Nets' Wallace returns to Portland

  •
  • Tonight’s return of forward Gerald Wallace — sent to New Jersey by Portland at the trade deadline on March 16 — is the biggest story line. In 10 games with the Nets, Wallace has averaged 13.8 points and 7.0 rebounds. “We’ve never had a three-man with his experience and resume,” coach Avery Johnson said. Wallace called the trade “kind of shocking.” “I didn’t see it coming,” he said. “I didn’t even think I was on the trading block. Nobody told me anything about it. But it’s a business, and you get used to it.” When Wallace arrived in Portland after a deal with Charlotte at last year’s trade deadline, he admitted to extra motivation facing the Bobcats the first time. Not so this time. “I just want to help us win a game,” he said.
