  1. Good job you two. 7-0 s.t.a.t., gonna go ahead and lock it up.
  2. The idea is that it's Cleveland or the Knicks...but I have a gut feeling the Knicks aren't even on his mind right now, and it's the Nets that he's thinking about, especially with the rich owner who will shower him with money, expensive teammates, sponsorships, and anything else he wants.
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/columns/story?page=LeBronNY-100402
  4. I would think the free agency period would be good for Cleveland. It can be used as an incentive. Win it all, or risk losing James. Is there even the slightest thought that maybe Ferry brought Jamison in because he was worried about losing LeBron, if they don't bring home the rings?
  5. I wouldn't say that much, because momentum can be built on favorable scheduling. Once you play a top four seeded team in the first round, you will likely have to play them 6-7 times to beat them, and that's all without the usual bad teams in between, and the 2-3 days rest and home-cooking on long streaks. The Warriors matched up well with the Mavericks from the start. They went 3-0 against the Mavericks in the regular season, including 29 and 17-point blowouts.
  6. I had to split that from the other topic. Its'a great, great read.
  7. That's why he's working the young girls who are probably too young to flash in the first place, but don't know anything about animals to begin with.
  8. Whoever that was actually got a few girls to flash. I found a picture with him getting it done (won't post it here because it's inappropriate). It worked for a while. Guess those girls didn't want to save the bird.
  9. Close your browser, then re-open it and go to OTR, and click a link to a topic. Look up at the URL the entire time you're browsing. Do you get a "s=i3i543hh54h634lh63kl" extension? Obviously, the numbers will vary...but see if you get that. Also, do the forum makers (read/unread, the basketballs you see on the main index) refuse to change sometimes, after reading a topic?
  10. Our defense is a lot more inconsistent than it was last season. Just because we're ranked in the top five doesn't make us consistent. We play excellent, outstanding defense for most of the game, but we falter and give up a lot of points when we can't afford to, and that's one of two of the biggest reasons why we are on the losing end of games.
  11. Ask where your friends work, and get connected that way. Terry got his job as a manager at Hibbett Sports, partially by doing that.
  12. The margin of victory is understandable. They blew out some bad teams...but they did destroy the Spurs. @ Philadelphia (+21) vs. Golden State (+27) @ New Jersey (+10) vs. LA Lakers (+2) vs. LA Clippers (+26) vs. Chicago (+29) @ Washington (+14) vs. Charlotte (-7) vs. San Antonio (+26) @ Miami (+6) @ Philadelphia (+16) @ Atlanta (-2) vs. Minnesota (+9) vs. Denver (+6) It's impressive, nonetheless.
  13. Lakers/Cavs Finals, Lakers win. I'm not going to do it again, lol.
  14. People that say his defense is bad...they don't understand what he has to do, and they apparently don't see how bad Farmar and Fisher are. There are times where Gasol has to come out and defend a guard on the perimeter, even without a switch on a screen, because Fisher loses him (and I have no idea how, it just happens). Kobe sacrifices the three to deflect penetrating guards. He's been doing it forever. It doesn't help that we have two soft bigs in the middle, who those guards aren't scared of.
  15. He's gone. There's no way Phil will put up with that.
  16. 1) Do everything possible to get a defensive-minded point that can knock down shots. Kirk Hinrich. He's the one. Wade is going to Chicago, Hinrich is coming here. Perfect world. 2) Trade Sasha Vujacic. Doesn't matter for what or for who. If we get rid of him, Buss will be more inclined to take on Hinrich's contract (or someone else making $5-10 million a year). 3) Bench Bynum, if we don't trade him. Bring him off the bench with Derek Fisher, Luke Walton, Shannon Brown and Josh Powell in the second unit. Give Bynum the ball, and let him go to work. 4) Teach Bynum how to pass out of the post. 5) Make sure you get the defensive-minded point guard that can shoot the open jumpers.
  17. He's your defensive anchor, so you're going to have trouble without him in there. Fast guards get to the rim easier, and versatile bigs can have their way with Nene. Denver needs Martin more than anyone not named Melo and Billups.
  18. I've had it for about three years now, and it's actually pretty nice...but since Twitter started feeding us all with info, as Phightins pointed out, I've been getting Insider as a month-to-month type of thing, where I pay for the month that I want. Therefore, I can get it for the months of the NBA Draft, the trade deadline, and the NFL Draft. Don't ever use it any other time of the year anymore.
  19. Yeah, we sorta did that last game, and it failed. Gasol has trouble establishing position in the post because he's weak and gets bullied out of the paint. His excuse is supposed to be his hamstring problem, but I don't buy it at all. His lack of physicality has been his problem his entire career. If he gets the ball and can't make a move, he holds it for a while, then kicks it out, looking for someone to bail him out. It's bad practice, and it's something Shaq never had to do.
  20. Kobe: 10-17 FG Rest of Lakers:10-28 FG
  21. Great American Bash 1989...that's the one with Sting and Muta.
  22. Well, you were here in 2007. Not saying it's you, just saying that the guy could've been here 3 months ago, for all I know.
  23. The members they were talking about were guys that don't post here anymore, and they actually didn't say anything about them that makes me think they even KNOW them, just the usual incoherent comments about their sexual preference and their race. But the guys they were talking about were posting back in 2006 or 2007, so whoever is saying this stuff was a member back then. At least one of them was (if it's not just one person). Either way, I haven't gotten any PM's about it, and nobody really knows anything, so it's probably a waste of time trying to find out who it is. They are probably reading the topic right now, actually, and it's too bad they don't have the sack to get on and say what they want, and let us know who they are. EDIT: Two still post here, three don't.
  24. This has opened my eyes a little, honestly. Like I said earlier, the stuff about the board isn't that big of a deal. We've had that kind of talk forever now. People get mad when they are tossed, so they have to find a way to make it seem like it was my fault, or everyone else's. The personal stuff (what I didn't post from the email) is the bigger problem. It was hard to swallow, some of the things that were said. I also left out two or three quotes that were putting a handful of our members on blast, more on a personal level, actually naming them. I also didn't like that. Ultimately, in the end, I see that the guys that are still here and contributing are those who respect what I've done, and they deserve the respect back from me, which I can only give by keeping OTR up and alive. I've said it so many times before...Aaron, Kyle and I (and the mods over time) have appreciated what you guys have done. Some of you do get carried away, and so do I, but for the most part, we don't have the internal staff troubles (ever), we don't have admins and mods going at each others' throats, and we don't have a huge group of members rebelling against the site (as far as I can tell). We don't reach 1,000 posts a day anymore, but a lot of that has to do with the hack and a group of members shying away from posting, or even re-registering with us. But, I feel like we still have one of the best basketball boards on the net, hands down, when it comes to overall intelligent basketball discussion, and that's all I really want out of the time and money spent.
