Game 62: 80-98 vs. DET (29-33, 8th West)

http://media.theinsiders.com/Media/Other/229031_victory.GIF 500 NBA Gamez, BABY!!! That's Right! It was Corey's Fifth Hundred!!

http://www.nba.com/media/clippers/DETLAC_070311_400B.jpg

Corey Maggette had a team-high 19 points in his 500th game in the NBA.

The Clippers grabbed an early four-point lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter, but could not keep the pace in the 98-80 home loss to the Pistons. Corey Maggette scored a team-high 19 points, while Tim Thomas had 16 off the bench.

Corey on the Clippers' playoff aspirations...

We need to go .500 on the road trip to make some type of push in the playoff race. We need to stay positive and stay together; we just cannot get down. If we get down we will go down the tubes. Right now we still have a chance to make a run.

Corey Maggette had 21 points and 4 boards (+ 1 assist, 1stl) on Wednesday but his Clippers couldn't make up the difference during a 116-100 home loss to the Warriors.

Only weeks after Maggette reached the 9000-point plateau, the 9-year veteran forward accomplished another feat -- Corey registered his 500th game in a Clippers uniform! That's the fourth highest total in franchise history.

This Clippers memorabilia really brings back some memories. It's great to watch the Clippers getting ready to make a playoff push. I wonder how influential Nick Young will be.

I remember this game! It was an exciting finish that's for sure. The good old days when Maggette and Hart were big names around Clippers fans. Now it's CP3 and Griffin, the names have changed, but the game has not.

Game 71: LAC @ SAS 88-97 (21-50, 5th Pacific) March 25th 2008

Corey Maggette's Postgame Quotes:On his injuries:“I’m just fighting through it. My shoulder is messed up really bad. Yesterday against Dallas I banged up the back of my leg. I didn’t have any explosion even just to jump off that leg or to sprint hard down the court. I didn’t even know if I was going to go tonight. I’m just trying to push it out the best I can.”

On how it affected his shot:

“It was really tough as it is because I can’t jump off my leg, and my shoulder isn’t 100%, so I’m really favoring one side. It’s been a big struggle just to angle up on free throw. I’ve just been trying to concentrate more. I’m not really worried about the shots…but the free throws are my bread and butter, and I just haven’t been making those the last three or four games.”
