  1. Are you going to a gym? Or looking to do this at home?
  2. Why are your guys favourite players so average? lol, also lol at Osgood Warren. G - Patrick Roy (retired) D - Al Mcinnis (sp) D - Ray Bourque LW - Milan Hejduk C - Joe Sakic/Doug Gilmour RW - Corey Perry Most my favourite players are old or retired, don't really like hockey as it is now, miss the early 2000's.
  3. Whatever, wish we could land a set up man for Blake and Kessel. Jonas has been playing good and has all our wins I think, don't want to see him get yanked already. My friend told me there was a Toskala+pick for Frolov type deal on the table I wish that could have gotten done if true lol.
  4. This is what I am doing lol. This [expletive] is the most insane thing I've seen for a video game, I wasn't into video games during Halo so I can't compare them but I know that was pretty crazy too. Our EB Games is having a launch party I am gonna get there at 11 so I can get my copy by 12 w/my friends and play tonight. Hopefully I like the game lol.
  5. Sheed and Dirk are post threats? I see a lot of average post players on there on championship teams, the game is changing, a post threat is no longer necessary to compete IMO, it is more important that your big men can defend the post to me than if they can score in the post. I agree you need good big men, especially on the defensive end but I don't think your big men need to be scoring the ball to be successful, which I am not even sure you are saying that but I am just saying that lol. No team is a sure lock for the finals, the Lakers could very well get knocked out of the playoffs too, it almost happened last year. I am saying a Wade and LeBron led team with a competent supporting cast SHOULD be the favourites for the finals. Nothing is ever definite, as Dirk.
  6. Lol at you thinking role players are good core pieces. Half your roster consists of 12th man type of players. Sorry but you can't be competitive without stars, that is just how it is. The Heat have nothing to offer for stars besides Beasley, their biggest asset right now besides maybe Beasley and obviously Wade, is potential cap space which is pretty bad. There is a reason most your roster is considered overpaid or are on minimum contracts, lol.
  7. I am wondering how much longer this guys legs are gonna hold up, once his legs go so will he. Dude will just be a complete chucker, I hope he comes back and shows he still has it though.
  8. Roy is playing the 3? I think they will definitely need to address their PG situation as Miller isn't the long term solution IMO. I would also be more comfortable if Roy was at SG, isn't he only like 6'4 or 6'5? Blake reminds me more of a bench player or energy guy, this team needs a 3rd option scorer out there, I always thought Webster or Outlaw would be that guy? Doesn't Miller-Roy-Outlaw-Aldridge-Oden make more sense? I don't watch the team or anything closely just going off the top here, but I would be playing my young guys a bit more. Actually hell nah, this team should/will be running a Bayless-Roy backcourt down the road no question, Oden and Aldridge will be in the PF/C spots and Outlaw/Webster will be the SF's by committee. No doubt this team needs to develop Bayless into the stud he should be, they can get away with him at PG because Roy's ball handling and playmaking will offset Bayless' lack of a PG mindset. Blake and Miller are okay for now, but moving forward this team needs to continue to develop their young guys, I forgot why I didn't like the Miller signing, they need to get Bayless minutes. I don't think the Blazers are serious contenders yet anyways so they may as well get Bayless and those guys the minutes. Also is Bayless hurt right now? What is the deal with this guy he is a stud, GET HIM MINUTES PLZ.
  9. This was an INCREDIBLE pick. I remember how stupid I thought this pick was, and I definitely have gotten to eat my words, even last year he had a really solid rookie year, I wanted them to take Gordon I thought Gordon would be a stud and I still do. I never thought this kid would be a good PG, he is still a turnover whore but he has been really solid for this team at PG. So far he is definitely a top player from what I think was a stacked class, really good pick by the Thunder, I love what they are doing out there building a team the right way, through the draft.
