pitcher vs batter question

Do you guys think that a batter that has faced a pitcher little to no times has a DISADVANTAGE over the pitcher, due to the lack of experience against that pitcher? I'm asking this because I said that Crain should have not pitched against Teixeira. I thought that either Fuentes or Mijares should have done so. This guy said that keeping Crain out there was a good idea since he was the best bullpen pitcher since late June and that my match-up stats were bad...

Tex. vs. Crain:

3-9. 2B and a 2-run HR.

Tex. vs. Fuentes:

0-2

Tex. vs Mijares:

0-1

Sorry if my question was worded incorrectly... since I have to get to bed for work right now. -_- and of course.. WRONG SUB-FORUM!!!

It depends on the pitcher/batter. Now-a-days, with all the video and scouting reports, the batters have a pretty good idea what the pitcher is going to throw, but I'm sure there is a comfort level against guys they have faced before. I think good pitching always beats good hitting, so definitely advantage pitcher in that situation.
