  1. This kind of blows, there is going to be a championship monopoly among a few teams if these alliances or whatever continues.
  2. I didn't watch the video or click the link but Simmons is kind of stupid, he is funny, but dumb at the same time. Anyways, the Heat ARE contenders, how do you define a contender anyways? The Heat have two of the best 3 players in the game, instantly come playoff time that makes them contenders, now they have the best 3rd option offensively in the entire NBA? People forget the Heat have 15 million dollars or so to fill out their roster, they can get some REALLY solid guys with that, via trade or signings.... I don't think Haslem is the answer (though he would be solid on the bench). They need a solid C who can hit the glass and finish off inside of 2 feet, nothing else.... they need a wing player, not necessarily a PG, but a wing who can shoot the ball and play at least a little bit of defense. They don't need a deep bench considering almost the entire game they will always have 2 all-stars on the floor and almost always have a top 3 NBA player on the floor.... Wade/LBJ log 40 minutes and Bosh 35+, they don't need great backups at these positions. If the Heat can sign solid shooters and some good rebounders who know their role offensively they are instantly the best team in the East. Of course the Heat right now are not contenders, they don't have a roster.... 15 million is a lot of money to fill out an NBA roster, they can sign 3 solid guys for around 5M a piece then fill out with MIN contracts, that would give them a solid 7 man deep team or so (how many guys did the C's have at the start of the year), then whoever gets bought out during the year could join them. The Heat already have more advantages than they do disadvantages. Also I don't know much about the draft, but who knows, one of those 2nd rounders could be the Heat's own Glen Davis. I know Laker fans are annoying people are declaring them champions already, but the Heat can't be overlooked... not to mention Bosh was pretty successful against the Lakers and Magic (top interior threats) this past season on a largely inferior team, I'm not saying Bosh can lock Dwight down, or Pau either, but he either outplayed them or stuck right with them in both games playing beside Andrea Bargnani....
  3. Mo would be a really good upgrade over Bibby, not big on Shaq going to Atlanta but if that is what it takes to get Mo, so be it.
  4. Signing him to a 3 year deal is pretty risky, that 3M is something the Knicks could wind up dumping next year so they can make a run at another big name. They should have signed him to a 1 year deal, of course they risk losing him at season's end but I doubt he will have a huge year that will command him major money next year.
  5. Nah they are a team award and have no bearing on who is the better player right now (see Kobe and LeBron). If you want to use rings in a debate save it for players who are retired.
  6. Magic should definitely match this offer... it is only 3 years which is very manageable, Redick will make the Bulls a lot better with an increased load at the 2.
  7. How can they even do this when the Heat haven't had a chance to fill their roster out? Lol, ridiculous... Lakers are definitely the favourites because the Heat cannot even field a team right now.
  8. I would bet you something on this.
  9. Except the only people that are mad hated LeBron to begin with (Laker fans, specifically), and Cavs fans. It is kind of comparable I guess but I don't really see it.
  10. Can it? Yes. Will it? Probably not, they are littered with role players right now, Mo was the 2nd best player on multiple bad buck teams, Jamison has never been a main piece on a top team either... as it stands I see them as a 30+35 win team.
  11. Hopefully he is right, Demar and Davis would be really good complimentary youth/core pieces next to a potential franchise guy that we could lock up if we were a bottom 3 team (I assume at least, I heard this draft is pretty good). We will probably win 30+ games next year though, I think we are going to do better than people expect without the expectations for once.
  12. Wade is the one who should have taken a paycut since he is the one who didn't have to make any sort of move and is getting the biggest benefit out of this. Anyways, this gives the Heat a bit more than 15M to get a couple more solid starter/depth players, that should be more than enough.
  13. Hopefully he isn't starting for them, he isn't as good as a lot of people think, let's not forget he is 34 years old... could be good for 20 minutes or so if he can still hit a J but he is overrated defensively at this point in his career.
  14. I was almost certain you only had to waive their rights to outright sign them (the situation with Turk is similar to this exact scenario)... by obtaining Hedo by a S&T we retained the rights to our expired guys and also maintained our MLE/LLE. Since they obtained the 2 guys via trade I just assumed that they would retain their rights, as well as the MLE... that would explain why MIA gave up 4 firsts and like 6 picks overall to get these guys via TRADE rather than outright sign them... by obtaining them this way their flexibility to fill their roster out is made extremely easier and more flexible.... I could be wrong too but this is what I thought from the beginning, and the Heat giving up so many firsts assured me of it. Otherwise there is no point in giving away so many assets to me, just to give them the extra year when they would have signed anyways.
  15. People gonna be even more mad when the Heat sign Mike Miller and retain Haslem after the S&T's... getting the S&T's done is what should make Riley GMOTY, not getting them... putting the pieces around the 3 is what will define his success in putting this dream team together.
  16. This means Haslem returns, if the JO signing isn't official they can retain him, this means they can use their MLE on Mike Miller or someone else, this gives the Miami Heat so many options.... the Heat problem was depth, if they acquire both via S&T there is NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS TEAM.
  17. The JO-Marion swap. I don't care hopefully on Al Jefferson or something.
  18. Seriously Fisher came to mind when I was thinking of a PG for them, I was just unsure whether they had the money or not.
  19. Bosh is going to look so uncomfortable out there.
  20. So when are the players coming out? These analysts seem kind of dumb, I'm not really paying attention though.
  21. Miami doesn't even realize how lucky they are.
  22. No wonder Beasley has the maturity of a 10 year old, his dad is a moron.
