Minus Scola, Houston shot 21-68. That's 31%. And even Scola wasn't exactly the best shooter out on the floor, netting just 9-21. Big, big statement for Hinrich's defensive abilities, and Rose's improving defense.

I'm going to go ahead and say it now: I'm not convinced the Heat are a threat to beat any of the top four teams in the East. I wanted to say they could tackle both the Hawks and a hobbled Celtics squad, but I'm just not so sure of it now. It really doesn't have much to do with this game, although this is a small piece of it. The Heat just play scared, and I don't know if they have the goods to get it done in late April.

Tough night for the Kings. They all struggle to find ways to score without Evans taking the load off a bit. The Grizzlies' big fourth won this game. They played much better in the second half.

Jennings Takes Shot At Warriors, Kings
Real Deal replied to Legacy's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
He's averaging 15.3 FGA per game, at 37% shooting. John Salmons is taking 14.9 FGA at 45%, and Andrew Bogut is at 13.4 FGA at 52%. The success is coming from Bogut and Salmons, clearly. The two threes that Jennings hits per game doesn't make up for the 10 jumpers he misses. -
Kobe Prefers Turner Over Wall
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
He does make a couple of valid points for Turner, one that I didn't really see until I watched Ohio State in the tourney. Turner can go left and still be an effective scorer. Most young players have trouble with that. Wall can drive left, but he'll throw a crossover a lot of times, switching to his right, if a good defender is laying on him. Turner doesn't need to operate that way, and that's a good sign. It would still be tough for me not to select Wall with the first overall pick, though. -
UFC 111: St. Pierre vs. Hardy
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
Man, screw Hardy. That dude was out of line for what he did to Marcus Davis (the homosexual incident), and he's way too cocky jumping into this fight against GSP. I hope Rush breaks his legs. And while I wouldn't mind seeing Mir knocked the F out...I hope he wins, so Lesnar can force him to crawl out of the octagon in their third meeting. Nate Diaz is probably going to take this fight, but I have my doubts about him adding weight. That last fight he was in wasn't that impressive, and I believe his speed kept him alive. Then again, had he had more weight behind his punches, maybe he would've come out on top. Fitch and Alves is a question mark for me. I'd probably take Fitch if I was betting money on it, but if you ask me tomorrow, that would change. -
Don't dig too much into that assumption that you'll end up with it just because it runs in your dad's side of the family. It's pretty random. Nobody in my family has had it. I'm the first. Specialists haven't pinpointed how it happens to a person, so while inheriting it seems to be the best answer, it's not THE answer (or at least not the only answer). I will say this much, though: when I was little, I consumed so much damn sugar. I ate cinnamon rolls that my grandfather would bring me every other day, tons of candy, and drank a lot of pop. I ended up getting diabetes when I was 10. Could've sent my pancreas into a permanent sugar shock...who knows. Just something to consider, I guess.

[Completed] NBA's greatest shooting guard?
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
For the record, you had to have missed the Finals if you think Prince defended Kobe that way. Hamilton and Prince both were on Bryant, every second he touched the ball 20+ feet from the rim. It left Devean George open, which was the main reason they did it. They also doubled him just to DENY him the ball, which is something I've never seen in the middle of quarters before. Maybe at the end of games, but never, ever with six minutes to go in the first or second quarter. -
Actually, it's Slaven's call, not mine. Many will say he'd chicken out and take the easy win, some will think that's smart. Whatever he wants to do, really.

Andrew Bynum suffers strained achilles tendon
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Well, that was a rumor that many eventually said wasn't exactly true. Plus, even if it was, Bosh is a superstar, and that would make sense for many teams. These types of trade offers for Bynum that may be available this offseason (such as Hinrich and fillers) could be considered. Before, not a chance...but I'm starting to think it's very possible if we get a decent big man back. -

If he takes injections, that's how it works. If he takes insulin pills, it's the same concept. Injections, he probably takes the 24-hour long Lantus once a day (some split the dosage into two shots), and he takes a shot with every meal, which varies in dosage (and the pharmacy realizes this and doesn't set a limit on that type of insulin). If he's a Type II Diabetic, he takes pills and MAYBE one shot per day. Most control it with the insulin pills and diet, though. Basically, the government can't decrease your dosage, no matter what, especially with a medication that is necessary for you to live. It won't ever, ever happen.

