This could be a big deal, honestly. Just another defensive piece to the equation...a championship-caliber team getting better.
I'd be shocked if Brewer plays. He's honestly been absolutely horrible for the Knicks since December.
-
Pretty sweet deal. I can't believe all he culd get was a 10 day. I'm sure, assuming he's not awful, he'll be signed throughout the season.
I know the Knicks wanted Jermaine O'neal, but he's most likely not going to be available.
-
I would package Amar'e Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert for a box of Russell Stover chocolates.
I'll throw in Jason Kidd too, and pay all three of their contracts.
-
just one of those games ...

From a Knicks perspective, I like the deal. This is a deal where I think giving up Shumpert would make some sense. I always have been a Josh Smith fan (more than most), so I wouldn't object to this deal.
But, I don't think it's at all realistic. I don't see Atlanta doing this unless they are really high on Shumpert, and feel like Stoudemire can return back to the 25/8 player he once was. (which is very unlikely lol)

All-Star weekend sucks, for the most part. As a serious basketball fan, all the shit is pretty much a bore to me. I know it's just supposed to be light-hearted and fun, but it's not something I make sure I watch. I actually fell asleep mid 2nd quarter of the game on Sunday night. I was pretty worn out from playing basketball for a few hours earlier in the day, and the game was so boring that I just couldn't even keep my eyes open anymore. I hate games where guys barely break a sweat and don't play defense, so the ASG and the Rookie-Soph game is just terrible to me.
As for the other festivities, they are meh overall. Each year the dunk contest gets over hyped. I had some interested this year with a Knicks player (and who got super hype) James White was in. The three point contest is nothing exciting, and the obstacle course is dumb as hell too.
Overall, it is what it is. I enjoyed it all when I was younger, say, 6-7 years ago ... but now, I don't really care for any of it. That doesn't mean it needs a major overhaul, because I think the idea is to keep it light-hearted and truly gives these guys a fun, 'restful' weekend from the grind of an 82-game season.

Someone told me
anonymous sources are no fun

Why are people still responding?

man james white was really pressing!!! felt bad for him how much he basically stressed himself out lmfao
he did kinda get robbed on that first dunk though considering how they graded the rest of the competition it should've been a 50

Yes, he's in his 9th game back. They also don't know when he'll regain form, it might not be until next year. At that point, Amar'e's another year older, the vets are all another year older, we didn't make a full run this year, and we're a year closer to blowing the thing up and starting fresh. That is their thinking. If Shumpert isn't the focal point of a rebuild when Melo/Amar'e/whoever is up, why not improve the team for the now?
If you think Shumpert is a top 10 player in the league at any point, I'm sorry, but you're on crazy pills. 20/5/5 with amazing defense.. I just haven't seen anything to suggest he's a top 10 player at any juncture moving forward.
Ok, fair enough ... but I think he just needs to get his confidence back. As a rookie he averaged essentially 10/3/3...I know for a fact he can at least be a 15/5/5 player and be one of the best on ball defenders in the league. 20 PPG may be a stretch, but that was kind of assuming his shooting (three ball and mid-range) improve quite dramatically, which I honestly do believe could happen because he does have good form and is only 22.
My point is, in three or four seasons, if you put him on a terrible squad like the Bobcats, I think it's entirely possible for him to average 20/5/5...if he put up 10/3/3 as a rookie, I don't see why in a few years of improvement he can't at the very least be a 15/5/5 guy.

JERSEY!
OHH GAWWWWDDDD (BIG SEAN VOICE)

I'm pretty sure it would result in a three-way deal that would send Howard to Brooklyn, probably Lopez and pieces to Boston, and we get Rondo and a piece from the Nets.
Would Boston be that stupid to essentially give up Rondo for Lopez?
And what happens to Nash in LA? Don't see this happening ....... ever

Go home JYD, you're drunk.

I did for about 3 years then stopped for 7 months then started again in early Oct, then quit again in mid Jan. Overall it's great for you and it's not harmful at all. It opens up your brain so you don't be so ignorant an such. But it does make you lazy if you are in an environment that does want to be lazy.
lmfao

That's sweet...
What were they discussing? I didn't happen to see it so what is your tweet in relevance to ?
-
Rondo way too low....Lawson and Holliday a bit too high, and no Nash. It's not a terrible list. IMO the list puts too much emphasis on scoring
-
Because we're win-now and Shumpert still isn't moving laterally like he should be. He looks hesitant on the knee. He really isn't bringing much of what he brought to the team last year.
I wouldn't trade him.. but those are the reasons the talks are out there. And Jared Dudley is a pretty fantastic role player.
Ok, but none of those reasons are exactly fair. He's in like his 9th game back. And, he doesn't get significant playing time. He starts, and I haven't looked at the exact minute numbers, so I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to bet he didn't play over 20 MPG in several of those, and maybe not over 25 MPG in any...
Jared Dudley is a nice role player, but Shumpert STILL has the ability IMO to be a top 10 player in the league one day...Maybe I'm crazy, but I truly believe that. He already gives the effort defensively, if he adds a better offensive game over the next few seasons I could see him being an 20/5/5 type of guy along with terrific on-ball defense.

Idk even know who the guys are that do the games on that CSN. I have League Pass so whenever I watch a Rockets game I get those clowns (I think it's a trio)
They are so ridiculously biased it's crazy. It honestly drives me insane. There's a few really bad broadcast teams that I have to endure on NBA LP, and Houston is absolutely one of the worst.

Melo and Gay seemed to get too caught up in that individual matchup and hurt both their teams. You can see that both players wanted to get the best of the other. I imagine some of that stems from them both being from the Baltimore area and that whole "hometown rivalry" crap. I don't know if they have a personal relationship or what, but there was definitely something else there.
It got to a point in the 4th where the other 8 players on the court should've just sat down or something, because you knew that it was just going to be Gay isolating against Melo and vice versa.
Fortunately for the Raptors Gay seemed to come to the realization that he was hurting the team and defered sooner than Melo did. I really think that was the difference in the game. Gay realized he sucked quicker than Melo did and Toronto won because of it.
No....that's how the Knicks play. the facts are that carmelo was missing everything and that's just how it went. you have games like that. whether he was hurt or whatever i don't really know. he's claiming an arm contusion or some shit
-
game was wack. on both sides. raptors offense was wack, knicks offense was wack. it was a [expletive]ing bore to watch. refs were soft too,T'ing guys up for nothing.
Idk what Melo was doing tonight. He was missing FT's, easy layups. In the last 5 minutes of the game, I think the Knicks missed 3 transition layups that they always make, or get to the FT line on ... and neither happened. That was pretty much the ball game.
-
The entire discussion of trade talk has me baffled. Why on Earth would the Knicks give up Iman Shumpert? If there's anything this teams needs, it's more athleticism and more defensive minded players ... and Shumpert brings both. AND he's 22 years old.
-
Tough loss for UK, even tougher for Noel.
hopefully he recovers and has a great nba career.
-
Harden goes down to what looked like a serious ankle injury, Warriors fans start booing him when he gets taken out and their announcers start jerking off to the thought of Stephen Curry replacing him in the All-Star Game.
Lol what a [expletive]ing joke.
The Rockets have the worst announcers in the NBA. So, don't talk about any type of bias or ridiculous commentary.
-
yeah it was a good choice by philly. if they could sure up that o-line i think he could be pretty effective this year. you have to have a good line with vick or else he's going to be sidelined by week 2 with an injury.
