Report: Warriors Trading Amundson to Pacers for Rush

Recommended Posts

OAKLAND – Looks like the Warriors aren’t quite done dealing this offseason. According to the Bay Area News Group, the team is in the process of trading forward Lou Amundson to Indiana for small forward Brandon Rush.

Amundson did not dress for Saturday’s exhibition season opener against the Sacramento Kings. When coach Mark Jackson was asked afterward why Amundson didn’t dress, he responded … “Just didn’t dress. That will be discussed … just didn’t dress.”

If the Warriors trade Amundson, it means they’ll be heading into the season with the following big men: Andris Biedrins, Kwame Brown, David Lee, Ekpe Udoh and Jeremy Tyler.

Rush, entering his fourth year in the league, played 67 games last season for the Pacers and averaged 9.1 points in 26 minutes per game.

I really like this for the Warriors. They had a bit of a log jam at the bigs after signing Kwame and they were able to address that by picking up a very solid shooting guard.

I wanted the Dubs to pick Rush in the draft a couple of seasons ago and felt like he could have become something real special in the league. I think he will do well for us, but probably not at an all-star level like I previously had thought.
