard. His point guard skills are currently among some of the worst in the league. Right now the only player I see in that starting lineup that can Yao the ball down low is Ariza, and maybe Martin if he drives in like he is supposed to. People forget that getting the ball to Yao late in games was one of our biggest problems last season. 3 years ago we had Rafer Alston, Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier all in the starting lineup that could easily spoon feed Yao. 2 years ago it was just Battier and there were some games in the playoffs where Yao did struggle to get shots (see games 2 and 3 in Blazers series although Pryzbilla's defense was a factor).
  7. Amazing! Your skins never disappoint.
  8. Link If true then it might have influenced Pierce's decision to opt out.
  9. The other players in free agency are doing worse.
  10. Very true, it really sucks that we came up short against Ghana but at least there is that. Thing is our two stars from this year's Cup (Howard and Donovan) will be in their thirties for the next one.

  12. I watched a bit of this season and its a bunch of crap, honestly the only time I bother watching this show anymore is when reruns of the earlier seasons are on. If Carell leaves then that is the dagger, meaning ts time to can it.
  13. I agree that it will be a poor move and will continue to plummet Kahn's reputation around the league, but there is little hope to sign him without overpaying him. I seriously hope he doesn't offer the max but rather a $12-$13 per year deal, even then I'm not sure if it still is a good move or if Memphis will match.
  14. Because they'll offer the most money? How else do you expect Minny to get a 20 ppg wing?
  15. http://www.startribune.com/sports/wolves/97358859.html?elr=KArksi8cyaiUo8cyaiUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aULPQL7PQLanchO7DiUr Signing Gay would have made a whole lot more sense if Kahn didn't go all out for wings in the draft. I don't like that Kahn is also planning on overpaying Gay to reel him in. However, not many free agents would even consider signing with Minnesota unless they overpay. There is also the fact that Kahn does have to improve the team if he wants to finally sign Rubio. Just don't do the Al for Gay s&t, that would be just awful.

  17. I guess it makes some sense. The biggest name on our team is a guy who can't even stay healthy for a single season. The next thing to a big name is Kevin Martin, of course we have excellent role players to the side but maybe Houston wants a legitimate all-star because that is what they feel will help land Bosh. Problem is, if Bosh doesn't sign with us then we are left with Joe Johnson on a max contract... I think our chances of landing Bosh depend on which statement he made is true, does he want to be the centerpiece or play with another star? There have been some contradicting stuff for the past few weeks.
  18. In an interview Morey commented that Patterson is a combination of Carl Landry and Chuck Hayes. A little less talented on both ends than those guys but definitely solid. He also said that when the Raptors selected Ed Davis, Morey and the staff began to clap and were all smiles. George and Henry were two other guys we would have given serious consideration had they been available.
  19. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look over a couple of these movies before sending in my list.
  20. Here is a summary of the Pritchard firing intereview posted on another board. Steve Patterson interview: http://www.955thegame.com/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&audioId=4760290 More from Blazersedge: Not hard to see why he got fired IF this is all true.
  21. Some of my family are in Pakistan for a few weeks and since movies are like a dollar over there, they have asked me what movies i want. A few came to mind but most of them were movies I have already seen. So yeah...
  22. Wow such a disappointing loss. It was a great ride while it lasted...
