Manny-Floyd fight Off

The proposed Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight is off because Mayweather’s camp refused to relent on drug tests via blood rather than urine sampling, promoter Bob Arum said Tuesday night in an exclusive interview with The Press.

Arum said Pacquiao agreed to blood testing before the pre-fight press conference -- typically conducted months before a major fight -- and after the proposed March 13 bout, as well as random urine sampling at any time.

But when Mayweather’s camp insisted on random, Olympic-style blood samples, Pacquiao abandoned plans for the richest fight in history, Arum said.

lol @ Pacquiao not wanting to get tested. In true media fashion though, Floyd will get called out for ducking Pacquiao. Its not the first time Pacquiao has been accused of being a roider either. Floyd would go through the same exact testing as well so it isn't like he won't have an advantage.

The fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is off, promoter Bob Arum said Wednesday, as an attempt to mediate a dispute over blood testing failed.

Promoters had reached a tentative deal in December for the world’s top two fighters to meet on March 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

But the fight ran aground over Mayweather’s insistence on Olympic-style drug testing. The sides agreed to mediation this week in Santa Monica, Calif. before retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, but a solution could not be reached and the sides walked away.

Arum said Pacquiao is planning to fight Yuri Foreman, the World Boxing Association super welterweight champion, on either March 13 or March 20 in a bid for yet another world title. Arum said he wants to put that fight in Las Vegas, but said he still has to negotiate a site and will speak to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about holding it in Cowboys Stadium.

Mayweather is expected to pursue a fight for March with former super lightweight champion Paulie Malignaggi.

Guest The Situation

Floyd is a [expletive] and never wanted to fight him in the first place.

This hurts Mayweather's career more.

The WBA is upset with his camp for pulling this stunt.

All Floyd wanted was random drug testing all the way through until the fight. That's beyond reasonable for a fight of this magnitude. Lol @ Pacquiao saying he won't go inside 30 days even though he had done it before and now saying 24. Just take the tests randomly unless you have something to hide.
