  1. Moss and Welker. Three of the four have massive ego and attitude problems (no matter what anyone else says, just agree), but if you're giving them a legit quarterback, it's Moss that comes out of the gates shining. I distinctly remember when everyone was calling for his head before he put on a Patriots jersey, and saying he was done. He then went out and helped Brady destroy teams every night, and it took a miracle play by Manning and a miracle catch by Tyree to put the Pats away.
  2. Well, what I was referring to was over the next couple of seasons, really. I don't see who else they would build around. Maybe in 3-4 years, that will change...but hey, you guys could always bring back Carter before he retires. Bargnani and Carter = Shaq and Kobe? http://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gif http://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gif http://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gif http://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gif http://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gifhttp://www.mentaljokes.com/images/a_cootiegrn.gif
  3. Kwame isn't the offensive threat the Bobcats need in the post, but he's a decent defensive player down low. Defensive IQ is a bit low, but he's strong and a legit center with a long wingspan. Larry Brown would approve. Charlotte has a lot of centers, though. Dampier, Diop, Mohammed, and now Brown. One has to wonder if they are setting up a trade.
  4. LOL, because they lost Game 7 without Perkins? They were fortunate to have more offense with Sheed playing more minutes, because with Perkins in there, they would've scored 50 points that night. In the same light, the Boston Celtics have yet to beat our big three of Kobe, Gasol and Drew. They beat a depleted Lakers team in 2008 (no Ariza OR Bynum), and lost to us when Drew was hobbled and ready for surgery in June. What a fool.

  6. Some on TLN would want to trade Vujacic for him (like Denver would really do that to begin with). But I wouldn't. I'd rather keep Sasha, funny as it sounds. I like JR Smith's ability to shoot 4-5 from downtown one night, but I don't like when he shoots 4-12 whenever he feels like it, and his attitude absolutely sucks.
  7. The plan is to clone Aso and stop the passing game completely, then force Johnson to rush for 300 yards to beat us.
  8. He'll change his mind once he gets a taste of the money Phoenix will offer him. Of course, that DOES depend on his play this upcoming season.
  9. BLAH...I remember all of that. The 2004 Pistons.
  10. I love Smith as a help defender, but I'm not so fond of his on-ball defense, namely in the post area. It's obvious he doesn't have the strength to contain a back to the basket four. I don't know his track record against guys like Garnett, though (I'd look it up, but it's not that important to me), but shooting forwards seem to have more trouble against him, from what I've seen when watching the Hawks. Someone like Duncan? I would think he drools at that match-up, although Duncan's knees/feet have been giving him trouble lately, which doesn't help against an athletic Smith. But trade Smith for a center? That still leaves Joe Johnson as the primary option, correct?
  11. Even though I posted the topic, I didn't realize just how low that oppFG% was for the 08 Celtics. :o
  12. Most definitely, he's better than Okur. It's just difficult to find a good comparison because, for me, he's sitting in the middle, between Dirk and Okur.
  13. Gotta add Sonny Weems, and also Stephen Curry, before he becomes an all-star.
  14. He actually got a piece of Rubio's shot attempt first, then Rudy's, to end the game. Good stuff, though. I still think we would've lost to a Spain team with Pau Gasol. Marc isn't an offensively talented as his brother, so it's not a big deal to stick Odom on him. Rubio is amazing. Rose blew past him a few times, but he's got quick hands and is a stellar passer.
  15. Pinned the topic. I was going to create separate topics for the preseason games, but I decided against it. Doesn't seem like there's much activity just yet.
  16. I think CDR would've been nice to keep if he actually wanted to play for the Nets...but Lee seemed to have hit a wall. Murphy will contribute, even in spurts, and he'll do so while having a positive attitude. You can't go wrong with that.
  17. Eddie Jones averaged 20/5/4 in a season once, and is a three-time all-star. I wouldn't consider him a non-star. He was an excellent player, offense and defense. I would say Kirk Hinrich, but I consider him a star (borderline all-star at full health). So...I'll have to say players drafted out of KU (Chalmers, Rush are two non-stars) and Derrick Caracter.
  18. 1985-1986 Boston Celtics 67-15 record, NBA champions Offensive Rating: 111.8 (3rd of 23) Defensive Rating: 102.6 (1st of 23) Team FG%: 50.8% Team 3PT%: 35.1% Opp FG%: 46.1% Opp 3PT%: 27.0% C - Robert Parish | Greg Kite PF - Kevin McHale | Bill Walton SF - Larry Bird | Scott Wedman SG - Dennis Johnson | Rick Carlisle PG - Danny Ainge | Jerry Sichting COACH - KC Jones ----------------------------------------- 2007-2008 Boston Celtics 66-16 record, NBA champions Offensive Rating: 110.2 (10th of 30) Defensive Rating: 98.9 (1st of 30) Team FG%: 47.5% Team 3PT%: 38.1% Opp FG%: 41.9% Opp 3PT%: 31.6% C - Kendrick Perkins | PJ Brown PF - Kevin Garnett | Leon Powe | Glen Davis SF - Paul Pierce | James Posey SG - Ray Allen | Tony Allen PG - Rajon Rondo | Eddie House COACH - Doc Rivers ----------------------------------------- The numbers seem to favor the 1986 Celtics just a bit, but would you say the two teams are close in terms of overall play?
  19. One bad pitch could bring a home run. A bad throw is less likely to result in a touchdown. It's hard for me to look at it that way. Bad offense in football can be bailed out by great defense and poor offense by the opponent, also.
  20. Which position gives the athlete the most responsibility when it comes to winning and losing?
  21. That bad? I don't know about that. Just watching him at the four (when he played it every now and then, wasn't too often), he was pretty effective. By the numbers, his PER was 28.7 and allowed PER was 9.3...which is amazing, but of course, it comes with playing limited minutes at that position. And it is PER. But we're talking a guy that put up 14/10 on 55% FG in the regular season, and doing it behind Johnson, Crawford and Smith. People are high on Andrew Bynum and his post skills, saying he'd be an all-star if he wasn't always injured, but Horford's numbers are just as impressive, and his defense is actually better (Drew suffers from a lot of defensive lapses due to missing brain cells, and partially because he has to keep an eye on Fisher's man every game). I could definitely see a team winning it all with Horford playing third scoring option. Second might be a stretch, depending on who you have around him (a trio of Melo, Horford and CP3 could at least get into the Finals even if Horford had more FGA than Paul).
  22. He won't be back in time. Not from that injury.
  23. NBATV @ 3:00 PM ET Also read it comes on ESPN2 at 10 PM ET.
  24. I'm still trying to figure out why Eddie House is getting asked questions by the media.
