Now that he's seemingly turned down Indiana's offer, Would like to see Crawford come to NY. That'd be awesome if we didn't have to give up Douglas in the process. He would be a huge upgrade in the backcourt. You just don't know what you'll get out of Douglas, Fields, or Shumpert. Hell...even Bibby at this point.

Hansbrough is great, too^. He can be a 15/10 guy in this league with the playing time. He's only averaged about 20 MPG in his career. I would be shocked if Crawford passed this up. Double the money the Knicks are offering.

You are not contending in 4-5 years with no KB, a 35 year old Pau Gasol and a Bynum that may be playing 40 games a year by then...Come on now. Getting Howard sets the Lakers up for the future. They are kind of rebuiliding by getting him in the sense that they now have that dominant star for the next 5 years (at least I would suppose) to place good players around.

The lineup sucks but the chance to get a once in a lifetime player like Howard is hard to pass up... Howard + Kobe (healthy) makes you a contender for the next 2 seasons. Beyond that, you will have teh chance to build around Howard and replace a legend like Kobe with another one in his prime!

Couldn't the Lakers sign some role players? Or, maybe get a third-team involved? Regardless, Pau & Bynum is a very reasonable asking price and I stand by that.

I would do that straight up. I'd give them Bynum, Pau, and a first rd'er for Howard. You'd still have Kobe, Lamar, and Howard. That's as good as the Heat big three imo