  10. Because you don't even have a 'core' lol. You have Wade, what is going on with Beasley is he playing or what, he is your 2nd best scorer and he is getting benched in the 4th, I don't watch the Heat but this kid is a stud and should be getting minutes IMO and getting plays run for him. Who is even in this team's long term plans? Wade and who else? Cook? Haslem? Chalmers? All these guys are 2nd rate starters, your entire future is up in the air with whether or not Wade re-signs and whether or not you can land another big name in free agency next year. You can't expect to build a championship team through free agency, unless you get really lucky and land the king. Your roster is just ugly, it is a shame Dwyane Wade is being forced to play with guys like Quentin Richardson, Jermaine O'Neal, Udonis Haslem as his secondary scorers. At least the Raptors went out and put actual talent around Bosh this off-season, Riley just stood pat because he won't do anything unless he knows Wade is in long term. And even though the Heat might do better, that is not a result of your roster, that is a result of just how fantastic Wade is. Team Roster NO. NAME POS AGE HT WT COLLEGE 2009 - 2010 SALARY 50 Joel Anthony C 27 6-9 245 UNLV $825,497 8 Carlos Arroyo PG 30 6-2 202 Florida International $825,497 30 Michael Beasley PF 20 6-10 235 Kansas State $4,638,600 6 Mario Chalmers PG 23 6-1 190 Kansas $756,000 14 Daequan Cook SG 22 6-5 210 Ohio State $1,362,120 9 Yakhouba Diawara SF 27 6-7 225 Pepperdine $945,000 40 Udonis Haslem PF 29 6-8 235 Florida $7,100,000 22 James Jones SF 29 6-8 220 Miami (FL) $4,330,000 21 Jamaal Magloire C 31 6-11 255 Kentucky $825,497 7 Jermaine O'Neal C 31 6-11 255 $23,016,000 11 Chris Quinn PG 26 6-2 175 Notre Dame $1,050,387 42 Shavlik Randolph PF 25 6-10 236 Duke $825,497 5 Quentin Richardson SG 29 6-6 228 DePaul $8,700,000 3 Dwyane Wade SG 27 6-4 220 Marquette $15,779,912 1 Dorell Wright SG 23 6-9 210 $2,887,165 Simply put that is just an ugly [expletive]ing roster.
  11. I was in those other two threads about LeBron headed to Miami and New Jersey, and I was just thinking about who I think is potentially in the best position headed into one of the most anticipated off-seasons in NBA history and I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts. Everyone is talking up the Knicks for LeBron, but I really think that the Nets are in the best position to flip their team into a contender in the free agency sweepstakes starting with the King himself. Who do you guys think is headed into 2010 in the best position to make noise the following year?
  12. The Nets young talent is much more impressive than the Heat, Chalmers and Cook are second rate prospects. The Nets have Brook who is a stud, Yi is okay good for trade bait and that top 5 pick is amazing trade bait if LeBron wanted to come. Trade the top 5 pick in the draft for what would be a 3rd star with LBJ and Harris as long as LeBron verbally agrees to come if a certain star is added. Harris-Lee-LeBron-3rd Star-Lopez. Definitely a MAJOR upgrade over where he is playing now. Would just need to fill out the bench, Yi and the top 5 pick and fillers would probably be enough for Bosh if he wanted out which I hope isn't the case, but just an example. Maybe Amare too? The possibilities are endless for the Nets, looking closer at it I think they might be in the best position coming into the off-season of 2010 if that pick is top 3 or so.
  13. I still think LBJ is headed to New Jersey, even though their record is pathetic they have some good pieces there unlike New York. Anyways I agree with Warren he is leaving unless they make the finals. I think LeBron to Miami is a real possibility because the money is there and so is Wade, and I disagree with the fact that you need a post threat or post game to be a dominant team or a title threat. I think having slashers like Wade and LeBron is more than enough because they will open the floor for the shooters. And if Kobe can develop a post game so could LeBron. The Heat would obviously have to add a considerable amount of talent but Wade-LeBron would be an amazing start. Also to the above, New Jersey is definitely a way brighter situation seeing as Harris is already a star, Lopez is VERY good, and that top 5 pick would be amazing trade bait to add a 3rd star to the team with Harris and LeBron. The Heat roster is a mess right now. Realistically they could offer that pick to the Raptors for Bosh if they had the contracts and what not, a top 5 pick for Bosh is plausible and LeBron would definitely be interested I'm not sure Bosh would like being 2nd fiddle but whatever.
  14. Cavs aren't trading a franchise player if they aren't getting one back, at least they shouldn't be. I dare anyone to tell me Andrew Bynum is a franchise player. But this article is just saying LeBron fits with the Lakers, not that it could happen. Any GM would be stupid to not trade for LeBron if you are keeping your best player, or in this case TWO best players. If you are offered to give Artest, Odom and Bynum and 3 picks for LeBron, you do it, sorry if that upsets any Lakers fans. It seems LeBron will leave this team if they don't make a return to the finals, if he tells them his intention is to leave the team in the off-season then they should trade him at the deadline for a youth package. Cavs fans would be jumping off buildings but this would be better than losing him for nothing, like everyone else has said. But there is nothing on the Lakers worth LeBron, if you trade the king you start all over again with youth and picks and lots of them, simple as that.
