  1. r/NBA and realgm just don't come close to what this board was. Really glad we back.
  2. I just saw the twitter account tweet something and was totally confused. Awesome to see this place back up!
  3. Reed isn't what he used to be but he's still a hawk and that is what we needed most on our defense. No doubt we'll be going safety in the draft too and groom him to be Reed's replacement in 2 years.
  4. Connor Barwin at $36M for 6 years is a massive overpay. If you're getting the Barwin of 2011 then its a very good signing, but the Connor Barwin of 2012 was pretty much invisible and made no impact whatsoever despite Watt ALWAYS being double-teamed. Connor probably was our most disappointing player last season and I'm glad we let him walk and saved up what little cap room we have. If he returns to form then you got a great player though. Casey was pretty good in 2011 before he went down to injury and last season he was pretty average but still a very versatile player. A bit of an overpay but he could be a great fit in Philly, wish him the best there. Anyways hoping the Texans can sign Ed Reed in the next few days. Houston offered him a $5M per year deal (the same amount Glover Quin got with the Lions) and Reed is looking for around $7M and will shop himself around some more, but I'm pretty confident he won't get anything nearly that high and he'll sign.
  5. Eh. Memphis was literally the worst matchup for San Antonio that year and the Grizz have been a top 4 seed since that upset (even took the Thunder to 7 games the same year. Simply panning the Grizzlies as an 8th seed is unfair), and last year the Spurs were on an incredible roll (are we just going to forget how great they were in the postseason last year?) but just ran into a much better team in OKC. Plenty of reasons to want to avoid the Spurs with the biggest being Tim Duncan's resurgent year (top 8ish player this season) and Tony Parker probably ripping Nash to shreds. If I'm one of San Antonio/OKC/LAC/Denver, I'm not afraid of the Lakers. They're on a roll now but they still only have 2 significant threats in the perimeter (Kobe and Nash, granted the former has been unbelievable lately), no depth whatsoever, and they are a bottom 3 defensive team in the NBA whenever Dwight sits (12th when he's on the floor). Generally that isn't a formula for winning in a playoff setting even if Kobe has been playing like a top 3 player in the last month.
  6. Yeah he's awful. Unbelievable BC wants to sign him to an extension already. Not only are you locked into that contract but he's playing terrible basketball. This trade just looks worse by the day.
  7. Beverly was great, can't complain about him playing the final 13 mins over Lin (how does Daryl keeping these guys?). T-Rob's confidence boost is gonna help us long-term. Edit: that lineup would have been amazing defensively. Bev and T-Rob were spectacle tonight on defense...throw in Asik along with Parsons? Dammit McHale.
  8. Yeah. 22 mins and 15 rebounds...yet on the bench. WTF
  9. Really good game though. Bright spot was that Thomas Robinson was playing down the stretch and looked really good with a few key defensive plays. Still Asik needed to be in the game. This should do a ton for Robinson's confidence.
  10. This one's on McHale. Omer Asik is on the bench the ENTIRE 4th quarter? Seriously?

  12. Delfino has been playing hurt these past 3-4 games and on an average night from him, that lineup is money. We probably would have been better off with him on the floor, just having another 7 footer when the ball was getting tipped around in the final minute could have saved us the game but hindsight is 20-20. When the game is on the line gotta go with whats proven to work. I've been hyped about Motiejunas for about 5 years now lol. Trust me, no one else wants him on the court more than I do and its terrific to see him producing like this as a rookie.
  13. Lol. As for playing Delfino at the 4, its our best lineup easily. Therefore it only makes sense to close the game out with it especially on a night where Asik is hauling in 22 rebounds anyways. Eventually I'm sure Motiejunas will be the one closing out games but I'm not going to bash McHale for keeping him out late in the game when its his first career start (and only a few games since he's joined the rotation).
  14. That was such a HORRIBLE play but the shot somehow went in. Jennings got bailed the [expletive] out. Ugh.
  15. Finally through my exams. I must have slept for no more than 3-4 hours between Sunday and Tuesday + had to work an 8 hour shift right after my last test. Pretty sure I got all A's though except maybe my anatomy lab exam.
  16. MVP candidate Tony Parker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lillard.
  17. Didn't Lin have to make a huge adjustment himself? The Lin and Harden backcourt early on just wasn't clicking at all, Lin needed the ball in his hands and was turned into an inefficient spot-up shooter with Harden mostly dominating the basketball. He was downright awful to watch when Kelvin Sampson was filling in as head coach. Not the case since McHale's return, Lin has improved his shooting immensely (47% from the field and behind the arc in his last 11 games, not counting the poor game tonight because he was obviously sick) and has learned how to be effective next to Harden.. I honestly I wouldn't call him a disappointment at all, his transformation as a defensive player and recently as a shooter have both been pleasant surprises and make him a better all-around player this year. Harden and Kobe is debatable if you ask me. After Lebron, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Tony Parker I don't see any player having without a doubt a better season than Harden. The homer in me wants to pick Harden for putting up insane efficiency numbers (60.2 TS%) while at the same time leading a team without a true #2 or even a #3 (unless Lin is going off, which has been inconsistent and he was a nonfactor early on) to a playoff spot in the West while the other has his team on the outside looking in. Not the best backcourt just yet but give it another year and Harden - Lin will be especially if both continue to progress their individual games this quickly. If Lin could be a more consistent shooter like he has been this month and Harden works on his defensive game over the offseason (because its nonexistent) then its their title to lose.
  18. 5th seems like a huge reach for us, 7th is probably likely with 6th being possible with Golden State slipping lately.
