Obviously this is derived from the Hornets trade rumors.. If you're the Hornets, who would you rather build around? Never mind the other players potentially involved in the thread, just focus on these two. Keep in mind the Hornets have holes at both guard positions, so you really can't go wrong with either.

Coming into the league, no one thought of Curry as anything more than a shooter, but after last year, he has the makings of a top PG in this league. His court vision and passing ability is underrated by many, and he has one of the purest jumpers in the league. If there's one player in the league right now with the ability to break Ray Allen's three point record (or at the very least come close to it), it's him. He's still a work in progress, he needs to lower his turnover rate, but the foundation is there. It's also worth noting that in the 17 games Monta Ellis missed last season, Curry averaged over 23ppg and 8 apg.

In his first two years Eric Gordon was always known as an efficient scorer with a limited role on the team, but after last year it's safe to assume he has the potential to be a top SG in the league. Honestly, I can't think of anyone who can rival him other than Wade and Kobe in two years should he develop accordingly. He averaged 22PPG, 45%FG and 4.4apg on 18.5PER last year. Not to mention he's a great defender and can get to the rim at will.

Gordon for me.

What seperates him from Curry is that Gordon has elite/near elite potential on both ends of the floor as opposed to Curry who, as great as he is/can be offensively, he is not much of a defender. Gordon has the ability to play lockdown defense on both 1's and 2's while chipping in with 20-25 points and 3-5 assists a night.
