I think there is a typo on the boxscore. It says JJ Redick already has 25 points.
-
Wow, the Raptors are shooting over 55% and the Magic are shooting 44%... and guess who's up double-digits?
-
On ball D is automatic. Hold the left trigger for "intense D". To deny your man the ball, push the right stick towards him.

I think the Heat can ride their momentum over the Bulls. I'd like to see Beasley and Cook bounce back from their poor performances against the Pacers. Hopefully O'Neal will keep up his level of play of 22 points and 12 boards from his first two games this season. Chalmers hasn't had any significantly great performances yet. Rose isn't known for his defense, so I wonder if Rio will show any offensive spark tonight. Q-Rich hasn't shown much of anything for the majority of his 45 total minutes from the past two games. Only getting 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and no steals or blocks total so far. He's played some pretty good help defense, but that's ALL I've seen from him.

Mario Chalmers Dwyane Wade Quentin Richardson Michael Beasley Jermaine O'Neal It's subject to change throughout the season, but for now, this is how the Heat's line up looks.

70 wins? Nah. They are going 81-1 this year.
-
That makes sense, if he can still manage to bring a scoring punch at least close to the way he did before the injuries. Would you rather have him start or come off the bench, though?
-
Between 40 and 45 sounds about right to me.

I don't know how T-Mac would fit after coming back from injury.. Right now, Ariza is given a similar role to what T-Mac had before. I don't know how beneficial it would be to have two similar types of players on the floor at the same time. They are both streaky, so I don't know. Personally, I think Battier should remain as a starter, and keep Ariza in the starting position as well if he keeps up this level of play, and move T-Mac as a sixth man off the bench, but would he be willing to accept that role?
-
This is making me wonder whether Artest is truly the better player for the Lakers.
-
I watched the 4th quarter of this game, and wow, choke job by Houston at the FT line, but they still won. What a game by Brooks and Ariza, though. Brooks did a nice job hitting big shots and making big momentum plays. And who would have guess how quickly Ariza would have fit into the role of first scoring option? I know he's a bit streaky, but it's still impressive.

If Celtics win 70+ Games...Who would win MVP?
Poe replied to Revis Island's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
You don't think that Rondo will be named up with those players by the end of his career? He has already put up triple-double numbers in the playoffs at only 23 years old. At this rate, he may have an HoF career. -

Unfortunately, this award isn't given with that mindset anymore, if it ever was. If it is, then Kobe would have at least 3 MVPs by now. Instead, this award is given to the best player of the best team (in my opinion it should be given to the truly "most valuable" player, meaning the player who is most valuable to his team, but whatever). If the Celtics wind up with the best record in the league by a good margin, then the player with the best season performance will be given the award, and Rondo has a chance to prove that. BTW, I don't think he will actually get the award, but considering this, I don't think it's impossible. -

He'll need to improve his points to more like around 17 PPG, plus 12 assists and a good number of boards, steals, and highlight plays and he should be a candidate. -
Possible trades for Jackson, Maggette?

And Ronny Turiaf for Jerryd Bayless. -

Either KG or Rondo, but even though I know Rondo has been extremely solid for the Celtics, it's really hard to see him as a league MVP... so it goes to Garnett. -
Being that his likely competition will be Jefferson, Biedrins, Kaman, Bynum, and Okur, and maybe Oden... there could be a chance. I don't see him getting past Jefferson if he's healthy, but he should definitely have a stronger year than Okur and Biedrins, and maybe Kaman since he has Camby and Griffin taking up the rebounding and stuffing up the stats. Bynum is looking like he's going to have a strong year, so we'll see. So far, I say he won't be an all star, but he does have a chance. Although he is a very important piece to the Nuggets, I don't think he's quite an all star caliber player.

There is no such thing as "too far" when it comes to The Onion.

Starters: Jason Kidd Tracy McGrady LeBron James Pau Gasol Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Bench: Raja Bell Lamar Odom Blake Griffin Coach: Phil Jackson - Triangle Offense Primary Scorer: LeBron James Facilitator: Jason Kidd Perfect. Everyone can shoot. Everyone can post (expect maybe Bell). Everyone can defend (except T-Mac, although good team D would make him look better the way Detroit did for Rip and Boston did for Ray). Perfect fit for Phil Jackson's Triangle Offense, which has proven to work so well over the years. With only an 8 man team, I chose players with flexibility. T-Mac and Bell can play both wing positions. Pau and Griffin can play both big positions. James and Odom can play all positions. All in all, I have at least 4 players in the depth chart for every position.

Good win for the Heat. That's two double digit victories to start off my predicted 5 game win streak. Jermaine was superb once again with 22 points and 12 boards. I think after a few more games like this it will be safe to say that he's officially back. Beasley struggled a bit offensively, yet he grabbed 9 boards. It's good that he's finding ways to be productive without scoring 20. Cook was awful today. 1-9 from the field plus a couple of turnovers and blocked attempts. You could see his frustration out there. Haslem was solid again off the bench. 10 and 10 game tonight in under 30 minutes. Aparently he's taking the bench role very well. He's always had a good attitude about things. Q-Rich hasn't played that well defensively and he's almost completely invisible on offense. His starting position needs to be replaced.
-
Alright, 6 mins left in the 4th. The Heat are hustling but struggling to find shots on offense. It's Wade time.
-
There we go, Heat are back on a role. This time, Beas and Jermaine are more involved with JO having 15 points and Beasley having 12 points total with 7 minutes left in the 3rd. Things are looking good again
-
Bah.. Pacers caught up within 2 at the half. Hibbert got a few points in a row, the Heat's intensity started to decrease a bit, and then the Pacer's offense started clicking as the jump shooters started making shots. Offensively, Cook has been forcing bad shots. 1-7 FG. Not a good start for him. The Heat need more production offensively from Jermaine and Beasley. Jermaine is only 1-3 (7 points), and Beas is only 2-5 (6 points). And Q-Rich does NOT look very good defensively today, and none of the other Heat SFs have gotten any significant playing time in the past two games. The only players to play well individually on the offensive end are Chalmers and Wade. Wade is getting his midrange shots to fall, posting up, and finshing well at the rim. 16 points for him. Chalmers is distributing well with 4 assists.
-
I always knew he could dunk a little bit... but DAMN! BTW, the Heat are doing VERY well defensively. I'm loving their play out there.
