  1. I don't think Mitt is going to win Ohio. I can see Obama dumping more money into the state, pulling a bit out of Florida. He knows Ohio wins the election, as things stand right now. I mean, it's not impossible for Mitt to take it if Obama takes OH, but it's pretty damn close to it.
  2. Right, but that's also with Nash making Gortat his go-to guy, which is never, ever a bad thing (no matter who you are). And yes, preseason numbers are also irrelevant to me. Ebanks just dropped 20 in a game a few days ago. He's not starting over Ron. But, regardless, I'm still taking Gortat for one reason: his defense. He's a better on-ball and help defender. I know DeAndre is athletic and can swat shots, but Gortat can handle almost any center down low, no matter the size...and his ability to box out (using his strength) makes up for what Jordan can do athletically. I won't discuss their offensive games because, again, Nash made Gortat his P&R big man, and that's going to get you buckets. DeAndre would have seen his PPG rise as well, if Nash (or even CP3) would have used him that frequently...and even though CP3 is the best PG in the NBA, nobody runs the P&R better than Nash.
  3. I've always been on Amare's side, when it comes to pinpointing just who should change in this offense. I can't see Amare becoming that back-to-the-basket player...that hasn't been him for years, and while I think he should adjust as he loses athleticism over the years, it can't happen overnight. Gradually is key for him. But the Knicks can't wait for that, and the fact is, Carmelo is a superstar. He's a top three scorer in the NBA (many argue the best). If you have that scoring ability, you should be doing what you can to improve your facilitating. It's the same shit I say about Kevin Durant, but unlike Melo, Durant actually has Harden and Westbrook to carry that role for him. Someone like Anthony has the potential to be a very dangerous player (not just scorer), and I'm talking top five in the league if he were to develop a little more...but as it stands, he's just not there, and it's unfortunate. For that reason, I was never really hyped about Melo and Amare teaming together, especially without a true PG distributing the ball (or Melo refusing to let one do that). I'd think things would be much different if New York had a Steve Nash to work the P&R with Amare and Chandler all game long (good God), and Carmelo maybe wouldn't have to change his game (to become more like LeBron, for example), but instead, accept the fact that he can indeed play off of someone else and STILL be Carmelo Anthony. ------- In regards to the position change, again...I just don't see where that leaves Chandler. I can't pull Chandler from the five, because the Knicks need all the defense they can muster up, and I think it's crazy to pull Amare from it simply because he's not going to accept a sixth-man role on a team that he essentially claimed as his just two years ago. Aside from Landry Field and Toney Douglas, nobody else was on that team for over 50 games or so (nobody significant), so you get the idea that Amare was willing to come to what could have been a depleted team just to hold his head high and say he's playing for the Knicks franchise...and now, he's going to become an Antawn Jamison?
  4. Paul George isn't going to do much as long as Granger is there...and now that they've replaced Collison with Augustin, and added Gerald Green, I doubt he sees enough offense to become "the man" in Indiana.
  5. Watching the debate for a second time...he really doesn't stutter as much as you say (and as much as I thought)...but he pauses, and talks slowly.
  6. But he has before, and that's the problem. You know what's even more shocking? In the second debate, Romney told all of us that we would hope to be out by 2014, but would re-analyze the situation when that time comes. He also clearly stated that Obama should not be setting the exact year, and these were statements he also stated in January, I believe February, in June or July, and again, in that second debate. This time, tonight, he stated 2014, and he made it clear it was 2014. He sounded like he read Obama's statement from the second debate, and right when he did, my girl's dad shook his head in disappointment. People that are hunting down his previous comments (and there are a lot of us that are doing it, while a ton of his supporters simply remember what he said) will compare, of course...and he's not the same guy. Two weeks, dude. You're telling me that Romney made a good decision contradicting things he has said over the last 6-10 months? Come on, man...from all of the things you've posted here about Romney, I think that actually pissed you off a bit. You seem like the guy that wants to throw consistency on the table, praise Romney's consistency (if there's anything you can find at this point) and blast Obama for not sticking true to his word about lowering the national debt (for example). Obama doesn't stutter due to uncertainty. He has that slight stutter when he gives speeches the same way I do when I pause, and I do it because I make sure (100% sure) that my words are accurate and understandable for all that listen. He does it with almost every statement he makes, even those you would deem consistent (ex. Obamacare ideas). Romney doesn't stutter, but I get a feeling he sometimes wishes he could go back and re-word things that he says. I mean, calling GB a country, talking about Syria being Iran's only route to the seas (maybe he doesn't know where Iran is?), saying the Navy was the oldest it's been since 1947...he was pushing to fit in comments just so he could start discussing the economy again, to change the topic if it related to foreign policy, and those are the things that hurt him. If you really want to know what Mitt Romney stands for, what he believes in, you have to go back and watch everything he has said for months, picking and choosing what he supports the most...and that's not a good thing. The only real thing I know about Mitt Romney is that he wants to get rid of Obamacare, and he claims to "know what it takes" (his famous line he continues to say, without much explanation) to create $12 million jobs. That's it.
  7. What killed Mitt tonight was the fact that he continued to agree with Obama on a LOT of things. My girlfriend's dad was pretty pissed off about that...started calling Romney a Liberal, lol. The indecision is what will decide this election. Romney is leaning too far from where he truly stands, and it's all an attempt to gain support...but in the process, it's making him look more like a liar. If he really wants this, he has to stay true to what he has been preaching for years, and play along with his party, or else Obama is going to burn him.
