Top 5 Jim Carrey Movies ?

Recommended Posts

Okay htown and I decided that we would do a top five favorite movies for different actors every week from now on. This to add some movie discussion on this forum. So every week either him or I will ask you what are your five favorite movies from a particular actor. I hope most people will participate. ;)

Anyway I'm gonna start this with Jim Carrey. One of the best comic actors ever, his presence alone is enough to have a good movie. Without him most of his movies would be alright at best, but thanks to his incredible performances, his movies are just amazing.

So just mention your five favorite movies with Jim Carrey.

Here are mines :

Me, Myself and Irene

Only him could play in that one.. Honestly, other than him, who could have played this schizophrenic guy ? Especially the scene in the end in which he fights himself lol...

So many great lines in this movies... Like those ones for instance :

"Vagiclean ? What's the matter honey ? A lil extra cheese on the taco ?"

"- Hey big guy did you hear the news ? My son Billy got the lead in the high school musical.

- Well I guess he likes the cock after all."

"- I'm gonna tell my daddy on you Charlie.

- Wrong answer. And the name's Hank [expletive] face."

"- Stay away from me Hank ! I know what you had planned. I saw your so-called supplies.

- Oh that ? Well I wasn't gonna just ram it home you know... I was gonna lube it up and ease it in there inch by inch, like a gentleman.."

"Holy Jesus in heaven, it's a giant Q-Tip !"

Lol and so many others.

Dumb and Dumber

I hesitated between Me, Myself and that one for number one. Awesome, impossible not to like that one haha.

Some of my fav lines :

"I got robbed by a sweet ol' lady on a motorised kart... And I didn't even see it comin" !"

"You sold my dead bird to a blind kid ?!"

"- Uh oh.

- What, what's the matter ?

- You spilt the salt ! That's what's the matter."

"I desperatly wanna make love to a schoolboy !"

"- What you think the chances are that a guy a like you and a girl like me, uh... ending up together.

- Like one out of a million.

- So you're a telling me there's a chance... YEAH !!"

Liar, Liar

"- Hi Mr Reede ? Like the new dress ?

- Whatever takes the focus off your head."

The Cable Guy

I LOVE THIS GAME !!

The Mask

Don't like this one as much as the other four ones (who are my very favorite by far), but still a very good one, besides it's the movie that made Carrey famous so it has to be mentioned in my top 5 haha.

Bonus :

It's not a movie scene but it's still one of my very favorite Carrey clips ever, simply hilarious, I can watch it over and over again lol :

I think this will be a cool idea, with basketball nearing a close :( this could be a fun way to discuss some of our favorite movies, I also hope people participate each week. :glasses:

Jim Carrey is an amazing actor, his classics far outweigh his recent stuff but at the end of the day you walk out of the theater happy after watching his movies, just seems like he was born to do this.

My top 5

1. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/dumbanddumber.jpg

Absolutely love Dumb and Dumber, they play this movie all the time on TBS and that's just fine with me I always catch myself repeating it, such a quotable movie.

2. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/liarliar.jpg

Liar Liar accomplishes so much between comedy, lies, and truth. At the end of it all it's such a relatable story for a busy parent who loves his kid but never really has a chance to show it because of work. Lying is just easier....

3. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/themask.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSlkO41Y9I4

I love the mask it brings back memories for me. I used to watch this all the time when I was little. It's a funny story and only Jim could really bring out the comedy in that character. BTW Cameron Diaz has never looked hotter, she isn't a stick in this movie, she's actually got curves in all the right places :glasses:

4. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/eternal.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5Y2MandRso

I had to pick one oddball out of all this, and Eternal is the one. Excellent film still has its doses of comedy all around impressive acting by Jim.

5. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/memyself.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZoF93EJvbU

Lol Jims craziest role IMO too funny to not appreciate. I am not a huge fan of this film but it is a memorable role that Jim plays, Oliver summed it up well, I mean seriously who could play this role so well other than Jim it's insane.

True Jim's performance is really good in that movie, he definitely showed that he is an excellent "serious" actor. Although I didn't mention it personally cause I still prefer his funny roles... Besides the movie was quite good but could have been better in my opinion.

Still an amazing performance indeed.

Nice videos lol, I love those scene as well man. Glad to see that someone else likes Cable Guy too. ;)

Haha thanks, Cable Guy is a classic, I'm surprised more people don't love it...

btw your Liar Liar quote is great, I wish I could find that scene, probably the best scene in the movie.

Fat Coworker: What's Up, Fletcher?

Fletcher: Your cholesterol, Fatty! Dead man walkin'!

Randy: Hey, Fletcher!

Fletcher: Hey! You're not important enough to remember!

Zit Boy: What'll it be, Fletcher?

Fletcher: A pock mark, eventually!

Gretta: Mr. Reede?

Fletcher: Don't ask! For God sake, don't ask!

LOL yeah thanks man, I love that scene, my favorite scene of the movie as well, I tried to find it on Youtube all day long but couldn't find it either... That's too bad. The "You're not important enough to remember" is my very favorite line of the movie LOL.

I actually really like that movie as well, I'd probably have it as 6th or 7th, but it just doesn't beat out the other 5 I listed.

hahaha yes, the part in the dream where Jim Carrey tries to pretend he's leaving by saying "see ya! byeeeeeee" in a fading voice and making fake footsteps.. hilarious

If I made a list, this would be on it.. seeing him thrive in a such a serious role was nice.
