  1. You wait until they are done, then you shut him out for a little while. Tell him why. The odds that they will last are pretty low, and I can tell just by what you've said and how he has treated you. Let him roll around in his personal ecstasy, then cut him loose once he decides he needs friends again. Most importantly, explain why you're doing it to him. If he apologizes, maybe you can forgive him. If he acts like a punk about it, so be it...you'll finally figure out the real person, and it'll be much easier to determine if he's a true friend or not (more than likely not).
  2. It's ridiculous, the policy and the reaction to it. Those people are humans, and they lost a huge chunk of their lives due to the fire. It shouldn't cost $75 to protect your personal items, preserve memories and, above everything else, prevent a disaster that causes you to have to rebuild your life (which costs money and emotional scars). Pathetic.
  3. The Nets are probably going to miss out on Melo. They didn't get LeBron James. They didn't get John Wall or Evan Turner. And that, right there, is my other problem with tanking.
  4. Hickson did pretty good tonight. I'm still not sure if he'll be the one Cleveland can lean on, but he's not looking like a backup PF anymore. Looks more like a legit PF than Jamison does, to be honest.
  5. Despite playing halfway decent defense on Nelson, and throwing 10 assists. It's a good example of why that stat really never means much to me. It's based more on the four teammates on the court with him and the production of all five together, not necessarily Paul. So when Rashard Lewis and Ryan Anderson go off for 23 points each, it seems like CP3 is to blame.
  6. Haha, thanks, I just duplicated a small picture my brother had, drew it on a larger poster board for him to stick on his wall.
  7. I don't support tanking because it requires your best players to take their mind out of the game, for the coaches to encourage losing, and for those players to actually accept those losses. Play to win.
  8. I hate these discussions...makes me feel OLD as dirt. I've never seen an episode of the show. I don't remember how old I was when it was popular, but I was probably just starting high school. HOWEVER, I did draw a picture of the main guy for my brother, who loved the show...drew it when I was 14 or 15. http://i53.tinypic.com/70uvex.jpg
  9. Nope. Not surprised at the commentators that claim it is, though.
  10. Gore was going to walk into the endzone. Very nice tip on that pass. It saved the game, really. Niners are 0-5. I didn't think they'd be a good team, but I didn't expect them to be this bad.
  11. LOL, Vernon Davis just wants to taunt, no need to win the game.
  12. I could care less. I was born into a football family, parents were KC Chiefs fans, and part of the rest of my family loved the Cowboys (they lived near Texas). I couldn't stand hearing about the Chiefs every weekend, so I decided to become a fan of their rivals, the Raiders...and I've been a fan since. Oakland was a decent team back then...coached by Shanahan and Shell, and I was around six or seven years old. Chiefs were as good, don't really remember if Marty had started coaching them or not (I think it was his first season, actually). But, as far as basketball goes, the Kings were in Kansas City when I was born, but moved two seasons later. By the time I started watching and playing basketball, the closest team to root for was in Chicago, so I just chose the Suns (long story short, my cousin got me into collecting cards, and I thought Barkley was a bad ass reading his stats and those bios on the back). In 1995, my cousin had a bunch of Kobe highlights he recorded on VHS tapes, and I watched them...thought he was the most awesome player I've ever seen other than Jordan, so I decided I would root for whatever team he was drafted to. He went to Charlotte, and I was ready to pull for them, but when he was dealt to LA, that was my team...even though they were without Shaq at the time (Kobe had his Lakers jersey a week before O'Neal), and they were just a 53-win team as well. I really don't care what team anyone roots for, as long as they know quite a bit about that team. If someone is a Lakers fan, it would be nice if he/she could tell me some history, tell me about all of their current players (ALL of them), and just know stuff about the team. I've ran into people rooting for the Lakers that know nothing outside of Kobe, Phil and Gasol...can't even tell me how many years Ron Artest has been on the team, and that's pathetic. THAT'S what pisses me off.
  13. Nobody watched this game? Poor shooting...I believe both teams shot under 40%, but it was an outside game (didn't this happen last year, also?), just not really windy or anything. Dallas came back, but it was a bit too late.
  14. Rivers is going to throw for 1,000 [expletive]ing yards.
  15. I only hear about the Heat when they win...didn't even know they played last night, didn't know they lost. Bosh played just 12 minutes, but he was awful. Blair looked good.
  16. What's the word on Livingston? He sat out this game with left knee soreness...possibly just made up to keep him out, but it's a reason to be concerned.
  17. Arthur did good...and Gay shot like Ben Wallace. Memphis has been impressive in the preseason, though.
  18. Given that they are trying to run the triangle offense, it'll involve Johnson dropping the ball into the post to Kevin Love, with Webster and even Beasley knocking down shots out of it. I'm just not sure how well that will work out, Johnson running the offense...not sure if he'll actually be doing that. But here's the thing: Johnson is excellent at cutting to the basket, and finishing at the rim. Perfect for Love, who is one of the better passing bigs in the NBA. So, in a way, it'll be Love operating out of the post, if Rambis decides he's really going to run the triangle. Johnson won't be handling the ball too much, but will look to score at the rim, with shooters spreading the floor (Webster and Beasley), and you'll see a lot of Beasley and Johnson on the break as well. Will it translate into a winning season? Not a chance, but that may chance once Rubio arrives, because despite not being an excellent shooter, the rest of Rubio's game is made for the triangle offense.
  19. I think it tells more about how unselfish teams, as a whole, are more important than a pure point running the show. How overrated were Steve Nash and Jason Kidd throughout their careers?
  20. They'll definitely look to make noise before the deadline, and it may be the only way they'll rake in an all-star. I doubt many players will want to go to Cleveland after Gilbert's letter to LeBron was published for the world to see. EDIT: Of course, there's the draft, but I don't see the Cavs doing much during free agency.
  21. I would've never guessed they'd shut down Bama's run game like this, let alone score 35 points.
  22. Dude, lol...that was CRAZY. I figured the game was over.