[Completed] NBA's greatest shooting guard?
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
An athlete's greatness can be separated from his overall abilities. If you want proof of this, pretend like Hakeem Olajuwon has six rings. Who's the greater center then, Shaq or Hakeem? Who is considered the greater center minus the storybook ending for Hakeem? Who is the better overall player? -
Andrew Bynum suffers strained achilles tendon
Real Deal replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
By the way, this is it for Drew, if he's out for an extended amount of time. The Lakers will more than likely entertain offers for him this offseason. -
That would be sick, but it's a reach. Turner can give Ohio State a near triple-double every game, but he has to lead them late in the fourth, and actually come out victorious, if he wants to pull off a Danny Manning. OSU doesn't stand out, talent-wise, like Kentucky does. Syracuse's team is better overall, on both sides of the court. So yeah, in the end, OSU will need Turner playing like Manning did for KU. It's going to be the Turner show or bust.

Well, I usually don't give credit to anyone doing a good job on Bryant, because most of the time, that "good job" is a product of team defense. I think Battier has done a good job, but he hasn't really shut him down at all. Ron Artest did once, but it was a fluke, and a lot of that was due to Houston's zone. But Roy has done a very good job defending Bryant, individually. So has Arron Afflalo, and Bruce Bowen (when he was playing). I'm more convinced with Roy, though, even though Afflalo has been doing similar things all season with other players. Defensive-minded players are impressive, but when you're a defensive-minded player that can also give the team 20+ points and run the offense, you're rare.

If You Laugh At This, You Are a Terrible Person
Real Deal replied to The Artesticle's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
I'm just looking for a legit source that actually says she didn't have it. While I think she was faking it as well, there's nothing that tells me she was. -
Oh most definitely, because paying taxes for better streets in your city is more important than helping out others who you may interact with at work, some family members, friends, some fine girl you could pick up a disease from, or anything in between. And even then, why would anyone want to have free medical care? Hell, it's always better to choose that second best option, and not only that, but pay a massive chunk for it as well. Who cares if it all adds up for you in the end? You're the healthiest person on the face of the Earth until something happens to you.

The government will never, EVER limit a diabetic in that way. They can't tell you how much insulin you are allowed to take. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. The only limit they can give any diabetic is how many bottles of insulin they can buy, based on how much they take daily. For example, the Lantus insulin is taken once or twice per day, and it's always the same amount (I take 20 units of it a day). The pharmacy is required to ask me how much I take per day. There are 1,000 units in a bottle. Because of that, I'm allowed to buy a new bottle of Lantus every month (because I believe shelf life is also 30 days). If a diabetic was using almost 2,000 units a month, they would be allowed two bottles...simple as that. There will never be a restriction on how much insulin you can take per day. This bill doesn't do it, and no Medicaid/Medicare state program does it. Insulin usage is based on how each individual reacts to it, their blood sugars, diet, and overall body of work. Limiting diabetics in that manner would kill many people within months, if not weeks. Not a chance.

Your link isn't correct. Go click on it and look at the difference, once the video loads up. That's the correct link. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=0FaCPnPhzqA That's the one you gave us. There are no pound signs in the URL.

Did she really fake all of that? I read a couple of blogs saying that she did, but never found an article from a legit source. -
Hahaha. Click through them really fast, trying to leave out the "breaks" in the action, and it's funny as hell.

[Completed] NBA's greatest shooting guard?
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Michael Jordan. I don't think he's a better overall player than Kobe, total offense and defense (I don't think anyone is in the history of the game), but I think that the six rings and the regular season and Finals MVP's are enough to boost him above Bryant in the rankings as a greater two-guard. That could change before Kobe's career is over, but Jordan still has him if we're asking who is greater.
