Yeah I was surprised when I saw that name too. He seems like a top 5 player for 2012. The most surprising part is he's a Kansas guy. Still a lot of time left, but I'm loving what I'm seeing out of Pastner from the recruiting standpoint.

Iverson, Rudy Gay, and Penny Hardaway will all attend Memphis Madness tomorrow. I've heard Rudy and Penny will both be judges in the dunk contest.

No Tigers in preseason C-USA team, which is understandable, even though I think Elliot Williams is the most talented player in C-USA.

Pierre Niles is down to 266 pounds and is confident he will be 260, his goal, by the start of the season. This guy was nearly 370 pounds last summer.

Bunch of recruits were at the Tigers first practice yesterday. Prospects included Will Barton, Antonio Barton, Chris Crawford, Joe Jackson, Jelan Kendrick, Hippolyte Tsafack, Adonis Thomas, Trevor Lacey, Nino Johnson, David Gardner and others.

If you told me bringing in PAstner would change one thing, the last thing I would think is making Memphis a team good at the three ball.

In other news, Doneal Mack is a cuttie.

You can really notice all the weight he lost, 100 pounds in a year.

Will Coleman's "kiss the rim" dunk

Watching a stream of an exhibition game right now against a local religious school, not sure what division.

A few things I've noticed:

- Lots of pressure on defense. I've seen all man to man defense so far. It's a turnover causing defense from what I've noticed.

- The offense is more organized. More screens are being set, more ball movement. A lot of penetration just like since Calipari.

- Team is very green. Don't expect big things this year.

- Fan turnout is great. A packed house for an exhibition game is pretty impressive.

- Still can't make freebees.

Really liking Elliot Williams. Great athlete, great penetrator, and a respectable defender. He fits the system well.

Wesley Witherspoon is looking much better on defense. Much more aggressive than last year. A lot of scouts say he is the best prospect on the team, he just doesn't have the work ethic.

Seeing a lot of full court press.

Will Coleman's first game = 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks, only 1 foul. It's Jackson St. but it's not a bad stat line at all.

We took 24 three but only made 8.

Elliot Williams had 19 points but took way to many threes. He gets to the line a lot though.

I went to the game last night. Our offense struggled to open the game up and than got hot from behind the arc. Central Arkansas played a lot of 2-3 zone and we really hurt them with our three point shooting. This is the first game in a while where the Tigers have actually shot well from behind the arc the entire game.

Elliot Williams is going to be a POY candidate once he gets a jumper and starts sharing the ball more. He takes stupid shots early in the shot clock a lot. His defense is great and is by far our best perimeter defender. He made four threes last night, but his release is still awkward and he misses a bunch. He penetrates as well as anyone I have seen and once he improves his jumper, he'll be a good NBA prospect IMO.

Elliot Williams had a near triple-double last night with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Nice to see he's passing it more.

Will Coleman sucks. He had Joey Dorsey comparisons, but he isn't skilled at all and can't rebound for [expletive]. He's just a huge guy with athleticism.

We'll have to rally around the home crowd tomorrow to beat Tennessee because they are certainly the better team at this point and are probably even better coached, and that's saying something considering Bruce Pearl is at the helm. If we play like we did against Kansas by griding it out and just out working Them, than we have a slim chance to keep it close, but Tennessee is just light years ahead of us talent wise.

Anderson, Dorsey teaming again

Antonio Anderson, who tried out for but didn't make the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, and Joey Dorsey, who has been fighting to gain a foothold with the Houston Rockets, are teammates for the NBA Development League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Dorsey averages 14.4 points and 13.6 rebounds, but has put up a troubling 4 turnovers a game. Anderson is averaging 17.5 points in 41 minutes per game, along with nearly 7 assists.