  8. I didn't consider that, actually. Makes a lot of sense...but now my question is, where does that leave Chandler? Would Melo really see enough time at the four to make much of a difference?
  9. The worst part is, their two most important players (one on each end of the court, Curry and Bogut) are the two we expect to suffer a season-ending injury at one point or another. I just really want them to stay healthy, despite being in the Pacific, because I'm interested in how they will do with everyone on deck. Instead of experimenting with 30 different lineups, maybe they can go much less, only having questions at the three (Rush, Barnes, Jefferson). I mean, they are basically locked in with Curry, Thompson, Lee and Bogut, and how long has it been since we've been able to say that about four of Golden State's starters?
  10. He hasn't talked much about it since the second debate, actually. You'd think he would pound that into everyone's heads when he's on the road, but I have a feeling he may want to avoid mentioning it because of how bad he slipped up when assuming Obama didn't speak on the incident a day after.
  11. I have a sound bar, but if I was using the TV volume, I'd have to say 48 because I like to hear Romney breathing heavily into his mic. You?
  12. Romney was praying the third would be centered around the economy. This could be ugly for him.
  13. I'd like to drop it all back into the main forum, but I merged them into conferences for now. Maybe others can weigh in on this as well.
  14. See ya at the top of the mountain soon, buddy.
  15. Simply put, Melo is more likely to have the ball in his hands on the perimeter, since post players get ignored every now and then, and Melo doesn't want to be that guy who has to call for the ball (instead of coming to get it) and rely on someone to throw a nice entry pass into the post. He knows he plays better that way, but he also realizes he's going to have to be a better teammate, and that's not in his DNA. If Melo was a better facilitator, I wouldn't have a problem with his decision to stay at the three...but he isn't.
  16. Taylor and Danny, you two can continue helping if you like. We just need one weekly topic, and at the beginning of it, a listing of the games (maybe details, such as time and TV). Something like... Oakland @ Kansas City (4:00 PM ET, CBS) Denver @ New England (4:10 PM ET, FOX) Should be much easier than creating 15-16 topics, also, haha. And, all of those weekly topics should be pinned in the NFL forum (main one), previous topics unpinned and moved into the archives once the new ones are created. Thanks guys.
  17. Let's go ahead and do this. At this point, I'm not even sure if it was a good idea to expand the NFL section. I think we would have better discussion with just one major forum, and a topic pinned, each week, for Gameday.
  18. I don't know. It didn't seem like Kobe ran through him hard enough to knock him down and send him sliding. Maybe if it was Shane Battier, but Cousins is a big, big man. KB is probably the strongest player in all of NBA history, though, and Cousins is lucky Bryant didn't do to him what he did to Chris Childs, and attempt to break Cousins' hand with his neck.
  19. Yao Ming was the MJ of China, so of course the two are on different planets when it comes to that...and in the process, most NBA fans are going to hand all of their votes to CP3, Westbrook and Nash (who I forgot about when mentioning Lawson...could be hard for him to get in now). When Yao was playing, he was a top two center in the NBA, and even I was voting for him. When he racked up all of those votes, despite the injury, he was already established and the clear-cut best center out West, when healthy, so I think it was a statement sent his way, ultimately. If Lin can have a full NBA season resembling the chunk he had back in New York, maybe dialing down on the turnovers even a hair, then he's got a huge chance.
  20. Ah, yeah...him and Gasol were battling for position, and Gasol gave him that PauFlop. I remember it now, lol. Cousins was just frustrated the entire game. He set a screen on Kobe in the first quarter, and Kobe ran him over...but even worse, Cousins fell as if he was 150 pounds. Then, later in the game, he set another screen, raised his elbow, and got Kobe in the upper chest region (almost in the throat), and they had words for each other after that. DeMarcus just lets his attitude get the best of him, and when he's frustrated, he sees no reason to ever pass the ball, and he starts missing easy shots from close range. As far as Tyreke goes...yeah, he's done with Sactown, and I'm sure they are going to be done with him. Again, I blame both parties...Evans for not being a man and just doing what he's paid to do, and the Kings for playing him three positions and not understanding how to utilize his skillset.
  21. I thought he only had three, but that was early in the second quarter, and the entire team had like 14-15 fouls with nine minutes to go in that second, lol. I think the Kings grabbed Howard maybe three times in that half, one to prevent a lob from connecting and two in order to prevent two wide-open dunks.
  22. Lakers' bench outscored by Sacramento's bench, 57-18. Can't wait to trim this roster, and have our bigs rotating to where they can be out there the entire time.
  23. Would we see more posts about these NFL games if we created one gameday topic each week? We run through numerous gameday topics with no posts in them, and sometimes, I feel like people just don't want to click in there and talk about a game if there's nobody else active in it. In a single topic, for all games each week...you can discuss as many games as you want in one post, and maybe that will trigger better discussion.
  24. Everyone looked lost out there, once they started running those deep sets into the Princeton playbook, LOL. Turnover city. Our bench didn't even run the offense...not sure what they did, honestly. Brown stuck Sacre, Jamison, Ebanks, Meeks and Duhon out there all by themselves, and I was feeling bad for Jamison, haha. Wish I saw more from Thomas Robinson...and DeMarcus Cousins is a cancer.
