GM2: Dallas at LA Lakers (DAL 1-0)
JYD replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
That's Phil's style at this stage of his career. He's not going to scream and yell. He's never really been much like that, actually. I don't feel bad for the Lakers fans right now (sorry guys ). I hope they come back and make it an interesting series, but ya'll have won back-to-back championships. You guys have more rings this past two years than the Knicks have playoff wins this decade. -
Not sure about the color scheme - outside of that, I like it a lot. So Much I desk'd it. Lol. Niceee!

Don't listen much to Tech N9ne but obviously I'm very familiar with Eminem's discography - the thing about Eminem and what differs in him from Tyler, the Creator and OFWGKTA music is that Eminem's music seemingly had purpose? I'm not going to say it was real political, like a Lupe, because for the most part it wasn't, but Eminem had a lot of songs that - I guess for a lack of a better term - had meaning...From the very little, and I admit, very little I've listened to Odd Future, they don't seem all that talented? Am I fair in that assessment? I guess not? I mean, what are they rapping about? It seems he just raps vulgar lyrics that amount to nothing. Is he telling a story? What are his songs about? Just a bunch of made up lies that are supposed to be entertaining? I mean, I don't get the point behind the movement.

I've never really given the whole Odd Future thing a real chance. Is he good? He seems a little over the top, and angry for my liking. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/08/arts/music/tyler-the-creator-of-odd-future-and-goblin.html?_r=1&ref=music Good article on him for those of you who seem to really like Tyler The Creator.

So far pretty much what I expected. I think the Hawks will make a run in this second half though. The Bulls defense is just so much better tonight. Atlanta isn't getting anything.

Stern: League Expects To Lose $300 Million This Season
JYD replied to The Regime's topic in General NBA Discussion
There's some things the NBA could do IMO to make the league more popular - but, of course Stern would never do it. They should, In my view and from what I've heard numerous basketball fans (but do not watch the NBA) say: - Change the first round series back to 5. The playoffs are incredibly long. They last two months. It turns people off. It seems to drag on for a while for the casual viewers. - Eliminate the defensive 3 in the key. People love college ball, but are turned off to the rule that has ONLY been changed in the NBA. The game's always been played with centers allowed to stand in the paint - as a matter of fact, when you're taught defense in high school, I was taught to split the court in half by standing in the paint. That's how you rotate. - Bring hand checking back. Yes, it's going to reduce flashy scoring and huge games in the 100's, but a lot of casual fans that watch NCAA really get turned off to the quick reach in fouls that are called on the perimeter, and how 'impossible' it seems to defend the star players. I think returning those rules to the original basketball rules would instantly help attract viewership that Stern has lost. Many, at least basketball fans that I've talked to, think the NBA has turned into a bunch of fast breaking, no defense and guys not even playing hard. Those are some stereotypes that I think truly do exist and turn off viewership. -
LOL^.... I expect a big game from Rose, depending on how healthy he is. I assume he's alright. Bulls bounce back and win by 10.

GM2: Dallas at LA Lakers (DAL 1-0)
JYD replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
LA will be fine. They seemingly always bounce back. I expect a good game from Gasol, something along the lines of 23 pts, 12 rbs, 2 blks, and 5 ast. -
This is all that needs to be said. Topic can be locked now.
-
He didn't look that great last night. Ibaka and Perkins will put him in his place in this series.

Lol...When I first heard the news my friend called me and said Osama has been killed and I thought he said Obama...I was like NOOOOOOO lol
-
I said all season that Miami would represent the East in the NBA Finals. I'll stand by that until proven wrong.

