Probably Bynum, he's the most recognized player of the three as of now. But if Oden is able to stay healthy, I think he will put up the better numbers.

Hornets, Sixers Agree On Four-Player Trade

Good move for Philly, I like Craig Brackins, he could end up being a solid role player off the bench. -

In 94 and 00, two of Scottie's youngest 3 seasons without MJ, Scottie placed 3rd in MVP voting twice. Scottie Pippen stifled some of the greatest players of all-time in key playoff moments. Magic, Stockton, Payton, Drexler. They all got theirs, but he took them out of their game like no one could. The fact that he could do this to such a great range of players was amazing. To cover Magic is one thing. To turn around later down the line and make Gary Payton look like a SG with bad PG skills as he tried to dribble to halfcourt is something else. It's one thing to be a great defensive player. Dennis Rodman was. But then to turn around and lead a 6-time champion in ASSISTS from the small forward position... that's something else. The 1994 Bulls lost to the Knicks in fact because they suffered massive scoring droughts. Scottie Pippen was very good, but he was unable to be the guy who could come down and get you the sure basket when you needed it. He was more of an overall facilitator. But again, that's something you can't completely knock on him for, he had the greatest player ever for most of his career taking over games. When you're in the situation that Phil Jackson was in, you have to go with your best shooter, not your best player. Not every great player will hit that shot, and your more than likely to win the game with your best shooter. It should be noted that Pippen missed 10 games during the '93-'94 season. The Bulls went 4-6 in those games. The year prior he only missed 1 game. It would be completely reasonable to assume that Pippen would have equaled the 57 win mark without Jordan had he not missed those extra 9 games. And without Jordan, who knows how good Pippen would have been in the playoffs? The only true fact we have in this argument is that Pippen took the Bulls to game 7 of the second round. I'd say that's pretty good for a guy who was never a true #1 option before.. And who's to say he doesn't develop an aggressive mentality if he was the #1 option for multiple years? Things could have been a lot better for Pippen statistically and individually if he had been the franchise guy all those years for the Bulls.

Not sure how I feel about this one. At some point, Dallas is bound to break out for a big game, it's just a matter of when. I do feel like Romo has the ability to really tear apart this Texan defense. He has the mobility to move out of the pocket which is a huge advantage against that great Dline and the receivers around him to exploit that extremely weak secondary. But the Texans can do the same, if not better, when they have the ball in their hands. Going to be an interesting game indeed, for now I'll go with the Texans in another shootout. No one in that Cowboy secondary has the ability to cover Andre Johnson.

I think the Redskins are still trying to put together an offer for him. We could definitely use him as we gear towards our potential playoff run (I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I feel somewhat confident). They should have traded him, their asking price was way too high, now they're probably looking at a third rounder.
-
He's one of the greatest two way players ever. Pippen's easily one of the all time greats. Without him Jordan doesn't do it, without Jordan he doesn't win it either. However, the Bulls did a great job during that one season during Jordan's first retirement where he led them through the playoffs, coming fairly close to even being a finals team. The next year when they lost to the Magic (Shaq and Penny), Jordan was not in his prime. Anyone who watched the Bulls after Jordan came back can tell you that, however, once he had a summer to fully get back into shape and shake off the rust he was the same old Jordan. Anyway, as for Pippen, the guy not only put up excellent all-around statistics, but the guy ran the team as well like a point forward. He played a very smart game and never tried to play past his limits when he was in his prime. When he was needed to he could always step up and make things happen.

You guys really value talent, and that's fine and all, but when we're talking about the best WR, you can't stop Andre Johnson's overall play.

With the Oline of the Bears getting manhandled by the Cowboys, Cutler better be afraid of Clay Matthews.

Kolb hasn't proven anything in this league to me, and that's exactly why I'm supporting him. You don't start a former star over the supposed new Franchise guy, you just don't. What is the point? If this is the direction they are going, what was the point in drafting Kolb when Donovan was clearly on top of his game (or close to it)? What is the point in grooming Kolb all those years for this exact moment? If they really wanted to win, we all knew Donovan was the answer. Donovan is still and always has been better than Vick, so why change your mentality now because Vick played a terrible Lions team (without Stafford) and an unprepared Packer defense? I'm not taking anything away from Vick, because as I said, I love his game and am glad he's back to his former self, but he hasn't proven enough for me to label him as the deserving starter in Philly. He was good enough to get into the playoffs and beat the teams with a slow defense. Once they ran into a team that had a fast enough defense to contain his running he would show how terrible of a pure QB he really is. If this is their idea of a win now mentality, then I can assure you they won't beat that Packer defense, or the Saints for that matter. Now that he's lost a step or 2 it's becoming less of an issue every year. I watched the Eagles-Lions game and he was still making plenty of dumb decisions - the Lions just never capitalized on some of his dumb throws. Let me also point out that Reid is walking on a fine line right now. I don't think he ever supported traded Donovan, but the only reason the deal went down is because the front office thought it was best to go with young talent. Now he's reverting back to that winning mentality, and it could cost him. Yeah you play to win, but there must be a strategy in place years before you begin to contend for a Super Bowl. It just doesn't happen in 2 weeks unless you get a big time player. Chances are, they won't be winning the division, or at least that's my best bet. Oh yeah, I'm adding Donovan to the list of DC athletes you hate.
-
I don't think anyone is expecting that, hell I don't even think he will anything special, but you traded away arguably the greatest QB in the history of your franchise who has a lot left in the tank just so you can start this guy and let him take over.
-
I agree, but at the same time, how can we be so sure Kolb can't complement those two receivers just as good as Vick does? At first I hated Kolb just because of the hype he got from Eagles fans, but now I hope he leaves Philly and proves himself to the league. He deserves a real shot, not 1/2 of a week 1 game where players are adjusting back to the regular season.

