  1. Oh c'mon man. You of all people should know that the U.S. has no business in a game against a team like Brazil.
  2. When exactly was this? I've been around since the summer of 2008, but don't remember anything like this. Then again, I wasn't nearly as active as I am now back then.
  3. I think you're confusing Bruce Arena, who coached the team for the 2002 and 2006 World Cups with Bob Bradley who was the coach during the 2010 World Cup. Anyways, back to your original statement regarding Jurgen Klinsmann being a terrible coach, what exactly makes you think this? I'm just curious to see what an outsiders prospective is.
  4. I understand that his rhetoric hasn't exactly translated into the results and final product many thought it would, but then again, did you expect him to turn this team around in a 14-month span? I surely didn't.
  5. Worst part about them is that thunder isn't even spelled right in that first image.
  6. I'm not too worried about Donovan missing out on these two qualifiers mainly because we just need a win on Friday against Antigua & Barbuda (already beat them 3-1) to control their own destiny. I meant to make a post earlier this this week about the roster that was released Monday, but just haven't gotten around to it until now. GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) DEFENDERS (8): Carlos Bocanegra (Racing Santander), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Maurice Edu (Stoke City), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Michael Parkhurst (Nordsjaelland) MIDFIELDERS (8): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Roma), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City) FORWARDS (5): Clint Dempsey (Tottenham Hotspur), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Herculez Gomez (Santos), Alan Gordon (San Jose Earthquakes), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders) The one glaring surprise comes at the forward position as Jozy Altidore was left out and I'm stunned. While Altidore hasn't been able to translate his club success to the national team, he's unquestionably the most talented striker on the team. Appears as though Klinsmann was not satisfied with the effort and work that Jozy was putting forth. Hopefully this omission just motivates Jozy even more.
  7. Braves like error by Scott Rolen allows Giants to score and take the lead.
  8. And that's exactly how I feel as it seems like we're just cruising along not wanting to discuss/think about the problems concerning the site, mainly the interest that potential new members would have.
  9. Shaliq, I didn't say that you were violating the guidelines by just posting a block of text and a link, I was just saying how when you do that not much discussion, if any in some cases, comes from it. EDIT - I guess I'm just suggesting that you post your thoughts on the article and maybe people will post replies, in reply to your thoughts, as well as the article itself, thus creating some good discussion.
  10. Wow, didn't know you despised me that much. What has brought on all this hated toward me recently? I don't like it.
  11. While I generally agree with this, I think it's the kind of activity that he brings that causes problems with most people. I think it's fair to say that quite a few people, myself included (sometimes), feel that he posts just for the sake of increasing his post count. Some threads that come to mind off the top of my head are the predict the score game he basically played by himself and the random clippers discussion thread. IIRC, he had a substantial amount of posts in each of the threads with not many, if any, replies from other members. Another thing that comes to mind are the threads that he makes for NBA news and what not. When posting news, he usually just quotes a couple of paragraphs and leaves a link. From what I've observed, not many people tend to reply to them. Now whether he it's because he just simply posted a block of text with a link (I've been guilty of this in the past, but have come to realize the effectiveness of leaving my own thoughts) and no thoughts of his own or just that people simply aren't interested in the topics he posts is to be debated I guess. Sorry if this comes out the wrong way, I just can't think of an easy way to type it. Also, FWIW, me and Shaliq are good pals and talk frequently outside of OTR.
  12. He's a trickster though. http://i.imgur.com/DvHnl.jpg
  13. What kind of small adjustments do you have in mind?
  14. Screaming A. Smith is done with Alex Rodriguez. Should be a video up later on YouTube of it.
  15. If newer members really don't feel welcome shouldn't something be done about that, especially if you've had multiple members PM you telling you that? Heck, I'm sure other members have had the same feelings, but just not expressed them to you. I understand that by removing the members that it would probably result in less activity, but I would think that in the long run it would pay off.
  16. So do we have some sort of plan? I just feel like we're going nowhere but down.
  17. Really don't care to join any other site. Use to post on a lot of other sites but just don't have the desire to anymore. DH is the only forum I have actively posted on in a couple of years.
  18. How do we go about bringing in more members, which would hopefully lead to more activity? We have the Twitter and Facebook pages, but those don't seem to do anything. The site seems to be getting more and more inactive by the day and I don't even know if we get 100+ posts on a daily basis anymore. Even on Sunday's when NFL football is on, there hasn't been nearly as much discussion as there was last season. Kind of feel like one day I'll sign in and there won't be any new posts.
  19. Talk about a nightmare of a weekend for Aaron Murray. From his worst game of the season in 35-7 loss to South Carolina, to coming home and finding his house egged and rolled with toilet paper, and then finding out that his father had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and was to undergo surgery today. Probably the worst 12 hours of my life but I know my family will push through. Keep my dad in your prayers please — Aaron Murray (@aaronmurray11) October 7, 2012 Some people really take the game too seriously and no one deserves what has happened to him.
  20. Can't wait to see the "larger role" that Tim Tebow will play in the Jets offense tonight.

  22. Crazy seeing Nate McLouth actually doing something productive, especially considering it's October.
  23. Didn't realize that the Pittsburgh/Syracuse game was a Friday game, so I didn't count it. As always, please check over your score to make sure it's accurate.