Why would anyone post a pic of another member in a thread other than the Post your pic thread? Kinda weird. ECN: If you ever want to post my picture for future references, here it is: http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/154104/CHARLES-BARKLEY-MIDDLE-FINGER-VIDEO-FLIPS-BIRD.jpg

I really don't get to watch many Lakers games, but I know a few things are certain. One, they don't lose this game if Kobe plays more in the 4th quarter. Especially tonight, with how well he was shooting the ball. He had a great rhythm going and outside of Odom I really wasn't impressed with what the bench was contributing. Secondly, the Lakers will be fine in this series because in the end Gasol will play better for sure, and they won't have a hard time guarding a quick PG since Kidd is pretty slow. Plus, it's pretty obvious that Kobe can get a good shot whenever he wants it in this series. Even the last three pointer he thew up was a nice attempt, I thought it was good.
-
A few things: - Why did the Knicks let Brewer go? He proved he can be a nice option off the bench. - Why was Kobe on the bench so long in the 4th? Lakers probably could've pulled away with it. - Jason Kidd really had some terrible passes tonight that led to turnovers. -Lakers will win this series in six, no need to worry. - Lastly, did anyone really think LA was going to lose? I didn't until it was 0.00 on the clock.

I'm not saying Bush didn't want to find Bin Laden. But by going into Iraq, it really took away our hunt for Bin Laden. It distracted the American people away from not being able to find him. I really think that was the biggest mistake...If we never go into Iraq, I feel we find Osama a lot earlier. It doesn't really matter much though. I'm sure he didn't have much power after 9/11 anyway once we got into Afghanistan. Plus, the guy was going to die soon anyway, he's like 6'8" and he's, what, 53 years old? He's was living in caves and he's a huge guy. He most likely didn't have many years left.
-
If we had a competent President, we probably could've gotten Bin Laden years ago. It was quite obvious that it wasn't one of Bush's top priorities. I remember one of the biggest things for me in supporting Obama in 2008 was because during his campaign he said he'd begin to withdraw troops from Iraq and continue the search/fight in Afghanistan for Osama Bin Laden. I knew Obama had been against the war in Iraq since the start, as had I, but I really liked his strategy. I thought the previous administration got distracted with bullshit/oil by going into Iraq, and instead we lost focus on what was important (killing Osama)... Just thought this was an interesting photo. Paul Pierce deletes inappropriate tweet
JYD replied to magicbalala245's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Who knows what the other guys were saying to him? Shit is said like this all the time in games. It didn't warrant an ejected or technical. And I wouldn't put it past Paul Pierce, one of the biggest clowns in the NBA to say something like this. -

Why not? IDK where you're from or where you play ball but guys talk shit like this all the time around where I live... -

Lol What? Pierce talks a ton of shit... -
What a mistake by the NBA to not have a game on tonight in Primetime...I missed both games due to work today, what a disappointment. Wish the Heat-Celts game was this evening...

Is the Howard Era in Orlando Over?
JYD replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
Yeah they have money; but I was simply stating as of now. The team is pretty wack. Deron Williams and Dwight Howard aren't getting you a championship right away. They're far away from it. Just as Amar'e, Billups, and Melo aren't getting you anywhere near a championship either for the Knicks. The Nets have a ton of holes to fill in from the 2-3-4 in the starting lineup to coming up with a formidable bench for them to really make it look appealing to go to NY/NJ's second market team. LA, as of now, still looks more appealing I'd have to think. That COULD change with the Nets spending their money intelligently. Yeah, IMO, the Magic's GM has done a pretty horrific job. Arenas & Turkoglu are pretty bad, can we just face the facts? At this point in their careers, they add nothing to a team. Redick's a decent role player, and Duhon is generally awful as well. -
Stern Wants to Allow Basket Interference in Games
JYD replied to The Regime's topic in General NBA Discussion
The age limit is ridiculous. Making those kids go to college for 1 year is absolutely pointless. There was plenty of success stories with guys making the leap from HS to the NBA. No reason for them to have changed it. Kobe, Garnett, LeBron are just a few examples. -
Are you rolling out a new skin/banners? I see some of the buttons have changed. It looks good as is; but a change would look great too.

Amar'e is definitely the better player. The only thing Bosh has on Amar'e is he's a slightly better rebounder. Other than that, Amar'e is equal or better in every other aspect of the game...
