Not a superstar trio...two superstars and an all-star. Toronto fans are irate about what Bosh did, but I think everyone else expected him to team up with LeBron OR Wade. At one point, he actually said he was waiting on LeBron to make a decision. In fact, it was Bosh who made the first move, going to Miami. Once that was taken care of, LeBron should've decided he was going to put that duo to sleep by teaming up with Amare, or Rose, or Griffin and Gordon, or going to Jersey and teaming up with Harris, Lopez and Favors. Becoming a basketball god in his own city. Unfortunately, he went to Dwyane Wade's city, and because of that, it will always be his city. He will always be the longer-tenured player there, with more rings (assuming he doesn't get traded later, or injured for good), probably more loved than LeBron as well. That is indeed a legacy-killer, and past champions look at that as a cowardly act. It's always fun to go to the park, team up with two of the best players on the court and just demolish a weak team...but at the end of the day, you want a real game, and you want to win that real game. You want to see those good players lose because you led a team without them. Jordan and Kobe are those two players. There are others...but I can't say LeBron is one anymore, which is sad because he could've done it had he decided to recruit hard for the Cavaliers, or team up with Rose, Amare, or Griffin. Hell, he could've went to Washington to team with his friend, Wall, and made a stronger push for a ring...and he would've made the city his. Miller would've stayed, Hinrich would be there, Blatche would be a better forward, Josh Howard could've come back, Ilgauskas would follow, and I'm sure they would be looking indestructible today. So many possibilities, but he chose the absolute easiest road other than going straight to the Lakers for the MLE.

Because Bosh isn't a legit primary option on a championship team, no matter what he thought a month ago. He's an all-star, not a superstar.
-
You can have him.

I wonder if that's how Wade felt about last year's Heat team...you know, the one he doesn't have anymore.

That's the difference between a fierce, cold-blooded competitor and a guy that has already accepted defeat on an individual stage. LeBron has been recruiting HARD ever since signing with the Heat...something he didn't do with Cleveland. As a Cavalier, LeBron wanted to take a franchise to a championship by himself. He was on the same road traveled as Jordan. When he failed over and over again (one Finals appearance in seven years, and a sweep at that), he decided to turn the wheel and take a shortcut. If you don't like reading it, that's fine...but that doesn't change the fact that it's exactly what he did, and champions will look down on him for it.

What do you think of John Wall's performance so far?
Real Deal replied to JWaLL's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
I'm not going to analyze his game too much, mainly because it's the Summer League, but Wall has shown that he can run an offense. He's not your typical Leandro Barbosa, full speed ahead, scoring and nothing else. His passes are really nice, and the bad decisions he does make will eliminate themselves once he starts playing with his teammates more (and better quality teammates as well). Wall has missed a lot of wide-open shots, but that will eventually come to him. Maybe just nerves. He's fumbled the ball a couple of times, where any other normal high school or college player would've kept control of it, so you have to assume a great deal of it is due to just trying to impress and be perfect. Once he calms down and starts playing in an offense with legit starters, things will change, and he will be one of the most dangerous point guards in the NBA in 2-3 seasons. -
...recently.

Haha, I'm definitely not Member of the Month. I'm barely active, and there are a lot of posters just killing it with some of the stuff they post lately. YESSSSSSSSSS.

Heat Signing Carlos Arroyo, Jamaal Magloire, and Juwan Howard?
Real Deal replied to Dzy's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
Magloire has no business being on the team. Just another six fouls, I guess. Arroyo is nice. He's a low-turnover player that can play within the offense. Howard will provide leadership and 15-20 good minutes on the floor, but you have to wonder how he's going to hold up. He's played for 15-16 seasons. -
Jeremy Lin v.s. John Wall Highlights
Real Deal replied to MainEv3nt's topic in NBA and College Basketball Media
Haha...just Jeremy Lin highlights. Lin is a good player, but you can see the guy that uploaded the vid wants to feature him over Wall. I didn't watch the entire thing...but did it have Wall's spin move that made Lin fall? -
Miami is set, with Ilgauskas and Anthony. I'm not so sure they plan on bringing Shaq in, and if they do, it's a big slap in the face to those two guys, one expecting to play more minutes than he did last season (when Shaq was taking them) and the other, a developing defensive-minded big who deserves more playing time on the court. Atlanta is a big question mark. O'Neal can't start over Horford, and Josh Smith shouldn't be moved to the three (he's best suited as a versatile four). But, maybe the Hawks plan on adjusting. If so, Marvin Williams is history, and Horford would obviously slide down to the four, a position he's able to play. Dallas would've made sense, but Chandler and Haywood will do just fine. Those two are the defensive centers the Mavericks have been seeking for quite some time now. With Mbenga likely gone, the Lakers are going to be looking for a backup center. I'm sure the fans will welcome O'Neal back (not all, but some), but I'm not sure Buss will. Plus, he would have to take the vet's minimum, because LA has nothing to trade. New Jersey could use him, even though they signed Petro. I'm still unsure about their pace, though. If they play too fast, Shaq has no chance in that offense. Spurs? That's possible, but Splitter could change everything. I honestly don't know.

It's their way of keeping new blood off the forums. I'm sad to say that I'm not surprised.

No reason to post it twice...and the next time, we need a bit of the article (2-3 blocks of text) followed by the link to the rest. We don't allow fans to come here just to spam their site.

If we did the Member of the Month idea, I would only want to do that...not extending the awards. Nothing in the works right now, though. I would actually like to pick up our activity a bit more, and it looks like we are trying...getting a few new members, also.

Brewer Agrees To $12.5M Deal With Bulls
Real Deal replied to Dzy's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Haha, good point. C - Noah PF - Boozer SF - Deng SG - Brewer PG - Rose 6th - Korver Noah is the key player up front, though. Utah didn't have a big to neutralize Boozer's lack of defense. Noah is a nice rebounder, and he contests shots well...something Jerry Sloan never really had at the center position since Mark Eaton. -
Kobe in contact w/ Raja Bell
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Whatever the situation, it definitely requires money. I don't see why Raja would go to Utah, no matter his history with Sloan, their needs at the two, or the location. It was 100% about the money. -

Could be a good thing, though. It's not a reach to say the Raptors can be a decent defensive team in the next 2-3 seasons, and developing the young players is always a plus.

Are we approaching a decade of "Dream-Teams"?
Real Deal replied to a topic in General NBA Discussion
But Duncan is. The trios you listed that I didn't bold...none of them had legit superstars. None of those have/had this "Dream Team" potential. You can't have a legit Dream Team without at least one superstar, or 3-4 all-stars.
