Kings Trade Nocioni, Hawes For Sixers Dalembert

Recommended Posts

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to swap Samuel Dalembert to the Sacramento Kings for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes, two league sources told ESPN.com.

The deal was agreed to on Tuesday night and the two teams have been working out details Thursday morning. Barring some last minute hitch the trade should be completed as early as Thursday afternoon, according to the sources.

The deal will give the Kings a player they've long coveted in Dalembert. The Kings tried to make several deals with the Sixers last year for Dalembert but couldn't make it happen.

Not a bad trade for both teams.

Sacramento gets their defensive minded big (at least when Dalembert has his head on straight) and manage to dump Nocioni's contract. They have a pretty nice rotation of big men now with Dalembert, Thompson, Landry and whoever they pick at 5, so Cousins or Monroe). That is a solid rotation. The Kings have done a nice job of building this team up in my opinion.

As for Philly, they finally get rid of Dalembert. This leaves them pretty thin at the 5 though with just Speights and Hawes, so perhaps the rumors about them wanting to acquire a late lottery pick may come true.

Anyways, solid deal for both teams.

EDIT: Didn't see the thread in the Sixers forum. Sorry about making a 2nd thread.

Don't worry about the re-post, it can go into both team forums.

Nice deal for Philly. Sacramento gets Dalembert, which really seems to be the downgrade, but they do dump Nocioni's contract (four years, TO on the fourth).

I don't like how the Kings gave up so quickly on Hawes but considering that they are likely going to get Cousins or Monroe in the draft, I guess it makes sense. Also frees up some cap space for them next season.

Overall good trade for both sides.
