Billups Isn't Worried About Carmelo Because He Can't Control Outcome

Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups is constantly asked about the future of teammate Carmelo Anthony, but he is never able to provide a valid answer.

 

"I've taken myself all the way out of it," Billups said. "We can't control it, so why would I give it that much thought? All I can do is hope for the best for our team and for the city, and you know what that is — him staying here for as long as possible — but that's all I can really do.

Do you guys think if Melo leaves then Billups will leave when he gets the oppurtunity to? Apparently he has a team option at the end of season and I'm sure the Nuggets are going to accept it and try keep him in Denver.

For financial reasons, it might be best for Nuggets to move him... if we don't win games when Melo is traded (which I doubt).

 

But sometimes, it's not all about business. The Nuggets surely will consider keeping him...

Billups is so out of Denver if Meloman moves. Send Billups somewhere to where he can win and be that active veteran leader that he's proven to be. Teams like Houston, Portland or Memphis where he could really push those teams over the top.
