Kobe won't play.

NEW ORLEANS -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant will not play Monday night against the New Orleans Hornets, sitting out a second consecutive game with an inflamed left shin.

Longtime Lakers trainer Gary Vitti evaluated Bryant on Monday morning and said Bryant's condition is improving, but that the 16-year veteran still needs more rest.

Bryant wore a walking boot following shootaround Monday and chatted with teammate Ramon Sessions on the bench, but declined to speak to reporters.

Lakers coach Mike Brown said Devin Ebanks would "most likely" start in Bryant's place -- as Ebanks did in the Lakers' 125-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

I agree with Metta - Smith had no chance of doing anything...

Of course he had no chance to do anything, the ball was like a few feet away from the basket and if he had been paying attention it would have been a bucket.

Smith is not Kobe or Michael Jordan. Plus Matt Barnes was there in his grill. So it's not like it would have been a 100% bucket.

Kobe and Jordan are the only ones who can grab a loose ball and score from a few feet? What are you smoking brah because it might be laced.
