  5. Any limits as to how many can be requested in a certain amount of time? I'll leave that up to you as well, since you were one of the captains of the team last time.
  6. I don't necessarily want him (rather have someone like JR Smith), but over Arenas? Every day of the week.
  7. Gasol, back to impersonating Dirk (and doing a poor job of it).
  8. Don't watch hockey, at all, but I'm assuming this is the beginning of the end for Crosby. Did he ever become good enough to be mentioned among the all-time greats? That's really all I heard about the guy.
  9. Yep, due to work...he's trying to become a researcher, said he hasn't watched much basketball at all lately.
  10. When I put the new board up, summer of 2009.
  11. We did bring them back, a few months ago, and it just didn't work out. I needed all of the members to post everywhere, not just to promote their own team forum, and that's sort of where we're at today as well. Back when we were pretty active, it was different. We were more focused on filling spaces, but now, we're geared towards making up for the spaces we never filled (meaning, posters being replaced over time). A while back, we could have had a team captain for EVERY team (and I believe we nearly did, I think we filled 27 spots, and I took the remaining three). Would be nice to see that again, haha. I'm hoping all of these extra things will encourage activity, and members will start to roll in, somehow. If we can get back up there, I'll definitely assign TC's again. It's been something I've liked to do for a while now, especially when they can help move gameday topics, lmao.
  12. Haha, don't ever remember seeing this topic. Pretty interesting, to say the least. Shaliq, has this topic been on your mind the entire time?!?! Yeah, not having the rep system from 2005-2009 sucks...although, Shaliq, I don't think he used our TOTAL post counts, either (think it was active posts, post-hack, or else I'd have much more than 11-12k). I really wish the rep system was used solely for the best posts...but over half are given for the funny stuff. Guess that really doesn't matter, though, since we don't do anything with reputation to begin with, lol.
  13. I have one more surprise for everyone, could take a couple of days though...extensive work.

  14. Kobe remembers this shit, from Twitter: http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/425295_368811799812170_100000500589161_1525980_467950131_n.jpg
  15. Blatche for anything, because he's a cancer. Any defensive player from 2-4 (McGee and Wall will start, regardless), any productive post scorer that is not Andray Blatche...whatever it takes, even a first-round draft pick.
  16. LA's biggest problem is their offense, and they can solve that with two different ways: 1) Drew needs to pass out of the post a lot more. He has to be able to create from the block, especially when he's drawing doubles...but he has no idea how to, never looks to pass, and it's a waste trying to get him to be a 20 PPG scorer if he can't create for others. 2) We need a PG that can facilitate, to take the ball out of Kobe's hands so we can preserve him a bit more. Kobe is STILL the primary option AND the facilitator for this team, and that's a Derrick Rose role that he really shouldn't have, with so much talent surrounding him. Problem is, the Lakers are old, so Ron Artest (who used to be a point-forward) and Steve Blake are not going to run the offense. Andre Miller would be nice. He doesn't want to drop 30 a night, and he would rather pass the ball. I'm even open to a JR Smith, who I think could flourish under Kobe and Gasol. He is a decent passer, does a little bit of everything, is athletic and young, can penetrate and create, score the ball, hit shots, even defend. But Arenas is just a red flag for me. I wouldn't take him for the league minimum, which is sad, because we could waive him at any time, in that case. I just wouldn't want to waste any games trying to figure him out, watch him fail, and see our top 2-3 seed slip away in a shortened season.
  17. Posted a bit more of the article...took me a bit to realize what the title actually meant, because the article doesn't lead into that until the very end, lol. Not sure why he's doing that, though. Feels like Bird is the type of guy that wants to be part of a winning crew...and who doesn't? Only one team wins it all every season, though, and the Pacers aren't going to be the 80s Celtics.
  18. He won't start trouble, but I'd rather have Fisher out there with a broken collarbone. Arenas needs the ball in his hands. Fisher knows he's not a scoring option on this team. The last time Gilbert said he would play team ball and sacrifice his offense (and admitted it was due to his injuries), he lied and shot 16 FGA/G for 39% until the Wizards traded him. We need a starting PG that can do something with the ball, not another spot-up shooter, or some injury-prone player that's clearly out of his prime (far out of it). Goudelock would be the better option at the point right now, honestly. Same with Darius Morris. Plus, Steve Blake will be getting his minutes back when he returns, and he's three times the player Gilbert is. There's a reason nobody has signed Arenas to a minimum deal yet, despite being waived for over a month now.
  19. Nah, really, that's not it...don't worry. The more people watching, the bigger the chance they jump in and turn this into a five-day debate, lol.
  20. LOL @ the copy/paste job from the PM. My turn... I never said Billups played the two-guard in Detroit. I said he played like a combo guard. He set up for shots, he created his own, and he's a scoring two-guard that has to play the point because he lacks length to defend the longer two's. He did play minutes at the two in Denver, though. http://www.82games.com/0910/09DEN2.HTM#bypos That's just one season...I don't have time to look up the rest. And Rose is doing a lot more passing than usual. He creates far more than Billups ever did. Chauncey did a lot of spotting up for shots, feeding off of others. Rose creates for others, and gets his shots in as a primary option, a LeBron in a PG's body, of sorts. Westbrook has also created much more than Billups...just not this season. Last year, and the year before, he was playing like a PG...until the second half, where he became selfish, and into the playoff run. Teague is different. He doesn't have the ball in his hands enough to matter. If Johnson wasn't around, that could change everything. Teague puts up decent assist numbers, shoots probably 10 times a game, so it's really hard to tell if he's able to play as a very good PG. As you said, you're looking for someone on Stockton's level. That's a pretty high stepping stone. Stockton is the second greatest PG in history. Magic, Stockton, Oscar, Nash, Kidd, Zeke...if you're looking for those players, you'll only find one every decade or so, lucky to find two with Kidd and Nash. CP3 is pretty damn good, but hasn't had the support those others have had. David West doesn't match up to ANY teammates those guys had.
  21. I don't dive into that stuff in PM's. The reason I post in debates is for the site only...and nobody can read along if it's in a PM. I wouldn't debate any member, even our veterans of seven years, because of that alone. Go ahead and hit the sheets, not a big deal. Maybe some others will join in tomorrow. I have work to do anyway.
  22. Worthy was putting up over 21 a night (career average 17), on 49% FG, that season. Divac was giving LA 11 PPG, 8 RPG, and 57% FG. Perkins averaged 18 PPG on 55% FG in that playoff run for the Lakers in 1991. I'd say he was more than okay. He played like an all-star. Might as well say that. Both fed off of each other, which is why I'm considering the duo over the PG. I can't tell you what Stockton would do without Malone, just as much as you can't tell me what John Wall would have done with a prime Tim Duncan.
