  1. That 2nd team would be lucky to score 80 points and would be lucky to keep the other team (or any team) under 105.
  2. I am beyond excited for JV. 4 turnovers is obviously not great, but 8 boards, a steal and 3 blocks, and only 3 fouls in 25 minutes? It is looking more and more like this kid is going to contribute from day one, at least more than I would have thought.
  3. Serious negotiations start now. Been a twitter fiend since I got home and told there was a 50-50 proposal made. Really hoping its not just a PR stunt with a bunch of bullshit behind it, and we can get this shit resolved sooner than later.
  4. We just basically want something to watch since we don't have cable. I guess my main concern is that every good game is going to be blacked out (in Canada), Raptors games aside. I've been doing some googling, and it sounds like the best way around this is to get a VPN (still don't really get what that is) from Europe, and I'd be able to get all the games. Honestly though, even just to get to watch ANY game every night it might just be worth the hundred bucks (whats it cost in the states? Same?) for us to have live sports to watch.
  5. Is that free? I am incompetent when it comes to certain things, this clearly being one of them.
  6. Does anyone here ever get it? Yes I know about streams, but to me its worth 100 bucks to have high quality images, less lag, no chance of not being able to find a link. The only thing I am worried about is the whole blackout thing. I don't have cable so this is why I am thinking of buying it. I would be splitting it with 1 or 2 other guys that I live with, so it would really only be like 35 bucks. So yeah, does anyone here get it, would you recommend it? Do you know a workaround for the blackouts? Help a brother out and I'll +1 rep you!
  7. Damn, Brook is a solid player? Its almost like everyone forgot that there was all-star talk around his name 2 years ago. Hope the kid beasts this year so I can bump ALL my old posts where I pumped his tires and basically got called an idiot (especially his extension thread).
  8. I remember way back when I suggested like a poster of the month, or best member of the month award or something like that . Even if it was a different name colour, or a sweet image down by your fav. teams, or something like that. I think we just need to think of some creative incentives (besides something stupid like money) to reward people not only for being active, but for just being good members. This is especially true for new members. I didn't know where to post this so I just put it here. Didn't wanna bump that old tired thread.
  9. Pretty obvious Scola knows what kind of year this is.
  10. I hate to sit back and comment on another dude's fashion sense, wear what you wanna wear, but god damn why are NBA players so gay? Does this classify as that 'scene' style? Shit is so gay man. [expletive] you David Stern. We want these dudes back to their AI style coming in wearing retro jerseys and bling. Honestly so gay.
  11. Better today? Better 5 years from now?
  12. Different players obviously, Kyrie is way more skilled offensively (almost like the Kobe-LeBron debate of old) and Tyreke is just a god damn pitbull for the rim. Kyrie has huge potential but he is playing on a team that is going to be HORRIBLE offensively. They were 25th in points a game last year, and they lost their 2nd leading scorer. I don't see Kyrie's efficiency going up from 47% from the field or 40% from 3, and I think we would all be shocked if he somehow got 6 assists a night. I am expecting numbers like 21 a night on 44% from the field with 5-6 assists. This is going to be another brutal season in Cleveland, and hopefully they don't botch another pick. Waiters and Tristan bring nothing to the table to help Kyrie (right now). That Derrick Rose comparison is ridiculous, also. Talk to me when Kyrie wins an MVP (even if it is undeserved like Rose's) and can continue to produce when teams are actually game planning for him, like they probably will this year. I love the kid, but damn. But yeah, basically I expect almost identical production this year with more volume and less efficiency. This team is horrible. I feel bad for the kid, and I feel bad for CF because those fans deserve better (I know, I know, they had LeBron, but they [expletive]ed that up, and now they are [expletive]ing up with Kyrie too... its sickening. Imagine a Kyrie-Jonas-Barnes core? Is that not a contender for the next decade? I don't get how some of these Gm's [expletive] up when its right in front of their face, its not even a hindsight being 20-20 situation... smh)
  13. No one will sign extensions as long as there is a possibility of Houston having money to spend in the off-season.
  14. Conley is underrated. Solid starter in this league. Jeremy Lin is a backup point guard. Dragic vs Conley is a more intriguing comparison, if you really want to make one.
  15. We all thought Tyreke Evans was Dwyane Wade 2.0. Just some food for thought.
  16. Lowry could be in that mix (wouldn't bet on it). I really don't see Bargs there, and unless Wade and Joe Johnson both tear their ACL's and Demar scores 20+ a night on efficient numbers, he won't even be close. In terms of rookies, I think they could both be in the mix. I would honestly probably bet right now on neither of them, just because there are other rookies who are going to get a lot more minutes (probably) than them... they will probably both be around 20 minutes or less, and you probably aren't going to get the necessary numbers to make the team. Think Demar in his rookie year when he didn't make the team.
  17. I haven't been so excited about the Raptors since we won the 1st pick in the draft lottery. I know we might not even win 40 (actually probably won't) but I think our team has some actual bright spots (for once). This could easily shape into the best Raptors team ever, which isn't really saying much lol, but still. Like BFT, I am doing my best not to set myself up for disappointment with JV. He is going to hit the rookie wall hard this year... he isn't going to be able to play at full speed for 82 games, but if he can give us good production all year, we are going to be in the mix for one of those last playoff seeds for sure (the less Gray is on the floor, the better). Still, I love his energy, and the kid loves to get after it on D, which is a nice change for our bigs. JV-Davis-Demar-Ross-Lowry is a lineup I really hope we get to see throughout the year.
  18. I don't really see how he was talking shit. Its obvious he wants to put in more than 12 points a night, not sure why he was bitching about the whole "I want to take more 3's" since he took 3 a game, which accounted for around a third of his shots. I don't see why the fans would boo him though, they have an equally valuable player (arguably) in Bynum now anyways.
  19. I'm not a huge fan of players like Jennings, but that backcourt is very intriguing to me at the very least. Jennings actually put together a pretty decent year last year, and I read somewhere (grantland I think) that they were a top 5 offense once Monta got there? If I had to guess (and if I was them) it would be that he signs something like a 5 year 50 million or 60 million deal this year or in the summer. They aren't going to get better than him, and the kid is the face of the franchise right now. Is that a lot of money? Yeah, sure, but I think Jennings is a guy who can be a key cog on a playoff team (not a title contender though obviously). He's actually not THAT bad of a player. I remember saying in a thread here he would be out of the league within 4 years, but he does bring some things to the table, and a 2 like Monta can sort of help with some of the ball handling duties.
  20. I would start Barnes in 2k13, but this is real life. You've gotta start Jefferson or Rush until Barnes TAKES that job from one of them. You can't just start the kid because you used a lottery pick on him (not even like he was a top 3 pick...), especially when you are trying to make the playoffs... unless you are trying to ruin your locker room in the first month.
  21. At least he doesn't get paid 50% more than he is worth like that guy on the Lakers does. EDIT: worth production wise.
  22. This Lucas guy is going to win us games just as easily as he loses them for us. BFT hit the nail on the head. It was fun to watch him score like 13 points in a few minutes, but damn he is going to piss me off a ton of times. Dudes got a lot of Mike James in him.
  23. DeAndre Jordan is the exact career path I expect him to take, both statistically and financially.
  24. Hey if Demar can score twice as many shots as he takes every night, he could be in for a big year I can't wait to see us with Lowry. I still hate Jose an immeasurable amount.