  15. I will take the 75% over the 80% if it means he isn't taking jumpers. He isn't settling for those shots right now, he is losing that jumpshooting big man label if he plays like this all year no doubt. He is definitely working harder for boards and getting position inside, thus exerting more energy making it harder to get his legs under his shot. People are blaming the added muscle, maybe he has worked on everything else so far this year and in the off-season he needs to get his stroke back. He will probably finish in the 78-82 range once the season comes to a close.
  16. Definitely agree with BFT, why the hell would anyone cheer an opposing player that night? It is one thing any other night, but the night we play him? lol, he might the most hated former Toronto athlete EVER, but we play him that night too and we would be expected to cheer an opposing player? I agree that it should be held until after he is retired, because at that point it won't sting as much watching him produce for other teams. Once he is retired he will go down as a Raptor even though he will have spent more years on other teams lol. His number should be raised and he should be honoured the season opener after he has retired. And I am doubting Vince will want to do this at this time. Raptors fans are too bitter and it would be a shame for his final sendoff to be filled with boos. After he is retired I believe Raptors fans, well the majority, will have been able to appreciate what he did for Toronto as long as his video or his tribute is done properly to remind people of the amazing things he did for Raptors basketball.
  17. YES FERRY, THE BENCH IS THE PROBLEM. This guy is a moron, his priorities should be on the core of the team not the bottom half of the rotation. This actually irks me. The Cavs are already pretty loaded on the wing.
  18. VC and P. Shard and Allen. Rondo and Nelson, Celtics homers stay out please. D12 and KG obviously. Gortat is probably as good as Perkins if we are assuming the Magic played a traditional 2 big man rotation, otherwise Pietrus and Perk would be a wash I guess. On paper those lineups are really comparable. That takes us to the bench: Gortat, Redick (surprise thus far hopefully he still gets minutes when VC and Shard come back), Bass, Anderson, Barnes, Jason Williams and Anthony Johnson. There isn't a 12 man roster top to bottom as good as this IMO, Anthony Johnson is the only suspect one to me, assuming you value and understand how useful Anderson and Redick are for this team. D12-Shard-VC-Pietrus-Nelson might be the best starting 5 in the league once they are all healthy. EDIT- I take back the Gortat-Perkins comment, Perkins is deff >
  19. Like I said LeBron playing PF is okay if the matchups are appropriate, if I am the owner I don't want my franchise player banging down low with PF's like KG and that. I am not saying they HAVE to trade now, but I think it is inevitable that they will eventually. Real Deal I disagree that this was a bad deal all together, regardless Shaq is an upgrade over big ben, and both are expiring which means that Shaq's contract is equally as useful to trade, this trade wasn't just low risk it was no risk because if they wanted they could deal Shaq's contract the same way they would have Ben's. Shaq off the bench isn't ideal, but I think it is the best thing to try at least, he says he wants to get LBJ a ring? Well take a back seat for once big fella, I have hated Shaq since watching basketball and nothing makes me happier then seeing him fail, but I hate that he is potentially ruining a chance at LeBron of winning a ring because I want LeBron to start his legacy and get a ring asap. Also Shaq doesn't belong in the Cavs offense? you mean the stand and watch the king offense? If so I agree. I think the problem with the Cavs right now is they don't have an identity, I don't know what kind of team they are trying to be. I also think their coach is terribly overrated.
  20. So... anyone else getting this [expletive] at Midnight tomorrow?
  21. Top to bottom, which team is the 'best on paper'? Which team in the league has the most overall individual talent in the league? I think it is Magic hands down.
  22. LeBron shouldn't be starting at PF, I don't mind him logging minutes there but he shouldn't be playing there for 30 minutes a game. Don't mind him there vs a PF like Dirk or Bosh who doesn't bang it but he is going to expend way too much energy trying to defend the post each play. Him at PF would be ideal if they are trying to run the floor and push the ball. How would Shaq on the bench not work? I think he would be more effective getting the ball when LeBron isn't out there, I feel like LBJ feels obligated to throw it down to him but really doesn't want to. Going back to the old lineup from last year with Shaq on the bench is ideal because they could cut LeBron's minutes. I just don't think these two can be on the floor together because how much they command the ball and how much of the paint the each need. Shaq disrupts the entire flow to the offense, although I do agree with you a bit because the Cavs are definitely more successful when they go small. Either way, this team needs to make trades because lineup adjustments won't fix this, I don't think they can win with this squad, there shouldn't be this many problems or questions with a team trying to contend, I don't imagine they will 'work out the kinks' either. Of course I could be wrong but I don't think they are [expletive]ing with the Celtics or Magic.
