My take on why the 90's era was not watered down.
JYD replied to Bulls N' Bears's topic in General NBA Discussion
The 90's were great to me because... -That's when I first started watching the game. -That's when you were allowed to play defense (hand checking) -The Knicks were relevant, and played a very exciting brand of basketball. If you went to the hoop, prepared to be knocked down. In the 2000's the Knicks have been awful, and defense is virtually non-existent as every team nowadays scores 100 a night. If it weren't for Jordan, the Knicks probably win a damn championship or two in the 90's. [expletive]ing Jordan! -

Yeah I was spectacle at first too. But it's hard to criticize a guy's injury from your living room. You would just hope he was doing all he could to get back on the field. I will say this - I know Brett Favre would've been back out there. And yeah Favre throws picks, and lost some big games the past few years, and is annoying in the sports news blah blah blah, but that guy is a [expletive]ing competitor and I've always had so much respect for Favre for that.

Lack of Rex Ryan trash talk led to Jets demise

Guys love to play for him. He's a good football coach. Does he go over the line sometimes? Yes. But I like him. I'd want him as my coach if I were playing. -
Sounds sketchy lmao

Knicks offer for Melo is turned down by Denver
JYD replied to NomarFachix's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Chandler has improved in each of his season's. He's a very good defender, great size, and is a work-a-holic. That guy will be an 18/7 guy for his career with the possibility of 20/7 I'd say and a capable defender. Pretty good IMO. And Fields is only a rookie who's going to play hard every night. And you can't say that about everyone in the NBA. In a league where guys clearly take nights off, Fields doesn't. And sorry to burst your bubble, but outside of the Carmelo, the Nuggets roster is pretty much trash. So taking on two young players, Curry's contract, and a first round pick wouldn't be the worst idea in the World. -
He was like a foot away from him with his hands up....It was a fadeaway three pointer, there's not much else you can do there?

The officiating was horrible on both sides. So I can't even use that as an excuse for the Knicks. First of all, I don't understand why Felton is the only guy utilized at the end of the game. Can't we try to go to Amar'e in the post? Have him face up, drive, or pull up for a jumper. If it's not there and he's swarmed kick it to Gallo, Felton, or Fields on the wings. Or even throw Williams/Walker in the game. Someone is sure to be open. Enough of the Felton on the dribble drive iso at the end of the game. He isn't Kobe. He's not Carmelo. And he's not Durant. Go to your BEST player at the end. Second of all, the defense was solid all night..It was pretty good at the end too. But the Knicks really need to learn how to finish...wow. And the Knicks need to do all they can to get Carmelo, because they won't be any better than a 6th seed, and that's the absolute best with this roster. They are more like an 8th.

link fam talib is pretty sick. i'll see how this is though. this is like the first quality release of the year. lol.

What do you expect with Free Agency and the Salary Cap, too. The salary cap screw teams for years that when they finally have money they spend it.

that hope pic is pretty sick i like that haha

Knicks offer for Melo is turned down by Denver
JYD replied to NomarFachix's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
You raise some good points. But First of all, lets clear this up, If Melo doesn't want to sign with Chicago, they won't give up some key pieces in order to rent him... You make a good point about the Nuggets-Knicks proposal, however, the Nuggets could get Chandler and Fields, a first rd pick and an exp contract...or get virtually nothing next summer when Melo walks away. We've already seen what happens to teams when your star player leaves (tor and cle) and hell, even look at phoenix...they definitely miss amar'e a ton too. I wouldn't mind the Knicks dealing Gallinari, Fields, 1st rd and Curry. I think that's completely fair. Gallinari will probably be an 18/5 guy for his career, and is still incredibly young, and Fields will always be a solid role player and has the potential to be a 13/8 guy down the line - who knows. You know that guy will be play hard every night for you. Plus you get the pick and the contract guaranteed from whatever deal you get for Melo. The Knicks would definitely be willing to make that deal. I just don't see any deal out there right now that is realistic, because what team would give away more than that if Melo refuses to sign an extension? -

What does Denver expect? Chandler is a guaranteed 15/7 guy at least, Fields is going to be a 10/7 guy and both can play defense. You're getting a first-round pick, AND a huge expiring contract. Are they on crack? For some reason I believe this report has got to be false. -

I agree. They have to be kidding me. What do they expect from a guy who's going to leave anyway?! Wilson Chandler and Landry Fields are two terrific young players! -

Nitro 3-2 -
Yeah. He has a lot to do with the recent struggles, but more so the fact the Knicks defense has been even more poor than usual and also Stoudemire has really been forcing shots, too. It's a rough stretch. Personally, I knew the team was overrated from the get-go. I still think they'll win 40-42 games, but I think we need to make the deal for Melo now.