I love Vick, always was a fan of his game, but this is completely stupid on so many levels. They traded away McNabb for one reason, TO GET YOUNGER and build a good base for this franchise. Everything was planned out, they had their young up and coming stars at the two WR positions in Maclin and Jackson, they had their young QB poised to be the face of the franchise for years to come in Kolb, and had a good young back in LeSean McCoy. Now all of a sudden they lose faith in Kolb and go with the older Vick? For what? They may have their eyes set on the playoffs (it's not far fetched either), but they won't win the Super Bowl, I'm almost sure of that. They completely halted their rebuilding process for reasons I cannot wrap my head around. The Eagles had traded McNabb because they thought he took them as far as they were going to go with him being the leader, and that he was incapable of delivering a Super Bowl to Philly. They traded him because they wanted a fresh start. And now they're going to go to Mike Vick? Get real. That's minute-to-minute managing. I won't even say they were right about McNabb, or right about Kolb, but how about some consistency in your decision making habits?

Sources: Reggie Bush has leg fracture
AboveLegit replied to ChosenOne's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
There was a noticeable difference in his running style about halfway through last year for the Saints. Pierre Thomas started to get more touches and - under some serious coaching, I'm sure - Reggie Bush began to run like an NFL running back. He finishes his runs and squares up on people now. He doesn't dance as much and try to pull everything outside. Now it's up to Pierre Thomas to step up, and I'm sure he's up to it. I hope Reggie comes back healthy, they will need him in the playoffs. -
Martin Is Centerpiece Of Rockets' Offer For Melo
AboveLegit replied to ChosenOne's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
I still believe Melo will eventually go East, but I'm really pushing for Melo to go to Houston. I love the idea of a Melo/Yao duo, sort of a low budget Kobe/Gasol post/mid-post affect. Melo is capable of playing in the post, and Yao is capable of playing from 15-17 feet and in, the duo would coexist without a doubt. Yao would be playing that type of game Houston needs him to play in order for him to stay healthy. In essence, it would be a free throw line to free throw line type of game with Melo taking a portion of the low block opportunities, forcing Yao to stay alongside the paint. It makes it easier on him to get back in transition, which is ideal in Adelman's system. They will need a shot blocker next to Yao for it to work, but getting Melo is a huge addition regardless. The same affect can work with Brad Miller and Melo, Miller is capable of knocking down shots allowing Melo to post up. As for the deal itself, I didn't think Houston would part with Martin, nor did I think Denver actually wants him, but it will be worth it. A package of Patterson, Martin, and a few picks will suffice. -

I'll definitely join if there's room. -
It's only a heartbreaker because the Niners managed to get back in it. This game could have ended up much worse, and I thought it would with the way the Saints played in the first quarter.
-
That makes no sense. According to your logic I could say the Saints were lucky to win that playoff game against the Vikings last year because Brett Favre threw an interception that led to the gamewinning field goal... It just doesn't work like that, the Niners made turnovers because they were careless with the ball, don't try to downplay the loss, give the Saints some credit. An interception is an interception, a fumble is a fumble, the defense has to be doing something right if they're causing multiple turnovers. The Niners were careless with the ball, I understand that, but the Saints were also very opportunistic (as they always are) and got after the ball. I don't doubt it, I still have the Niners winning the division. They're schedule is extremely easy now.
-
That's all on the 49ers, I'm sorry but the Saints simply took advantage of your mistakes and were able to capitalize on them when it mattered most (in the fourth quarter). 49ers left too much time for Brees to score, he's just too good. The Saints were the better team today, plain and simple.
-
How were they lucky? 49ers made dumb mistakes, they suffer the consequences. If anything you guys are lucky this game wasn't a blowout. Good win for the Saints.
