The New Jersey Nets have reached agreement with veteran guard DeShawn Stevenson on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Thursday.

I guess he is going to play more SF than SG given that they have Morrow and Brooks already at the 2-guard spot. I am not sure where AK47 fits into the equation now.

I like this pick up. We really needed help at SF and for a one year deal Stevenson is a solid pick up. Also, the Nets announced they waived small forward Stephen Graham. LOL, I remember when Jay-Z dissed him in a song.... that's going to be awkward haha

They have Shawne Williams and Damion James too right? It's nice depth, but I don't know which one Avery would start out of those 2 and Stevenson.

Yeah. Some people are saying they are adding depth in case we trade Morrow to Orlando as part of the Dwight deal. I'm not buying that but it does make sense.

Either way, Stevenson is a huge upgrade from Graham.

Deshawn isn't a SF though. My guess is that the Nets don't trust Marshon yet, his game needs maturing and he looked lost on the court last night. They also desperately need some perimeter defenders.

Meh, he can play both SG and SF imo. I think he was more of an upgrade from Graham than anything else.
