  1. Rumors are one thing, but with news I totally agree with you.
  2. Watch, they'll offer him $12 million per season too.
  3. Can Richardson be traded that soon after being acquired by the Clippers? I thought there was a rule against that.
  4. This is like the kind of deal that happens in a Sim League but gets vetoed because one of the GM's was getting ready to quit anyways.
  5. Magic and Lakers are going after him too. One of the contenders is going to be amazing after all of this.
  6. http://www.nike.com/nikebasketball/emea/assets/images/family/nba/players/profile/courtney_lee.jpg The guy can do it all.
  7. Why go to the Nets when the Magic can offer just as much, a starting job alongside All-Stars, and a chance at a ring.
  8. Big superstars always resign with their teams. Orlando had a [expletive]load of cap room ready the last time LeBron, Wade, Melo, Billups, etc. were hitting the market but they all stayed with their teams. In the end, New Jersey will likely be using this money on good players but nobody great like we did with Rashard.
  9. I just read that the Raptors offered him $60 million!? What the hell? Take him! $12 million a year?
  10. What the hell is Dumars thinking? I told you guys it was just a matter of time before people starting get skeptic of him. Just wait.
  11. I wouldn't trade a ball rack for Dalembert. What is Houston thinking?

  13. Damn, what are they thinking? They're spending way too much money on these guys. Not to mention their both mediocre defenders. Weird moves for Detroit.
  14. This would be a great Plan B if we can't get Sheed or Bass. We could sign him with part of our MLE and then use the other part on a backup SF. EDIT: Damn, right after I posted this I saw this article: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/celtics/view.bg?articleid=1182483&srvc=sports&position=0 Me and Otis think alike.
  15. We have no choice. Dude is going to be sick as a starter though.
  16. Blazers would be a weird fit for him. Are you guys a pick and roll team? This was a last ditch attempt to extend him though, it was obvious he was going to try to get his last payday.
  17. Not to mention that VC helps us in the 2010 offseason since $18 million will come off the books. Plus, no way is Alston, Lee, and Battie better. Battie is a chucker, Alston would be making way too much with a backup and butted heads with Van Gundy in the playoffs. Lee is sickness and it sucks to see him go but Carter is clearly the better player. No doubt we're a better team because of the deal and it worked for both sides since they were rebuilding.
  18. Yeah, we're over the tax now. It sounds like we're still gonna make him an offer though and talks aren't dead so we'll see what happens. It does seem like the obvious answer to assume he's gone but I think we're basically thinking, "If we're going to go over, we might as well go all out." That could mean bringing Turkoglu back and having a potential All-Star at every position.
  19. Bass would be great if we can't bring in Rasheed. The only thing is, would he start? Because if he does and we don't resign Hedo, that pushes Lewis back to small forward and we no longer go small. We'll have a more traditional lineup and that could either help us or hurt us. We'd have better interior defense and rebounding but part of our identity as team would be gone. It'll be interesting to see if we Nelson, Carter, Pietrus, Lewis, Howard with Bass coming off the bench like Gortat did or throw him in the starting lineup and go big. But let's focus on signing him first.
  20. If I'm a Raptors or Blazers fan, I agree with you bluedevil. You guys are about to spend $10-11 million on him which is way too much if you ask me. On the Magic, Hedo plays like a $10 million per year guy but it's because of our system, his role in the offense, etc. We have the perfect offense for him because he can shoot as much as he wants, has a big man down low which opens things up for him, he's alongside Rashard Lewis who really eases the load for him, and he is a great pick and roll player which we run nearly every possession. If the team signing Hedo doesn't run the pick and role, have another reliable wing scorer, and a big man then you won't see the same results. There is a reason that Turkoglu was never a great player until he was surrounded by three guys who were each All-Stars last season. Sure, his confidence has gone up and he can probably contribute but if you're expecting more than 15-18 points per game and a couple rebounds and assists then you'll be disappointed. He's worth $10 million a year to the Magic because he's a perfect fit for our scheme and he has chemistry with our guys but for another franchise? No way.
  21. Ohh, Today's Active Content is what I'll have to use. Thanks guys.
