  1. Lol at 'nothing'. While just about everyone will have their doubts in what I am about to say, I believe he was sincere about wanting to return to Cleveland, but Bosh being adamantly against going there with him, and going to Miami, sealed his fate. I think he was reluctant to play there for an extended period with that mediocre cast. If they wanted to keep him, rather than taking him to finance meetings, getting his friends jobs, and bowing to his every demand, they should have put a team around him, that, IMO, is all that it His comment about the Lakers (Kobe shooting 6'24 and still winning because his team) pretty much summed his decision up for me, he wanted to be on a team where he was able to have a bad game and still win, he wanted to be on a team where he could win multiple championships, without Bosh, that was not Cleveland. If he stayed, they might have won 1 title in the next 5 years, if he goes to Miami, or even CHI, he will win multiple titles.
  2. Damn 7M more over 5 years than Tyrus Thomas, bargain price to me.
  3. This is what was interesting to me on this read, if they are serious about playing Nash off the ball some, then bringing in Hedo could really pay off for them. Hedo passing to Nash for the shot would equal more success than Nash passing to Hedo for the shot. Anyways I have no doubt that Hedo will see an increase in his PPG, his efficiency will definitely leave a lot to be desired but due to the extra usage (probably) and definitely more shots, he will definitely gets his points back. I hope for the Suns sake, he comes into camp in shape and ready to go, he can be a difference maker if he is motivated, him waiving his trade kicker to go there is a good sign to start. If the Suns are going to win 55 again this year Nash is going to have to have a HUGE year though.
  4. Jefferson is the better player than Boozer overall to me. Korver is definitely better than Bell at this point. Utah won't be able to utilize the pick and roll with Al Jeff as much as they did with Boozer.. but with Al Jeff they have someone they can throw the ball down into and let go to work. Adjustments are goign to have to be made by both the Jazz and Jefferson if this pairing is going to be a success.... you can definitely expect Al to be a 20-10 player again this year. This Hayward kid has game though, will be interesting to see if he gets run his first season, don't be surprised if Bell doesn't play more than 10 MPG this year. To answer the question, I think they might struggle out of the gate, but in terms of overall talent they added better players (or assets at least, I am considering age here too), I think their record might be worse but Jefferson is a player, he got traded for KG for a reason.
  5. We have all the pieces set up for to put around a superstar at any position if we are bottom 3 this year, that would be awesome, the entire culture of the team is being transformed. The Euro experiment is all but officially over, our team is littered with athletic players who can run the floor, the addition of Kleiza is a nice tough nosed player along with potential Dorsey as well. Also Poe always puts words in my mouth, I said that Hedo was unhappy last year with Jose holding the ball so much, from his perspective this kind of sucks (apparently not though since he waived his trade kicker) because he will probably hold it even less. I never even said that he would be worse next to Nash, I just said their skillsets don't particularly compliment one another, which I didn't think was too far fetched, but apparently it was. And yes I will admit I almost disagree with him 95% of the time, besides his T-mac comment the other day. Also Poe is Barbosa the type of value you expected we would get for Hedo? I thought he had trade value around the league? Also in regards to Triano I don't think he is a terribly bad coach, I think it is unfortunate that he is pretty much BC's puppet though. He was really solid in developing Demar this past year and slowly helping get used to the league, hopefully he just throws him to the wolves this year though. Bargnani became better almost instantly playing under Triano opposed to Smitch (admittedly this might say more about Bargs than Triano -_- ). I think he is a solid x's and o's guy, but I think he is way too soft to be an NBA coach, our players clearly didn't respect him (clearly evident in Hedo) and there were hardly any repercussions for bad plays, especially on the defensive end. Overall he obviously isn't great, or even ideal, but I think we could do a lot worse.
  6. Lol what a moron, I guess money talks though, 3/10 is way too much for him. EDIT: Not way, but he isn't worth more than a player like Z at this point.
  7. This board is going to love this.
  8. I am probably going to miss this game, might catch the tape delay on NBATV later. Demar is just having his way with everyone in the summer league though, it is really good to see him dominating these guys, if he wasn't I would have been concerned... his game looks a lot more polished and he looks so much more comfortable than last year, it is almost night and day.
  9. He doesn't really address any of this team's needs, he isn't a good shooter, isn't a great defender and won't have the ball in his hands.... he isn't a particularly useful off the ball player. I don't see why the Heat want him but I do see why he would want to go there.
  10. So what happens if the Warriors get new ownership? Does that mean that Nelly is gone?
  11. Good choice on his behalf, solid pickup for Heat too.... can give them some solid minutes off the bench, or he could maybe even start for them.
  12. Charlotte has traded Tyson Chandler and Alex Ajinca to Dallas for Dampier, Matt Carroll and Najera, a league source tells Y! Sports. 1yourself MJ, seriously.
  13. Jazz might have just saved their entire franchise's future with this move.
  14. Hopefully they trade him for a PG, they really need one.
  15. That Joseph kid is alright and so is Tristan Thompson I think, neither are stars but it would be cool if we could nab one of them.
  16. Well at least Hedo is gone regardless, I am sure we can find a suitor for Jose elsewhere if needed, we just might have to give something up to drop him.
  17. I think if we can eventually prove to be a team that can win basketball games (I know, we are far away from this) we will be able to attract FA's. I don't think it is the weather as much as people think it is, but we are kind of a joke of a franchise. We have 3 playoff wins in 8 years, no top player is going to want to come here... But if we can string together some good seasons in the future, and put consistent winners out there, and put a good core of players in place (adding a top 3 pick this year would do wonders) I think we could eventually become a place attractive to potential FA's. People act like we are the great white north, Toronto hardly sees snow and is as hot as hell right now. I doubt we can ever sign top 10 players, but I think for most good players it comes down to winning, and if we can one day prove we can be a winning club consistently, we can convince good NBA players to come here, maybe not great players, but really solid ones. We will probably always be forced to get our franchise player through the draft though.
  18. The NBA needs a hard cap right now, see if these dudes are serious about taking CONSIDERABLY less money to play together. Anyways, the C's weren't really a dream team at the point they were formed (at least compared to the Heat), they were all entering the tail end of their primes, while the Heat (and potentially Knicks) are all in the prime of their careers. Lakers would need to add a top 20 NBA player to Kobe and Pau to even be in the 'dream team' discussion to me. Hopefully this doesn't happen though, a hard cap would be awesome, would be nice to see all the teams be on a level playing field financially.
  19. What do the Raptors have to do with this, I just commented on the topic, I don't think I am hating at all. I just think that you use your max cap on max players, the MLE is there so you can get guys in that 5/35 million dollar range.... there would have been no harm (long term) in adding another top 5 pick this coming season and then using their huge amount of cap next off-season. What is the sense in fighting for an 8th seed when you could add another top 5 pick and a potential superstar the following FA. I am not opposed to the signings, I just don't particularly agree with them.... and I don't really see how the Raptors have had a worse off-season since they had no expectations coming in, if anything our off-season has been better because we accomplished our goals, while the Nets walked away from the major FA empty handed.
