Sixers Aren't Beating Good Teams

The Sixers have accumulated their five victories against teams with combined 15-48 records (23.8 winning percentage). Other than the home-opening victory over the Bucks in Brandon Jennings' NBA debut, the four wins were over clubs that are 7-45.

Meanwhile, the Sixers' eight losses have come to teams that are 64-44 (59.3 percent). Only two of the defeats are to teams with losing records (the Pistons and Grizzlies).

That the Sixers played well -- until shooting 4-for-23 in the fourth quarter -- in Saturday's 97-91 road loss to the Cavaliers was reason for the players and coach Eddie Jordan to be encouraged, especially on the heels of Friday's unacceptable 102-97 home loss to the Grizzlies.

"We rose to the challenge in a tough environment," Jordan said. "I like the way we executed, I like the way we talked. It was a different team from what we saw (Friday). We just didn't win the game."

"Something we do sometimes is kind of play to our level of competition," said Andre Iguodala. "We raised our level of play. We had them against the ropes. It was just a matter of not being able to make shots."
