ORLANDO -- Chris Bosh is not happy with the Toronto Raptors. And that's not good for the Raptors.

Bosh, their franchise player who can leave as an unrestricted free agent this summer, was second-guessing the Raptors' strategy after getting drilled in back-to-back games by the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic.

"We make adjustments with teams before we play the game. That sends the wrong message to ourselves,'' Bosh said after losing to the Magic, 118-99, Wednesday night. "We practice all the time so we should trust our system. We need to go out there and play hard. If they beat us for one quarter doing the things we normally do, then okay. Now we can change it up.''

Bosh had 20 points, six rebounds and three assists, but his Raptors never seriously challenged in the second half against the Magic. The night before in Miami, they were beaten even worse, 115-95.

"We're taking two steps forward and three steps back,'' Bosh said. "We're there some nights, but not there others. We've got to look ourselves in the mirror, and do what we're supposed to do. It's always talk, talk, talk -- but it's about action.''

The Raptors (11-17) have lost four of their last five games, struggling defensively night after night. They are allowing 108.3 points per game, which is 29th in the 30-team NBA. Only the Golden State Warriors are allowing more.

Although they can score almost as well as anyone, they can't seem to stop anyone. The Magic out-rebounded them, 42-31, Wednesday. The Magic blocked 14 shots, including eight by Dwight Howard. The Raptors didn't block any shots.

"We are all over the place (defensively) right now,'' Bosh said. "That usually happens when we lose a game because guys don't know what they are doing. We are not talking on defense, and all the things we can do to help ourselves out, we're not doing.''

It's strictly defense. Bosh must not realize that the Raptors' offense is fine for the most part: they aren't having trouble scoring the ball (5th in points per 100), and there are nightly contributors, just not as consistent as he is.

Problem is, they don't have the defensive intensity to match their offense.

By the way, the Raptors are dead last, defensively (points allowed per 100 is better than points allowed, which has a lot to do with pace).

Bargnani, Calderon, Hedo, and Bosh are all poor defensive players. DeRozan has a lot of work to do. There are your starters, and that's why Toronto is stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

Toronto doesn't try because there are no repercussions from the coach for lack of effort. Guys half [expletive] night in night out and it is hard to watch because I feel like they are wasting my time, I don't even want to go the games because I only feel like a handful of guys on the Raptors really care so why the [expletive] am I paying money to watch these guys go out and half [expletive] it?

While we shouldn't be a great or maybe not even average defensive team, we should at least be competent. Our coach isn't getting the best out of roster and should be fired, sadly we have already gone through a coach and Toronto either is unable or unwilling to bring in an established coach.

It is really frustrating to be honest. We need an actual big man, but BC is either oblivious to this or has too much pride to admit the Bargnani experiment is going to fail. You can't have two finesse big men and win IMO, we have no presence in the paint defensively and with the amount of times our wings get blown by it all starts from there. You get inside and then that opens up the kick outs, teams just get easy points off us because Bargnani and Bosh can't anchor a competent defense IMO.

Triano seems like a nice guy, but he also seems like a terrible motivator. At least with Mitchell it seemed like the players generally respected him and he got effort out of his team on both ends, if not he at least had the balls to send them to the bench (see Bargnani during Mitchell era). Mitchell was a bad coach too but I am just saying, both are bad coaches. We need someone who is going to demand the respect of these players and make them play hard every game not just when the [expletive] they feel like it.
