The issue with Ellis is he's a tweener; he's an explosive scoring SG in a PG's body. Therefor, it is very difficult to pair him up with the right kind of backcourt player to balance him out in a starting lineup and win an NBA title. Ellis is a more explosive volume scorer than Johnson, but Johnson is usually slightly more efficient scoring the ball, more under control and efficent as a ballhandler/playmker, a better rebounder and better defender.
