Wow, Mark Ingram TD, he's scary good. What a stiff arm.

GREAT start by Arkansas. Wow.

In 2005-06, the Suns were without Amare Stoudemire the entire season and managed to win 54 games with Nash and Marion leading the way. I'm not trying to compare that team to this years' team, but I do feel like it generates a solid comparison. Boris Diaw had a career year that season averaging 13-7-6, most notable for a few triple doubles he had that year. Hedo's game is quite similar to Diaws, a big guy that is a very good playmaker, but with a much better shot that can stretch the floor and better passing ability. I'm interested in seeing how he plays alongside Nash. Hedo doesn't like playing off the ball, his impact on the game relies on whether or not he has the ball in his hands or not, and he's pretty average without it. I think anything effecting Nash's game will have a negative impact on this offense as well. But that pick n roll with Hedo and Nash will definitely be a huge plus to this squad, and I'm sure it will cause a ton of problems for opposing defenses. Where do you see the Suns this year? Will this Hedo-Nash duo workout or will this lead to the front office thinking about rebuilding?

Dwight believes Durant is better then LeBron

Love what the Terps are doing today, the run game has been a problem, but that 56 yarder was nice. Offense is looking good and Danny O'Brien is looking good under center.

Carmelo still wants out Page 4 in this thread
AboveLegit replied to magicbalala245's topic in General NBA Discussion
This is probably just an attempt to seek more opportunities if anything. Eventually this deal will go down. I like the aggressiveness this new GM is showing, he wants to get as much value for Melo as possible, can't say I blame him. Update: -
My guess is college. But he did lose interest in this site after being attacked by a few members here. If I see him around, I'll try to convince him to come back. With Gyula disappearing every month, this season is going to be a very boring one for me as a Wizard fan on OTR. -_-

It's either that or staying with Denver because Chicago and New York didn't have the pieces to pull off a deal. And it seemed pretty clear that Denver didn't want to deal him to Houston or LA either... This is a great move for Melo. New Jersey is in a great position right now, they have the financial flexibility to sign future FA's, and it's no guarantee that they're done with trading for players. They have an up and coming big man who has a good chance of making the All Star Game this season, a proven head coach in this league, and now a guy who they can successfully build around.
-
It's a combination of a few things.. - Seeing his good friends forming a trio convinced him that he needs to do the same in order to win now. - There's not many good centers out there, and the Nuggets don't have the proper pieces to get them one that can put them over the Lakers. - He wants to go back to the East coast.

So basically, a team has to step up to the plate or else Melo is headed to Jersey. He should start packing his bags because I honestly don't think another team will make a serious run at him in the next 3 days. -

Sorry I wasn't on to read the PM magicballa sent me. If I was, I would have joined immediately. I'm up for the league still however. I suggest just making a new one since we now know who's committed. -
Nah that's not what I'm saying at all, you misinterpreted my post dude. All of the lights are on Dallas this week (and almost every week), they have to win. I'm the last one to put much emphasis on a week 3 win (because you are right, it is only week 3 and Dallas can still bounce back), but according to history, only 3 teams have. And are you telling me pressure doesn't get to players? Do you think they are super humans?

http://www.bulletsforever.com/2010/9/24/1708606/report-wizards-andray-blatche-agree-on-three-year-contract-extension Here's what the guy who broke the story on Bullets Fever had to say about it, it basically summarizes exactly what I'm thinking: Getting Andray Blatche for what basically amounts to the value of the mid-level exception? Wow. That's a flippin' steal, regardless of the new CBA. The fact that they've restructured it to lower the cap hit in the post-CBA years makes it even better. Ernie Grunfeld and his team deserve major kudos for this one.

Is the East better then the West this year?
AboveLegit replied to kingfish's topic in General NBA Discussion
The East definitely has more of the upper echelon of teams in the league. The Heat, Magic, Celtics, Bulls, Nets (if they get Melo), Bucks, and possibly the Hawks can win 50 games this year. As for the West, the Lakers, Thunder, Blazers, Jazz, Mavs, Rockets, Spurs, and possibly the Suns can make a run at 50 wins this year. I'd give the advantage to the East due to the amount of power houses and contenders they have. -
Oh come on Fish, records can potentially make a huge impact on a players' mindset during games. Especially for the Cowboys, who had such high expectations this year. Only 3 teams in the history of this league have made the playoffs after starting 0-3.

Happy Bday RD, I'll buy you a Gilbert Arenas jersey because I know how much you've been wanting one.

It's about time, Merry Christmas Warrior fans. Now this franchise can finally move on and build their team.

Prime: Shaq and Kobe VS The Miami 3
AboveLegit replied to Hawks Fly High's topic in Player Comparisons
The Heat trio has virtually no interior defense, while the Kobe/Shaq duo beats them on both perimeter D and interior D. We're talking about two of the top 3 best players at their respective position. Most talk about the numbers and Shaq's superior efficiency, but it's hardly brought up that Phil expected a young Kobe to guide a heavily pressured Laker squad down the stretch of close games. Real man to man defense can't be put into numbers, casual fans can't grasp what Kobe brought on that end. Kobe was without a doubt- the best defender on that Laker team and the league took notice of a young/energetic Kobe Bryant's consistent defense by tabbing him an All-NBA defender And I don't even need to discuss Kobe's offensive game in his prime, the numbers speak for itself. And as for Shaq, he's quite possibly the most dominant player ever. Give me the dominant big man (which is a rarity in this league) and one of the greatest offensive threats in league history to build my team around. You've essentially added two significant aspects of basketball, a post player, and a wing. All that is left are players that can shoot the ball. With the Heat trio, you still have a huge issue with your interior. Shaq would take Bosh out of the game without breaking a sweat, while wrecking havoc on offense. Not to mention he would cause problems for Wade and LeBron when they decide to drive in on him and Kobe. -
