The Magic may be getting closer to bringing Fran Vazquez overseas and into the NBA.

The Spanish forward is warming to the idea of coming to the NBA for the 2011-12 season, according to a report in the Orlando Sentinel.

Vazquez has another year left on his contract with FC Barcelona.

"It's more open now than it has been in the past with Fran," Magic assistant general manager Dave Twardzik told the Sentinel.

Orlando drafted Vazquez with the 11th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.

I don't really know all that much about this kid, but he sounds like he has a ton of talent. Just got done watching a video of him, and he looks like he'd be a great addition for Orlando. Does anyone know much about this kid? If you do please share what you know about his game, and what will translate to the NBA.

Thoughts?

He's a very good PF/C, works hard, does the dirty work, decent jumpshot and he can understand the systems. It would be great news for Orlando if this was three, four years ago. He's probably too old to become a significant piece in a team that has Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis.

He should have came over a few years ago. With Orton and Gortat behind Howard now, I find it very hard that the Magic will be able to utilise him well even if he does agree to join the team. They might be able to trade his rights to another team though.
